you can removethe sticker by warming it with a hair drier to soften the glue. Then if needed get a stanley nife blade and start at a corner to lift it enough to grab with yer fingers and slowly pull it off. Youi may be left with the glue stuck to the window so use either glass cleaner or acetone( what the wife uses to take her nail varnish off) or any type of spirit based cleaner.. Hope it is some help to you B)

I know you chaps are helping me out here, I noticed it when climbing a hill at low rev's, just above a 1000 rpm. I know these cars can pull from such rpm.. It may sound silly but this is part of the characteristics of lexus which made me want one. just had another STELLA so excuse ones spelling...

I only noticed it because I had the window open for a change. Not changed fuel, fuel up with unleaded, at shell and texaco. it is not a bad pinking sound but it is there very slightly. Car needs filling up so will try different garage.

I am slightly confused, I only noticed it yesterday that when driving at low revs and accelerating the car seems to be pinking. I know these engines can pull at low revs but should it seem to pink. It is in for its 40K sercice tomorrow and the 3yr warranty expires 1st july, Have I got a problem or is it characteristic of these engines.?& is it covered under warranty? Also it has done it twice this week, it appears to turn over for a while before starting, could it want new pluggs? Hope you can understand what I am on about but me az had a few STELLAS while watching the .....................football. Hope you can help me before I take it for service.. TA!!!!!!!!!

I've put em back now, plastic on the inside, calipers look good though now they are painted. thanks 4 yer help matey!!!!!!

so I must have some missing then. I have 2 metal shims per side and only one plastic per side. does it matter?

can someone help me, I have taken the rear pads out of both sides and me is not sure which side the squeel shims go as were fitted differently to each other. there are two stainless ones on each side so that is obvious put wheredoes the other one with the arrow go, inner or outer pad? I have looked in the forums but cant find. I dont want to just put them in any old how, if so does it make any difference. Pads taken out coz me is painting the calipers. I woz going out on the lash with the wife but I changed my mind and told I would rather stay in. she has gone out with her mates so me is painting calipers and drinking stella. hee hee.

I live in Castleford and my lex is coming up for its 40k service, I phoned lex leeds and told me it would cost 380 squid, me thought it was a bit steep so I rang lex teesside they quote me 415 squid, told them I could get it cheaper so they dropped it hundred squid without arguement.( It is not a problem for me to go to Teesside as I have family up there). Leeds would only offer me 10% discount so how can teesside drop it by 100 quid? Has anyone had dealings with teesside as they are not on the discount list and me been the bloke that I am wants to know if I can get further discount been the LOC.

I have just bought a new chrome knob from lexus Teesside for 20 quid. A bloke I know said he may engrave it for me with whatever I want. sounds good.

thanks for the info, dont think i will bother with illuminated scuff plates. look nice though. hope the rain stays away as i want to paint my calipers. thats wot weekends are for are they not, playing with the lex and having a beer while you do it..

I fancy some of them illuminated scuff plates, them ones with the cool blue illumination. Any idea how much they are and where to get em as I think dealer prices will put me off, maybe! what about stainless ones (non illuminated ones) how much are these babies? also what clear laquer can i use on me calipers after i've put my stickers on and where can i get it. TA!

you want to try ebay for yer facia plate, also some second hand units . they are going pretty cheap. just go on ebay and search for :lexus is200: hope it is some help..

:D One was out playing on ones other toy, GSXR 600 today and purely by chance I passed the lexus in leeds, so I decided to purchase a chrome tail pipe and used me gold card and got it for 35 quid. Asked if I wanted it fitting, looked nat him puzzled as I had crash helmet and leathers on. also got some gold stickers(ordered them this morning from owners club, thanks to you guys) for me calipers as I want to do them black. I have matt black heat ressistant spray paint, so what laquer do I need when the stickers ave been put on? I thought gold stickers to match the gold plated badges what you think boys and girls?

my IS was classed as a parrallel import as it came from Ireland, I had a couple of months left of the lexus warranty. Cd player was playing up so I took it down to lexus leeds. They need your log book to register your car once that was done they ordered another cd player and replaced it no problem. It is also coming up to its 40k service just before the warrenty expires so if it needs anything under warrenty it will be covered. Prices for services vary alot from dealer to dealer, Quote from lexus leeds 380.00 Quote from lexus teesside at first was 415.00, told them I could get it done cheaper they droppped the price without any haggling to 315.00. hope this is helpful

not sure about first mod. I think I will paint the calipers, not sure what colour, thought about gold to match the gold plated badges. I want some of those stickers for the calipers. Where can I get them? I have to be careful with my spending on the lex as the wife wants a new car. Told her I am skint after buying the lex. tee hee

:P it has taken me along time to get one, instead of getting it three years ago i have bought cheap sheds, ie vectra sri, laguna sport. I went out to buy a jacket for gsxr 600 and spotted the se, well the wife did. She said if you want and can afford it buy coz she was sick of me bleating on about getting one. The only problem is that i wish it was from a dealer as the after care from the prestige centre it was from was rubbish. crap tyres were on it at the time so they put federals on it. Big mistake, it has cost me 450 for a set of dunlop sp9000. I won't winge anymore about the other problems I have experienced. The car is 100% now me thinks and I have gone gold.. May I take this oppertunity to thank the Lexus forums as they have been a great help in my purchase and the problems that I had. the car is an is 200 se. colour royal saphire it is an 01 Y plate mileage 37000 cost was 12300 me is very happy
