  1. Anyone see the report in the Daily Mail today about EV range being wildly inaccurate? As if we didn't already know.

They specifically mentioned the UX300e as being the worst for advertised range to 'real world'. In fact I wouldn't call it that 'real' as they kept the cars out overnight in cold weather then drove them around a track until they died. In a 'real' situation I'm sure that Hills, Traffic, Heater Use, etc. would have an even greater affect on the averages.

  2. Personally I find the sound system superb. I play everything from classical to heavy metal and have tuned the bass to my preference. My only irritation is radio broadcast companies using any old crap recorded on a smartphone or over a dodgy internet connection. Studio news readers are loud and clear but their interviewees may as well be Martians. I can't blame the car system for that!

I've coupled mine to an Android Dongle and use amazon music. Sounds great. Don't ask Miss Google to play a certain track of music though, results are a lottery!

It's worse: they paid good money to buy that land and they'll now sell it to party donors at a discount.

Can I just state that I didn't mention Winston Churchill. From the biographies I have read I would say that he was the right man for the job at the time. He appeared to have many personality deficiencies in lots of areas but supposing that no one is perfect we have to accept them and move on!

  5. When I had an NX I certainly noticed a sound difference when the shelf was out but usually that meant the back was down too. Even with the seats down the noise levels are not that different in my UX but the UX is much noisier to start with!

Of course the seats are down much more often in the UX for obvious reasons.

It’s nasty tat really Brent, not at all worthy of a Lexus in my opinion.   There are much better designs than that on very ordinary cars.  I use mine most of the time and can fold it dead easy now.

Tat? I think it's a very clever design. Seems well constructed, weighs almost nothing, easy to hide away and looks good. Only my opinion of course!

    Really, Malcolm?  Never?

Bit harsh, I’d suggest.  Wasn’t there an MP for Epping who turned out to be rather useful?

Name of Winston Churchill, I believe.  🤔

Isn't it the exception that proves the rule?

    “ genuine public service “

Ed, that’s rarely ever going to happen unless you force one  brilliant candidate into the role of Prime Minister …… who would rather be looking after his family and forever out of any limelight …….. who’s amazingly clever, self made financially and doesn’t care a hoot to increase their asset base one jot ……..

We actually have that splendid individual who’s honest truthful from comparatively humble beginnings and is giving 120% of his endeavour and intellect to the cause now closest to his heart …… the UK and the People of the UK  ……..

Theres never been a useful politician …… so useful to the UK …… imho

    Malc  👌

Could you name names please? I'm struggling to identify any politician with integrity of any party that fits your description! There may be one who's close but he attended illegal parties but failed to resign so it can't be him!

  9. Having maligned my local area (Leicestershire) by claiming that we have the worst roads in the Midlands I find that I now have to backtrack. On Friday I visited Burton-upon-Trent. Turns out that  Staffordshire produces great beer but has extremely poor roads. Today I have visited North Nottingham. To say the roads are bad is like saying that Adolf Hitler was a bit of a rascal! The roads have holes so deep and wide that damage is almost a certainty.

What the hell is going on? We pay a huge amount of road tax for various governments and councils to squander. They should stop the HS2 type vanity projects and get our roads up to spec. And soon!

Roll-on the election where I can write "None of the above" on my paper!

I miss being able to do a manual wipe of the windscreen without taking it out of auto. The IS had a button on the stalk for auto wipers so you could flick the stalk to wipe the windscreen manually and keep it in auto.

I seem to think that if you flick to Off then back to Auto then you get one wipe anyway. I may have to check when I get in the car!
