Lexus are no different, I went in my local lexus dealer, all I wanted was the cover that fit's inside the latch hole where the locking clip fits from cover that's between the fronts seats because after I had fitted the OEM armrest from an Auto, the only bit missing was the cover about 50p's worth, the reply from the spares man was 'That'll be £35 please as it only comes with the centre consul, I didn't bother answering just walked out.
The moral of this story is 'Lexus are no better than any other manufacture'

My thanks to everybody that voted for me
From the April Fool,
Only one request, when the photo's are sent for printing for the calander, please don't photoshop out the number plate as it has quite a big fan club plus no one will belive it's mine if the number plate is not shown.
Thanks again

I've just got in from work saw this post, I have one suggestion about voting,
Why not give this some thought
All the people that entered Vote for there best 12 photo's
They PM there seclected 12 to one person, suggestion 'Club Secretary'
If an out right winner is required then vote Best = 12 not best = 1
There is only one golden rule, you can not vote for your photo.
This seems to be a fair way of doing it and there can't be any cheating this way.

My standard wheels are starting to bister and corrode
O I did laugh, only having wheel problem after 6 months, you should own mine,
needs new paint job on the front end (Paint chipping) the paint is that bad you only have to look at and it chips.
New Clutch (Dragging) Crap gear change 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd Lexus Technical response after driving my car. I say gearbox he says clutch (we'll see who is right)
New rear windscreen outter seal (distorted caused by sun load)
New seals on rear boot spoiler (not fitted correctly)
New Sport decals in rear quarter windows (Melted caused by sun load).
Nearly forgot 18 alloys Not the best finish in world, No corrosion Yet,
All this after 5 months and 4000 miles
This car is nearly as bad as the New Escort brought in 95.
-
I hope their cars fall to pieces and they have problems mechanically throughout their ownership.
MMMmmm I think that happens with all Lexus cars all hype and no substance
-
OK - in the interests of absolute clarity.
There has obviously been 'gamesmanship' in the voting. I'll say no more.
The calendar competition is cancelled due to this - there will be no LOC Calendar for 2004 due to the above gamesmanship.
I will add a personal note of digust in this outcome.
MMMmmm the majority lose out to a minority. Very
Wasn't it mentioned in the rules that anybody found cheating would be disqualified.
By cancelling the comp the club is losing, I thought the profits from selling the calender were to go back into the club. Even more and :tsktsk: off
-
I can confirm that the compo is off, due to the cheating
If cheating can be proven, then the guilty ones should be banned and then who ever has the highest 12 votes should be in LOC calendar. I think that's fair or am I alone on this.

Looks really good. Much better than the one I was looking at last night on the IS300 net forum. See pm

-
I might be interested as I've just been looking a simular design in IS300 forum in the states, any ideas yet on prices.

here is a picture of type of dog, we met the breeder about 6 weeks ago and placed deposit etc. will be picking him up on Sunday (he's 8 weeks old), rushing to get everything we need before we get him.
AAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Is that what the 'Return of the Capri' stuff in the press has been about ??
Nope,
This model pictured will never see the light of day as it's a concept car
-
Add me to the list as well please.

This is an extract from a BMW road test report appeared on link below:
http://www.bmw.co.uk/model/roadtestreport/index/
...BMW has judged the refinement of the 745i to perfection. At idle this is an exceptionally quiet car, and it remains so at any speed up to 125mph, when the only sound filtering into the cabin is a gentle wind flutter. You simply don't hear the engine unless you rev it out, the assured mechanical hum at the 6600rpm change-up point reminding you that this is a BMW, not a Lexus. ...
I think this is outrageous and another pathetic attempt by BMW to hit at Lexus.
It's only someones opinion and everybodies got one

I was worried about this when I was looking to buy, couldn't get the seat low enough in the showroom. Advice from Supracharged was to raise the front mountings (as previous post(s)). Raising the front of the seat apparently lowers the seat where you sit.
Went ahead and bought my car and found (with a bit of messing about) a comfortable driving position which has been OK (about 1" between my head & edge of sunroof).
I also found newer (post 2001) IS's seem to have a bit less room than older ones.
I had the same worries when I have a test drive, but I thought I could find a better seat position over time. I've now had the car three months and I still can't get a good seat position without my head touching the headlinder frame around the sun roof.
I'm going to try what Supracharged-IS340 has suggested.

Current seat fitted is the 8 way electric version

Not in the IS it isn't, there's no lumbar support.
Just using the same bad wording as used on Lexus UK web site to descride seats fitted in IS
QUOTE
place washers under the front mountings
Quote
Will new bolts be required for 20mm?
New bolts will be fitted so that same amount of thread engagment as before the fitting of the washers.

Gavin.
The VEBA reverse aid.
4 sensor kit are the most FLUSH kit on the market.
They can be painted too. and look the BIZ. very simular in shape and look, to those found on the B'mers.
The display unit is awesome too. has a slight angled bevel on it, so butt's up to the windscreen very well in deed.
Not that i work for VEBA as a Project manager or anything.... :D
I can get pictures of each part of the kit if u like..
Yes please.
-
for 20mm you would need 20 1 mm thick washers
I did say it was a stupid question
-
Could you not remove drivers Grab handle and cover holes with blanking pieces..?
My mistake, it's not the grab handle, it's the headling frame around the sun-roof, I know this for certain as my head hit it again this morning. Poxy boodly sun-roof, I hate them
-
place washers under the front mountings
Jugdeing by your reply you've tried it, now he comes the really stupid question, how thick do the flat washer need to be gain the 12mm to 20mm I need, any ideas????
-
Has anybody or does anybody know where I can get hold of the drawings for the driver seat fixing brackets that fit between the driver seat and floor pan as I need to modifiy these brackets to gain approx 12mm to 20mm extra head room as I'm sick and fed up with my head keep hittig the driver side grab handle, why the hell Lexus put one there *** knows or does anybody know of a simpler way of lowering the seat. No jokes please.
Current seat fitted is the 8 way electric version. All height setting are at there lowest position

Hi Froomer, I live in Hornchurch, you'll have to get up really early in the morning to see me, travel East up the A127 at around 6.30am to a secert location and then return home late evening.

Mine is the same as that, Genuine Lexus Armrest, supplied with all brackets covers etc. and it's the sameone I rested my elbow on at a Lexus dealer this afternoon,
I can't see Lexus doing two types one UK and one for Main Land Europe
Lexus Price is over £300, I paid £255 and that was shipped from Japan
