  1. Hi all, I have a 2017 is300h and noticed today that the rear passenger door does not lock when I lock the car. I can force lock by locking inside but then doesn't open at all from outside. Anyone have any ideas?
  2. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/255816956476?hash=item3b8fe0fa3c:g:uOAAAOSwp39jajaz&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAAA8IWCtmB9EOxnuedfUsO7MhkklSv7Z40LmyRdyiwTmAUkXqwVhIddw6NqAUREgfog3Zx%2FwX2WiCNZODqZw%2BeEWWv6wCa5H7bwdG6z5tYdq95hJd9kdeSfRUqDhvNAW%2BE4YsUldLpli94rJqpHckO7mukIUvGIVlQ4RC18F0wq0Q2LR0I6rljhpn0LvMFrzTXH9YftlnIYBJ1DudBG5YEwobbdDAeB5oTiCgwdnua04z3mlG4DTNsFZOOAf6s5o3uZuF3LfuA14pjXF7G8Y0lVzSnbV2aWPvCcizks2nUxWTwZfOlV5doZ7CLZIqfJ2kuuRg%3D%3D|tkp%3ABFBMlPaYpYVj This what I was thinking of fitting to the new alloys!
  3. Now I am confused! I thought the TPMS valves was the sensor?
  4. Hi all, I have the IS300h and will be fitting new alloys soon. I was thinking of getting some aftermarket tyre pressure sensors to fit into the new alloys ready. I have heard that it is difficult and some say impossible to get the car to recognise the new sensors without specialist equipment. Can any please advise on tis. If I bought a new aftermarket set, would I be able to get them recognised by the car myself. If I would, would I still have the same problem if I bought Lexus branded sensors. I have minimal mechanical knowledge. Thanks in advance.
  5. Hi guys, thanks for your input. The service stamps are at correct intervals. New 3/17 9097 4/18 18134 05/19 24058 5/20 when I bought it 33617 12/20 42945 10/21 51781 5/22 Plugs definitely done. MOT - (new tyre , wiper blades and headlamp washer jet) and service £905. Says on the invoice carried out 60 000 mile service. I am more curious why they did it 10 000 miles early and I shall certainly make sure it is an interim next time when it will be 60 000 miles.
  6. Morning Roy, thanks for responding. Last service stamp was 42 000. It's only five years old so 51 000 doesn't seem out of place to me. First registered 2017. I will have a look into the service plan 🙂
  7. Hi all, I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on this for me. I rang my dealer for a service, car reached 51 000 miles, I've serviced every 10k since bought, and it was booked in. 51 000 miles on the clock but when I got the bill and looked at all the details I noticed they did a 60 000 mile service, the most expensive service to date. Before I query it with them I thought I'd get your thoughts and save making a fool of myself 🙂 Why would they do an expensive 60 000 mile service at 51 000 and what happens when it gets to 60 000? Will they try to do another?
  8. Hopefully I'll remember where it is then and sort it in a minute. 🙂
  9. Sorted! I can't believe how crazy this has been. On my system, whatever system it happens to be, I go into <SETUP> <NAVIGATION> and there is a SYSTEM TIME tab! Maybe I have been a little dense here but I wouldn't have imagined having to go through navigation to get the the clock settings! Done now anyway so thanks to all who tried to help. I really appreciate your support.
  10. Interesting question! I assumed standard for the model. Is there a way to find this out from the car info?
  11. In the manual it says go into Set up then General and then there is a tab for either clock or system time above the language. I have scrolled completely through this last one and there is no 'Clock' or 'System Time'
  12. Hi Paul, this is what I am saying. My car does NOT have this! All online and the manual says this. 😞
  13. Hi Herbs, it didn't change automatically last year hence attempting to do it manually this year. The manual says select Set Up>General>System time and change to daylight saving. But mine doesn't have the System Time option. It doesn't do it automatically. Last year I forgot and got to places late thinking I was well in time! 😞
  14. Hi all, Spring has sprung and here we are ready to change all of our clocks again. I have already sorted the manual clock on the dash but I can't figure out how to change the clock in the satnav (the one that predicts your arrival time). Last summer I had it run an hour behind until they went back again in the autumn. I have tried the manual suggestions of menu>Settings>General>System Time but there is no 'System Time' on mine. Or time or anything that implies time! Can anyone point me in the right direction, please? I tried a search on here and YouTube but what I did find didn't work. 😞
