  1. I'd suggest with hindsight using the phone number given may have been a better course of action Dave.

was at POFF with no phone................was last post as well

Maybe if Mr Daly had filled the order form in correctly then we would not have had this conversation

  2. May want to have a look here............at the details given to me..............you may notice something missing :whistling:

    Customer: shaun daly

Bit of background I ran out of 90 degree bends so had to get more in hence delay (they are a special type to fit under the bonnet)

Customer said that it was a X-Mas present so I emailed saying if the part came in i may drive over to deliver it do make X-Mas as it was I didnt get a response so went to POFF to post out.

When there POFF said the address needed a house number....I then noticed that the address was incomplete...........

PO said there were properties in the road as I had promised to try & get it there in time I told POFF to post to 61 and then emailed customer saying why I had done it.

    Emails below.

Lesson learnt will not bother to go the extra mile agian.

  3. ...do you know whats funny about all this....I haven't been on LOC for over two years, I come back and Dave and Gord are still bashing TDi like there is no tomorrow...don't you guys have any other hobbies?? I bet the T D and I been well warn off your keyboards?!

Seriously, you carry on like a bunch of kids in a playground, sad people in their back bedrooms with nothing better to do with their time! What makes me laugh even more is that you feel the need to dig up a thread thats over two years old....I thought I left all this kind of **** behind when I left school children! :D

Also I was always lead to believe that people who continually feel the need to have a pop at someone are either jealous or threatened by that person....dunno, maybe there is some merit in that?!

Anyway I love spending money...and I have spent a lot on my car over the years and loved every penny! But none of you have any idea what I did or didn't pay TDi for! I can't even believe I'm bothering to argue the point either...I have a car that is awesome to drive, end of story!

Oh and on the injectors note, Mark gave me the option to use the standard injectors but I was well aware that they would be pushed to their max capabilities...not something I wanted to risk...also I wanted everything in place for future power enhancements, so I didn't want injectors operating to their max duty cycle! I opted for the uprated injectors and FCON VPro as a personal choice....just in case you're having reading problems today I said me, myself, I opted for them!!

So, money to one side cause that doesn't bother me in the slightest....whats the bit that bugs you the most with this Gord...the fact that I chose TDi to work on my car....or the fact that the work carried out on it was successful? I'll tell you one thing...if TDi had ****** my car up, I would be the first person to come in here and let you all know, but since they haven't, why would I want to join in your bashing of them???

    Neil,

I've not said anything anti Tdi just stated a fact that the injectors they use (which you can buy for £45 each) have one hole while the ones I use have four like the OEM one. Its my opinion that that is why the tdi cars have starting problems and run rich.

I may be wrong but hey ho.

On your satisfaction with the work done I've been told different (by 3 different people who have spoken to you) but i try to deal in fact so until you say that you are unhappy I treat it as hearsay so would not make any comment accordingly.

Facts are that the vast majority of people who have had major work done there are not happy.

Could list them but TBH can't be arsed

  4. The injectors used by Tdi have one hole from which the petrol is squirted............the OEM lexus injectors have 4 holes...............as do the PE injectors.

Typing from my bedroom I may be wrong but hey ho...........I'd say the ecu is expecting the fuel to be delivered in a particuler manner ?

  5. I think the reason Toyota making a loss is such a big deal is because it's never happened before. Something like 70 continous years of profit (after their first year).

The likes of GM,Ford etc. regularly turn in a loss!

Made me look up I tell you.......................

Think 2009 will see some big names dissapear :whistling:

  6. For what its worth there is no way on earth you will get this done on the budget we have discussed.

If you want 3S-GE power chop yours in against a Tezza with it fitted and get a aftermarket turbo kit (trust.HKS/PE do them) or get the TOM's 280 on eBay...that may hold its value.

All I'd suggest bearing in mind what Mat has pointed out to you that you get something in writing regarding costs and delivery time or it may end in tears

Also the drive of your car will change drastically.............ask gord who has gone from a IS to a Altezza............lasted 3 weeks at most...................

No matter what you decide good luck

  7. a 3sgte will be interesting

whenever i looked into this there were issues which didnt seem easy to solve.

oil pick up is designed for transverse applications, so the sump(both parts), oil pick up, need swapping, the dizzy cap is in the wrong place so you need to go to electronic ignition and coil packs, from what i had read the head is ONLY designed for transverse applications, so the oil drains are in the wrong place when fitted longitudinally.....

manifolds will have to be custom made to fit into the engine bay as the transverse manifolds dont fit

the engine mounts are completely different, so custom is the only way ahead, you will be able to use the is200 6 speed gearbox, but im sure from when i was looking at doing this swap that you will need an altezza 3sge bell housing as the starter motor when fitted into the is200 bell housing will foul on the 3sgte components.

the propshaft will need modifications, and the gearbox will need reconfiguring into the 2nd position (set for 3sge)

the biggest issue will be the electronics, the ig-fe ecu will be expecting to see VVTI, Electrinic throttle control and varible inlet control signals.

all things which the 3sgte did not have, the splicing of the 3sgte into the multiplex electronics of the is200 will be intresting.

Truely good luck, ....but its not you doing it so Goodluck to ToyotaGT

    Sounds great mate,

Am i right in saying its basically a turbocharged Altezza engine. (3SGE) + the Turbo

    Stav

the Altezza head is completely different, the block oil gallery's are drilled different in the Altezza block as well as the oil needs to feed the VVTI operation of the cylinder head

the 2 part sump and oil pick ups are totally different between the Altezza 3sge and the mr2 3sgte

I agree Mat..............I remember there being an issue with the distributor as well.

Good luck lookforward to reading the updates

  8. why dont you go down the aristo/supra route the powers there instantly thats what ill be doing next year,i cant see the point personally of spending out 2k-5k just for more power on the IS,id hate to guess the amount sam has spent and the time hes been without his car

    Had both.............IS200 s/c...............then is200 turbo..................and toyota aristo v300 with 400 bhp

aristo is the dogs bollox BUT its fooking big you need to bear that in mind.................also only auto which is OK but for serious press on driving it keeps changing up when you don't want it..................

if you are a motorway driver all the time then its Aristo every time..............if you do lots of twisty road driving then its the IS200..............

Doing time attack & toyota sprint series in the aristo and my is350 i was 5/10 seconds quicker in the is350 every time.............is350 was 50 bhp down but much nimbler

also fuel on the Aristo driven hard is low teens..............against low twenties for the IS200

What size turbo was your is200 running Dave ?

    t28bb

  10. Looks like Lysholm S/C'd IS200 number two may be coming along soon...................

More than likely, just the i's to dot and the t's to cross :whistling:

I did say it is a deal with the devil.............

    you have mail :whistling:

@ Gord the rotrex has no brackets made no piping made..............the tdi one has no drawings so will have to be done from scratch watch the ££££££££££££'s pile on

@ Stav its not like for like..............second hand 90's technology against 2008 technology.............and new vs used unles you want to spend £5000 for a "new" TTE unit
