  1. Excellent, that's just what I had in mind, blimey I haven't even got the car and I'm blinging it up already. The car is being delivered tomorrow I getting impatient.
  2. That's nice, pity they didn't put that detail on the RCF.
  3. I was wondering if anyone makes a black transfer or even a 3D formed cover to stick on the rear quarters of the RCF. There is a very nice sculpted profile on the rear but it seems to disappear somewhat. The BMW M2 has a similar design on the rear but I think it's open, just thought it would look nice on the RCF.
  4. I actually like the rather laid back attitude, but then I find car dealership people irritating at best. Lets face it in this day and age you have to offer as low a price as possible to even get a start on negotiation or at least that's how I work. For instance a few weeks back I test drove a very nice BMW M3 it was up for £33K and was worth it. I said to the guy any negotiation on price and I think because I was there in the showroom he said about £300. So I politely said thank you for the test drive and left, I followed it up the next day with another very courteous e-mail thanking them for the test drive etc and offering £30K for a cash sale. He then phoned me and said if I could do the deal that day he would accept the offer. Now I dithered because there were other cars I wanted to check out so asked if I could think it over. Two days later he sold the car, so I guess there is a moral there somewhere. Although I didn't hear back from the Lexus dealership where I tried the RCF I did get a decent discount on the one I've just bought. I think you have to be polite but firm and make it clear you will buy straight away if the price is right.
  5. Tried quite a few, My last car was a 600+ BHP twin turbo V12 AMG I was in the process of buying an old Alfa but got guzzumped so walked away. I have a habit of only keeping my cars a year and have had what could be described as an awful lot of 'nice' cars over the years. Since then I tried one the the last V8 M3's it was a special build from the factory, lovely car that seemed to shrink around you but it felt like you had to drive it fast all of the time. You could get it to ride nice with the EDC though. Nearly bought an A8 W12 and tried and liked the new S8 but decided they were both too big but both had every toy under the sun and then some. As I mentioned I saw a red RCF in my local petrol station and I couldn't take my eyes off it, then it pulled away and I heard the V8 sound so I just had to check them out. Did the test drive in one and decided it's Jekkle and Hyde characteristics were just what I wanted.
  6. I spoke to Jon Oakley, I had a good look at the blue RCF one of the members of staff are running. Parked in front of that was the LC500 which I quite like too.
  7. Indeed they are rare I'd never seen the RCF before, it seems to be very much a Marmite car but as soon as I saw it I fell for it's different looks. Wow that's some serious anorak work you've done there with the register.
  8. That's right and I'm glad in some ways that they were so tight, I offered them £31K as a cash purchase which they weren't interested in. So in some ways it was good as I did a bit more homework and found out about the addition of active suspension in the later models. Having seen my first RCF in red it did tick all the boxes at the time so was tempted.
  9. I test drove this the other day at Westovers, very clean but in the sunshine the swirl marks in the paintwork were unbelievable. Looks like it had been put through a car wash all it's life.
  10. New RCF owner here, having introduced myself in the newbie section I'm awaiting delivery of my 2017 red RCF. The car's being delivered Thursday so I've taken the day off and got a bit of cash for fuel. My nearest Lexus dealership is Southampton, I popped into there to get an idea of servicing costs which seem very reasonable compared to the car I've been running. Really looking forward to driving it.
  11. Thanks being new to these cars I guess there is a lot to learn. I like the servicing costs, my Cl65 had £2-3K service bills on the really big C services so the RCF seems in comparison as cheap as chips. Being Lexus Approved Used it has a years warranty and I believe the future costs are about £900 for two years that too seems ridiculously cheap.
  12. Thanks for the welcome, does anyone use Shell V-power in their cars? I'm guessing with the Atkinson cycle they don't suffer like some cars with carbon build-up.
  13. I would just like to introduce myself. After seeing a red metallic RCF at my local filling station which I couldn't take my eyes off I just had to check them out. I've just sold my CL65 AMG on the basis that I was going to buy a concours Alfa Romeo Montreal. The deal went sour due to greed so I test drove the red RCF at Westovers and really liked it. Having done a bit of research I discovered the 2017 models have AVS, being a self confessed gizmo freak I just had to have that along with the TVD. Luckily for me on the Lexus approved site there was a red one with everything I wanted and a bit more for sale up in Newcastle so I bought it, it arrives Thursday
