  1. Pre Cats have already been taken out by steve at Glossop, just thinking of taking out the main cat and replacing it with another pipe like SparkyStav has done, so at least i can put the main cat back on if need be for the MOT.

Sent you an email regarding the 02 simulator needed when cat has been taken out.. (will be supercharging when i have some £££ soon)

I don't sell them individually I suggest you have a look on fleabay .

you should be able to get a section to replace the cat easily.

I use pipe_werx from Ormskirk (again on fleabay) to make up bits for me they may be worth a shout

  2. you may run into emissions problems if you de cat the car all the way through.........

I was told VOSA are getting exxcitable about emissions and doing spot checks

Been told that recently, its pot luck tho.. well am thinking about it..

Prolex you have an email.. (as your PM inbox is full)

if it was me i'd get rid of the pre cats in the manifold and try to source a hi flow cat for the main cat

  3. Don't think you can. Lexus ECU's are pretty much locked down.

You'd be better advised looking at air ffilters or induction kits/manifolds/hi flow cats/cat back silencers all of these are available as well as body kits anti roll bars lowering springs/coilovers BBK's..............

  4. i take its not in the "one carefull owner" catagory then.....

    yes it is

    one carefull owner

and one not so carefull

actually it is a very good car, hard to thrash as it has loads of power and an auto

most modern day cars have rev limiters, which in theory keeps the engine within the parameters to which it has been built to run at

160mph in a car capable of 170-180mph is no problem

Dave drives like a fairy any way

agree I am a fairy and drive like one :whistling:

Car is a good un did not want to sell it ...would much rather have sold the IS350 and kept that as it has more character.

Actually negociating about buying a manual one from Japan with a 600 bhp single turbo conversion BUT need to sell the IS350 and have a hankering for a Masarati 4200 GT so will end up with a Piat Fanda knowing my luck............

  5. Don't ask me..................

I've been getting abusive text messages from an overweight busybody saying the owner is threatening legal action against me (which I've not heard anything from the new owner about BTW) funny thing is the price is £1k than I was paid for it.................if you do buy it sell the timing belt on as its got a HKS uprated one on it which was fitted in 2006.

Good car though been Nurburgringed, Time Attacked, Toyota Sprint series'd,Track day'd taken to 160 mph on autobahn/autostrada/autoroute and NEVER missed a beat

  6. They are exactly the same coilover made in the same factory, just marketed differently.

Not so as the UK dealer is same as K Sport and suggested these as better quality & spring rates are more suited for UK roads........

Got them (BC ) on my Soaer and well chuffed

  7. but the pistons are not that good and will probably melt at anything over 1 bar

    Not true,

theres plenty in oz/nz running more than a bar quite happily on stock internals.

Lets see how long you go at more than 1 bar then :whistling:

Twas Toyota thereselves who told me.............same for 3S-GTE

Don't forget.............you can go to 1.2 bar on standard internals............but never drive the car using the 1.2 bar........then you will be able to say "I run 1.2 bar on standard 1G-GTE internals" but you will not say I drive it like an old woman never at full throttle an only to shows/supermarket :winky:

Some poor sucker will read what he says & turn the boost up.......................drive it hard & hey ho melted piston etc .........original poster is fine he doesnt have the bill to pay ................

I think what Toyota say (also TRD/Fensport/TOM's et al) has some weight. Not some keyboard jockey

Hopefully you will be able to prove them all wrong when you go big single and manage a full on track day and 1 bar plus

Keyboard jockey lol lets not get into that.

i'm prob only running a bar with the big single so i wont be proving no-one wrong.

What do you mean Marc ? You calling me a keyboard jockey ?

Regarding your set up ....you are happy to suggest over 1 bar is fine...................but don't mention, until my post, that you will not be testing the theory ? IMHO thats whats wrong with a lot of forums.............ibby could have read what you said...............seen what you have done to your car................your number of posts.......thought mmmmmmmmmmm he knows what he is talking about & gone for it. When in fact you don't know what you are talking about are not going to do it and are not liable for any costs he MAY incur when his car goes pop.

All the 300 + BHP 1G-GTE's in Japan have diff pistons,HKS head gaskets, bigger injectors etc

I don't profess to be a engineer/mechanic etc However before I make a comment I try to make sure I have spoken to someone who does know what he/she is talking about before starting my tapping :winky:

  9. few photos from Woodbridge…….

Quite a fast track and the car did very well.

Struggled a lot with traction in most of the corners and a LSD is now my main priority I reckon I’d have gained 2/3 seconds a lap if I had one fitted.

Coilovers were on hardest setting and I need to raise the front by 15/20mm as it’s a tad too low as the third picture shows !

They reveresed the Barkston heath sprint circuit so was like visiting a new track.

Was hoping it was the normal course so I could see had bad I was compared to previous attempts.....

Will post some pictures up later along with times

  11. Guy from soarer world.

Picking it up tomorrow with cat 1 alarm fitted. getting it noise tested prior to first event.

only driven in 30 miles since getting it......................need some practice time and setting up coilovers

Where and when is you 1st event then ?

Think its £4 fpr spectators pop over to the TSS forum to pay your dosh if you want to see it get excluded at scrutineering :crybaby:
