  1. I would imagine Lexus main dealer to be mega expensive and as i would like to keep the costs down i might go down an independent garage route with me supplying the parts
  2. I thought to get the key cut and then move the thingy with the 3 buttons onto new casing.. am i.missing smth?
  3. Evening dear members. I bought this old girl a few months ago knowing that the Cambelt is due, it has been replaced 10 years ago 68k , now the car has done a little over 100k. I thought i should get the Cambelt replaced soon however I would like some advice . I want to get the belt, tensioner, idler pulleys and water pump all changed. I did some research concerning pricing some paid close to 1000£ whilst others a more realistic 600£ , I thought I d get the Gates kit plus a genuine Lexus tensioner from the USA and get a local garage to fit it, although I am confident i can replace it but i have no time and i have other pending project . Can anyone recommend a reasonable place around West Midlands ? I heard good about Lex-tekautos has anyone here used them? Cheers
  4. Got a genuine new fob casing with blank blade from Ebay for Circa 30 pounds...i will get the blade cut at my local locksmith next week
  5. The moulding above the blade is starting to crack...so need new whole shell/key to transfer my electronic fob into. I found the whole genuine uncut key on ebay for 30 quid or so.... Wonder if a locksmith shop can cut the blade to match the old key blade.
  6. Sorry i might not have explained things the way i should. All i need is the casing, my key back cover that has the screw is broken and where the key blade is attached to the plastic is cracked....they still works fine and is my spare key. I dont mind buying a whole new casing with blank blade ,I will transfer the electronic fob bit into the new casing and get a locksmith to cut the blade. that will give me a new looking keyfob.
  7. Contacted lexus direct who said that they no longer supply blank keys due to theft and fraud???? You can buy aftermarket ones for few quid online!
  8. I had a knocking noise under braking at slow speeds when i had my 5 series BMW fitted with Eurocarparts Eicher discs and pads.... although nothing obvious and everything fitted as it should it was the brake pads that caused the knock. On a car such as The Lexus i would stick with genuine parts ... Its a premium motor so should be kept that way as much as possible
  9. Good afternoon. My spare key fob back cover is broken around the screw... I have seen online that you can buy just the back cover genuine but i am not sure about part numbers. I found this on eBay UK. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F362722816828 Not sure if its right one....can anyone advise me with part numbers? Thanks
  10. Hi. I would appreciate some advice in regards to the front floor mats fixing clips All i found on ebay is this part number, are these the correct ones pn TPZ410-99350-01? Cost 3 quid each ebay item 350744470432 thx
  11. I didn't drive that much on them , only did 20 miles, first impressions are very good indeed...very quiet and make the car handle better , much better that my odd premium tyres. I am not sure where they were made, i will check the side wall later...
  12. https://www.protyre.co.uk/tyres/car-tyres/falken/ziex-ze310-ecorun/#/car/225/60/16/98/W/all Had mine replaced in Swadlincote branch 82 quid a corner minus 10 pounds discount on the pair.
  13. Thanks all for your inputs. New falkens fitted , was very good price plus the steering wheel vibration is now gone.
  14. Thanks all for the inputs. Has anybody had any luck sourcing these from dealers in this country? Or perhaps Japan ?
  15. I booked it in tomorrow and i am going with Falkens.
  16. Surely someone on the forum might have heard about one of the above,
  17. I think i should stick to the manufacturer specs so W rating or above it is After a long weekend at work need to order some new rubber but i would like your expert opinion before i proceed. Kumho Ecsta Matador Hectorra 2 Sailun Atrezzo Elite... I know the Sailun is Chinese but it got some fairly positive reviews plus i can get if fitted for 63 pounds a corner. Cheers
  18. Hi chaps. I Did a search online and no grey ls400 floor mats available in UK,most are in the US meaning Import duty. Does anyone have any for sale or know where to get hold of some, maybe decent aftermarket product will do. Doubt it dealers have them in stock anymore.
  19. It is a very fast wobble, Frankly i do not like odd tyres. My other 3 tyres are Continental premium contact2 225 60 r16 W98 and they have plenty of thread left. I found a brand new tyre reasonably priced , same make and model on ebay however the speed rating is V instead of W, Is that ok?
  20. Thanks a lots. The car has 103k on the clock, i believe it is still on original suspension. My steering wheel wobble is more prominent on smooth tarmc. I never liked odd tyres on same axle tbh but again could be the balancing thats out. I will get detective with a pry bar on all the bushing to see if i can spot anything , I am fairly good with spanners and i enjoy DIY so should not be an issue to replace suspension parts
  21. Morning everyone. I just aquired my 1998 Ls400 yesterday and drove back home for 3 hours. All seems ok except the steering wheel wobbling when at 60-70 miles per hour. I thought that wheel balance might need doing , However i noticed that the front axle has odd tyres on it, they are both good brands with plenty of thread, Would that be the route of the problem or its fine to run with odd tyres as long as balancing right? Where do you guys find spare parts , Lexus dealership very expensive and aftermarket options are limited by looks of things Thanks
