I believe this to be correct.
Here I see a lot of 220D driving around and the license plates tell they are all more than 10 years old. I have not seen one of them pushing out black exhaust even uphill (where we live it is either up or down more than 50% of the time), most of the diesels look well maintained and when looking at used cars I have so far not seen one Lexus diesel. A lot of RX, NX and of course an abundance of IS, SE and CT.
i followed an Audi the other day. On his back window was a sticker saying "more smoke more poke".
I think he must have been avoiding a submarine because he was making more smoke than an old steam train.

are 2009 and 2007 same parts do you know?

Reluctant to spend big money, I have been internet surfing and found this page.
https://www.onlinecarparts.co.uk/oenumber/534400w102.html
The first 5 are listed as BONNET springs and the last two as BOOT
Towards the bottom are listed 2 boot air springs BUT both out of stock.
However the top item, Maxgear appears to be the same spec as the Ashika boot item.
If they are the same then these are cheap.
Is the boot spring the same as the bonnet one?
I am no expert on these things but are the specs the same, are they interchangeable?

Mike,
Well spotted and thanks.
I had found that and the colour is promoted as '9AL Deep Garnet'. I'm not sure if my dark blue/slightly purple paintwork qualifies as this but it's worth a fiver to find out. I'll order it and see what happens.
DID IT WORK?

Lexus breakers on 01254301021 have a couple of sc430’s. Maybe they have an aerial.

Well, the upshot is that Lexus do not supply the colour 9AL as a touch-up stick. It's only for a slightly scratched door-mirror cowling so no big deal.
Given enough time, I'm sure I'll think of something 😁

Not wanting to steal your thread but I have a memory in the recesses of my mind. I remember a scratch touch up system which consisted of strips of adhesive paint, sellotape like, the size and thickness of medical sterri-strips, which were applied over the scratch and buffed in. Does anyone else remember these?

i had a similar experience when touring South Africa in the 70's. Just south of Durban and nowhere to park i found a six vacant space under some trees near the beach. Left the car and went to bed. Locals new why nobody parked there at night. The trees were fig trees and frequented at night by fruit bats. In the morning i returned to find the car looking like the dog car out of dumb and dumber. It was Sunday morning, no car wash open in town and a real mess. Drove round to the Hertz hire place, which was closed and found a hose pipe so washed it off. Sorry to say left their forecourt less than tidy.

Former owner said the maps have been updated. But that you can no longer update to make it current now. What is the latest possible update?
2017/18 available on eBay. Remove lower front using two pins, eject old disc and put in new one

So for comparison, that would have been six shillings and eightpence (6/8) in pre-decimal currency. That's pretty much in line with the AA records which put the 1969 average at six shillings and sixpence. What's more interesting is whether you managed to pay with decimal currency two years before the country went decimal in 1971! I expect you're converting to decimal for the benefit of those readers who don't understand pre-decimal.
You are correct. I remember it as 3 gallons for a pound, six shillings and eight old money, 33 new pence. Funny we don’t even say new pence now.

@Lex_utor Congrats on your purchase and welcome to the family :)
Re point 1 - they do have an LSD, but unsure which one i.e. open/locked it is - I know people swap them to toyota gt86 ones or similar - which may be locked diffs? but I'm not very sure on this.
Re point 6 on the sunglasses - it's an US only option as the cars in UK (possibly Europe too) have some internal security stuff in there. I replaced the handle above the head (can't seem to remember what it's actually called now) with a cheap sunglasses holder and seems to be working great. It's a bit fiddly to install and it's not a perfect fit but it works great

The black one might have been registered in 2011, but its a 2009-2010 spec "facelift" car.
The IS then received a further refresh for the 2011 model year with different bumpers, wheels, clear turn signals etc. That's what the blue car is. It looks like it might be an Advance model?, which was introduced around the same time.
Thanks for that it now makes sense. The reg dates threw me.

The last time petrol was two shillings and ninepence a gallon seems to have been in 1950, according to the AA. That's 71 years ago!
And before that it was 2/9 or more during the First World War.
Asda Lincoln 1969 33p a gallon, filled up the tank for £3.50

That's how it works on my RC. Put into reverse and then adjust the mirrors as required. The setting is stored automatically but remember it is relative to the setting when in D, so if you change that you will have to readjust the reverse setting
Would like just a bit more tilt. Can get that manually but it does not seem to remember. Cannot get tilted memory to work on my car. Do you do that and then press memory seat button or does yours just remember?

feels like the prices are just going up and up
Missing those days of 99p per litre!
Missing those days of 33 old pence a gallon😵💫

When putting in reverse, (if the mirror switch is set to left or right) the mirrors tilt down. I seem to remember that the angle of automatic tilt was selectable and memorised but cannot find any reference in the handbook? Was I dreaming?

Ok OK don't shout at me for starting yet another thread on this very well documented subject. But this thread is different. Why? Well I'll tell you. Are you sitting comfy?
I was in my car a day or 3 ago just playing with the satnav screen and pressing buttons I'd not pressed before. Now something really odd struck me when I pressed the maintainance button and lots of other buttons came up such as service intervals, battery service, etc etc but one I found I thought eh up why is that there. Automatic transmission fluid service.
Now we all know it's not part of the cars servicing but if that's the case then why is it in the cars maintainance schedule on screen?
And another thing. Since on that screen other service items are on why don't dealers actually input info within those categories. I will be asking Lexus Stockport when my car goes in for a major service next week.
how much is that service and does it include plugs?

"Official Service!" at Wer**** Motor Garage, per chance?
although advertised as recently serviced the book had no stamp for over a year. Just dodgy dealing. i think every car he sells gets the same advert.

Linas, I did try to use my statutory rights. I contacted trading standards but surprisingly they couldn't help. And like I said even though the guy was a pleasant one that hid his underlying side which is full of 'merd' 💩.
If you look on auto trader for a SE-L 08 plate or newer and see a blueish one for sale in Oldham that's the dealer Super One Traders.
The plus points tho of the car it's a cracker, love it to bits and I got a ruddy good price on a mondeo diesel I chopped in, £500 more than any other dealer or WBAC.
I got mine off the same guy. He seems to specialise in them, had two when I went to look at mine. Cannot much fault the car as it passed MOT which I did shortly after purchase. Was not due but did for my peace of mind. Only thing is that between viewing and delivery the near side mirror cover had got a smack and on delivery it was “purposely” parked against a fence where it was not easily seen. Bit devious! I also did not trust the last service record which I think was performed, or not, by a mate. Have had her now for 18 months and not a problem apart from replacing mirror cover.

When I bought mine last year and I took it to Lexus for a service and MOT they stated they wouldn't MOT it as they'd fail it. Fail it I asked, why? Because of a weeping rear shocker. The car then was 13 years old with 84k miles one owner from new and Full lexus service history.
Unlucky me I suppose as it cist me over £650 to replace both rear shocks but I got a free MOT. And the dealer who sold me the car? Full of BS and wasn't in the least interested.
Funny, he's got another SE-L 2008 in a light blue for sale at a very reasonable price. And yes I've just posted a semi scathing review of him.
