hi people not sure if any one read my previous posts about my stereo problem basically my lexus stereo packed up eating all my cds with it and lexus wont change it so i visited a local stereo shop near me and they can basically put me in a stereo witht he fascia adaptor ( i have a sport model) so they gonna by pass the amp etc and wire it all up as it should be but i have a few questions?? will the sound qulaity be as good thru a decent head unit as it is now? any one done this yet witht he amp and by passed it?? any tips suggestions advice is welcome also can i upgrade the speakers in my car or is this going to be a pain? thanks people thinking of putting a new pioneer stereo int here i have booked it in for next week so plenty of pointers before then will be good

hi there if i take m lex is 200 sport to a stero shop they said to me thay can do the wiring and overide my amp so i can take a normal din head unit but they said i may lose sounds qulaity is this true wat can expect if they overide it will is till have all the speakers in my car ie the front snad tweeter?? and the rears i need to sort a stereo as mine is broke and lexus wont change it!! so i took toa shop and thye said they can order the fascia and put a nice stereo in overiding the amp etc? so need some help ont his guys or if any one selling a fully working is 200 sport stereo get in tocuh!!!

so where are these 8 speakers i have the sport model and it s 1999 v palte and have 2 tweeters at the top of front doors 2 on front door and the 6x9 style ones int he parcel shelf?? did all the sprt models come witha spekaer upgrade and amps etc?? thanks

thanks a lot i will update u how i get on. wat about the stereo are the leads and connectors the same on my sport head unit with the cd loader at the bottom and the smae as the one with the cd at the top?? basicall are all the is20 stereos compatible?>

hey i jsut read that prolex may be doing a digital aux in ?? when is this gonna be available? how much any new nes about it?

hey people i gotta take my stereo out and jsut wondering if there is any posts on here that tell me how to do it is it hard to do how long does it take!!?? also i got a few more questions can i replace my is200 sport stereo with one from another model?? i have the cd laoder at the bottom and can get a head unit with it at the top is there any differnce in connection?? will it be a straigh forward replacement?? thanks agia for ya help im not a happy chappy as my old stereo got all my old cds in!!!!

yeah i have a sport model so guessi got major work then if i wanna chage>? thats a pain cuz i wanted to upgrade"! best get my broken head unit sorted then!

wat about the wiring for the steroe will it jsut plug and play to a new head unit? or is there major work involveD? thanks

hi people. just got into my is 200 sport and the stereo wont load play or eject cds. comes up error3? any one know wat this is. the stereo was changed last year before i got the car under the xtended guarantee that the stereos carry. the car is a v plate 1999 but i have the receipt from the last stereo cahnge? will lexus/toyota change this unit ?? the unit that is int here is the tape deck on top and cd unit below? if they have changed the stereo does the one they repalce it with carry a new 5 year guarantee?? its well annoyed me no cds on my nit eout tonight any suggestion comments or help is appreciated thanks

hey people i have a lexus is 200 sport at the moment working on it kit and exhaust etc but really want a lexus sports grill the one with the mesh style any one got one for sale or noww where i can get one with out visiting my local lexus branch! i have been looking on ebay every day but never manage to grab one any help would be appreciated! thanks

hey people i aint had the chance to get on ehre ina long while! been a busy boy working and all! and now the sumemr nearly here i need to treat the lex to a treat! i want the tte front valance rear valence and side skirts i seen them the other day and now i want so can any of you out there advise please where i can get them from or if any one selling them and can any one advise how easy or hard they are to fit or how to fix them on! thanks alot againa ny advice welcome

yeah they only jsut got rid of the horse and kart up north :D sounds like it gonna have to be settleed witha gold old fashioned game of paper scissors stone!!

im feeling all special now since i got cheap insurance but ya got me all worried, i hope they dont phone and say excuse me mr woods we made and error!! but i have paid it in full now and got the the cover note on its way:D so if they have cocked it up its there prob and of course i will be expecting to pay less next year:D

i have a quick question, i had mine replaced do i get a five year warranty from the date they installed my replacement unit or does it just go from the age of the car!!!

no way i got a quote from lexus/toyota canterbury and it was 196 inc vat and it was coloured to my car!!1 so where they get off charging u that much phone up lex canterbury and i can always pick it up and post it to u!!!

a good old sawn off shot gun sould do the trick!!! keep it loaded but be carefull with it around the kids make sure its locked up!!

sorry unfortunatly no muts nuts here i phoned up and double and treble checked it all out today !! and 330.34 p so i tookt he quote and paid for it so they cant turn around and up the price and made sure its fully comp!! i live in quite a good post code area, but hey did smash my brothers best quote for his bmw, he was quoted about 800-900 but went on the net and he got a quote of 450 so i was shocked at that too....but we live in same street smae post code??

nope all usual stuff no added extras yet and yep i have checked all the details i put in i will be 23 when i renew though??:P i will update ya all but i think its a bargain do u think i would be rude to try and haggle them down or even ask them to through in some break down cover??

take it to lexus and get them to change it!!!! they extended the warranty ont he stereos. jsut get a new one for the sake of it!!

thats well strange wonder whyt her eis such a difference. i put 22 years old but will be 23 when i take the insurance out been driving 6 years when its renewed with 6 years no claims car in garage i put skilled as proffesion, no claims, no convictions etc etc. i put protected no claims and legal cover at fully comp with 150 excess. not sure if it has got windscreen cover??? quote was 330 and some pennies.. so i had to tkae it :D