  15. Yep, I got one too. For peace of mind it is a cheap £795 I think.
  16. That is interesting. Thanks Thackeray. As you said, the car is a delight apart from those points.
  17. I tend to keep it in ECO to be honest mate. 🙂
  18. Ok, so I promised that I would give my feedback on what I thought of my new IS300h 2017 Executive It is fair to say that I am enjoying her immensely. First pull off from the dealer I forgot to release the brake! Never did that again! One embarrassed new Lexus owner - a bit of a clunk! It took a few miles to become accustomed to the automatic; I've not driven an automatic for many year but once I settled in I forgot all about the gears. She performed smoothly and quietly on the trip home of about 60 miles. I took it really steady and focused on becoming familiar with all the dials and controls. I have had her about 8 weeks now and covered about 1500 miles. She is beautifully smooth, quiet and comfortable. I find the steering very smooth and positive, no hint of under-steer or over-steer that I had in my Volvo S60. Point her to where you want to go and she goes there. Power is sufficient and in sport mode and foot planted it moves more than quick enough for me. If I wanted a '**** off of a shovel' car I'd have considered something else entirely. I read and saw many reviews saying the car is noisy when accelerated hard. I can't agree; or at least I've been lucky because I heard nothing more than an acceleration compatible with flooring any motor and it is about the only time I do hear the engine. She is definitely responsive and quick enough for me. The added button for simulated digital engine noise is switched off all the time. If I wanted to hear the engine I would not have chosen a Lexus. The rear camera is surprisingly useful despite many reviews I have heard to the contrary. It has helped in and out of one or two tight spaces already and although my driving experience would have still gotten me in and out safely, this addition assists and helps lower anxiety and fear of scratching my little baby. 🙂 Fuel economy is coming in at an average 55 mpg. Disappointing that I can't actually see this number in the info panel so I am having to 'guestimate' an average from the row of bars that I can see. I am still trying to become familiar with all the info available so it might be there somewhere. Generally I find the controls easy to operate and conveniently places once the initial space shuttle feeling wore off. Added extras like Lane assist might be useful on those long tiring journeys but the vibration through the steering wheel is so gentle I doubt it would alert anyone who is less than fully coherent. Adaptive cruise control is handy though. It responds very well to slower traffic ahead and even when the odd 2@ cuts in front. My only criticism with this system is that I think the acceleration phase once traffic has cleared could be a little gentler. It rather feels like I am flooring it and would not be doing that if I were in control of the accelerator. Road sign recognition system is a useful tool, although sometimes miss-reads ... it once told me that the speed limit was 120 mph. As far as I can tell though, it only reads speed limits! The radio, six speaker standard, is more than adequate for my needs. I tend to listen mostly to Radio 4 and music is supplied by CD's - Yes I am an old git still using CD's. I remember my Dad using 8-Track and cassettes so I have progressed a bit! DAB doesn't seem to want to tune though. It wouldn't at the dealers, he said there may be too much interference, and it won't outside my house either. Not a major problem but there you go. I've had a Ghost Immobiliser fitted since, for added piece of mind, and although nothing to do with Lexus, a quick getaway is not possible anymore. It takes between 20 - 30 seconds to start now as the code has to be entered quite slowly or it doesn't register. And, the fitter strongly recommended that I did not change the code he set! Almost insisted! Of course, 5 seconds after he left it was changed and I've made it as complicated as possible - which probably causes the inability to make a quick getaway! lol - I wonder why he didn't want me to change the code? All in all a magnificent car. If you want a lovely smooth, comfortable ride with some class, it's the car to get. If you want a bit more poke, power and sporty drive, maybe the IS Sport? Or maybe Porsche or similar! (Insert your own alternative here - other manufacturers available ... lol)
  19. To be honest, I didn't expect a discount Colin but surprised about not required to inform them. I declared car with no additions or mods. I am sure if I had a prang the additional immobiliser would be of interest to them then!
  20. No system is infallible, John. I would rather make the effort or we may as well just leave the door open for them!
  21. Just rang them and was told I need not inform them! A bloody mind field with what different companies require.
  22. Just had the little baby fitted. That should aid security along with the Faraday box I bought for the keys. God, do I sound paranoid? So, the Ghost is TASSA approved, should I be contacting my insurance company?
  23. I was just going to say that it is almost identical to Swindon!
  24. Thanks for the confirmation Herbie. This is the pic out of the manual but I couldn't find the meaning in the User Guide. 🙂
