  1. Thanks all. Very interesting. By the sound of it, the best I can do is not use full lock! My previous car was an IS250 which had a very tight lock. I could almost do a u-turn on a side road, but I had no such issues! Heh ho.
  2. Does anyone know what the odd knocking/hard clicking noise is when turning on full lock? Its as if the tyres are catching mud flaps (which I don’t have!).
  3. As a pedant, I checked the distance between the beep and the next camera as being 0.3 of a mile!
  4. I have a similar questions for the seat position memory buttons on my GS300h Luxury. Everythings is illuminated except these buttons on the driver's door. Very strange.
  5. I just received a personal plate from my kids for my birthday. They registered everything and I did the transfer online with the concluding message "you can put your new plates on now". V5C came a couple of days later. I hummed and haa'ed over sticky strips versus screws. Some said screws were safer as harder to take off. Actually, I went for sticky strips from Halfords. The existing plate screws came off very easily (almost with just my fingers - so much for being harder to remove) and my new plates were on within minutes. Dead easy.
  6. Cheers Peter, although half a mile seems quite a distance. I'm curious though, do you know if this runs off the sat nav or reading signs?
  7. I’ve had my GS300h Luxury for 3 months now and love it. It’s taken a while to understand all the features and functions but basically I’m there. EXCEPT, while driving along the car occasionally emits a double beep without any other indication (no flashing light, message or anything). It happens on motorways, main roads, side roads, anywhere! I thought it may be associated with road signs, road markings, certain speeds, proximity to objects, but no, nothing correlates. Anyone have an idea what the beeping is?
  8. Still getting to grips with the sat nav! What are the dots on the roads around me, even when I haven’t got a destination set? Are they bread crumbs (i.e. where I’ve been recently), or is it traffic (even on side roads?)?
  9. Just got my GS300h Luxury last month. When I got into the car on Sunday morning I expected the clock to change automatically, but it didn’t. So I went into the menu and turned off the daylight savings time option. Is this expected behaviour? Bit naf, n’est-ce pas?
  10. @JulesO I was going nuts with the same issue: selected "Available networks", selected my phone, input my password and then it worked, until I parked up and switched off. Start up again and there's no auto connection!!! However, the trick is to "Add a Wi-Fi Network" and choose your phone, select the authentication protocol (if you're not sure then connect using the "Available Networks" and password method and select "Network Details", it will show you the authentication protocol). Then put in your password and you're in business! The next time you fire up it'll connect automatically, although sometimes it may take a minute or so. Occasionally I have to disable then enable the hotspot on my phone, but that's inifinitely better than selecting networks and passwords. Good luck.
  11. Got the Carista over the weekend. Got the app loaded and now I have full window opening and closing from the remote. Neat! Lots of options for lights but none that will actually get the seat position memory buttons on the drivers door to light up. Totally dark at night!! Apart from that, there's not an awful lot of customisation that you can't do on the in-car menu. Still its also good to know that there are no faults showing on the car.
  12. Peter, I've ordered the Carista ODB2 dongle as it comes with 1 month's free trial. Should be enough time to play with every customisable option and decide how I want it. Thereafter its there just to monitor and if I need to change anything its a tenner a pop!
