  1. Once you have had blind spot monitors it’s really a no brainer, something that helps me see something in my blind spot!
  2. Philip,it sounds like you have already made up your mind, let us know how your test drive goes,I bet the 18th can’t come soon enough!
  3. Better not show her the picture of golf clubs on the rear seats!
  4. Hello Philip, from one golfer to another yes the clubs will fit! My dealer loaned me a UX for a couple of days to see if it would work as like you I was unsure. I use two different ways to carry my clubs,if on my own I put the trolley and shoes etc in the boot and I drop the single seat and put my golf bag through,it’s a tour bag so very big and fits easily. If I’m going with my mate I put both trolleys in the boot and the two sets of clubs on the rear seats. Like you I looked at a few different larger cars but the UX was the one that won me over,I’ve got the F-Sport Takumi variant and it has all the toys and then some! let us know how you get on with your search.
  5. Just had my insurance quote and it’s gone up just over 20% this year making it £366 inc. protected NCD,legal cover and like for like hire car.
  6. Strangely enough mine did it today and like you mine was doing it last year in the hot spell, and yes it does not sound good at all.Mine goes in for its service soon so I will mention it and see what they say.
  7. Like you I carry my dog or golf clubs on my rear seats,I purchased a couple of these from Amazon they are called ORETG45 rear seat covers they were around £15 each, they have flaps on them which on the upright I push under the headrest and on the seat I push the flap between the cushion ,they never seem to move and the seats underneath are like new.
  8. Before I purchased my F-sport I test drove the std. and F-sport versions,I had both for 24 hours so not very long but enough for me to get a feel for both cars.As you said the F-sport seats are more form fitting whilst the std. seats are extremely comfy but slightly wider,,as for the AVS I use this in conjunction with the sport mode and use the paddles to simulate gear change, this is great fun but I only use it occasionally,as for ground clearance I’ve no idea but when used it certainly firms the car up,as we know it’s not a sports car but it does put a smile on my face.I would say I’m glad I went for the F-sport as I like the looks but 9 times out of 10 I put it in drive and let the CVT do it’s job.
  9. Hi Bill, yes they are fitted as standard but I’ve added extra ones to protect the sill as it was getting scratched slightly.
  10. Forgot to add they came from Fanfauto store and cost £18 plus £5 p&p.
  11. Sorry can’t help with one’s sourced from the UK but I purchased these from Aliexpress and they do the job and look nice but they don’t fit particularly well.
  12. Yes you are right the back of the CHR is very dark and with the slanted windows could be a bit claustrophobic.I very rarely carry rear passengers so not a problem for me.I do remember the first time I saw a CHR in the showroom and I thought why didn’t they put a lighter colour headliner in to brighten the cars interior up.
  13. We had a new CHR Dynamic top of the range for 3 years and in that time it was faultless apart from two annoying faults, the first was in those 3 years it had 2 new batteries replaced by Toyota f.o.c and the second fault which the Toyota service manager said was a known fault was excessive moisture in the car/windscreen,I’ve never had a car with so much moisture in it,the windscreen would ice up inside frequently in the winter. The car was very economical returning over 60 mpg at times and was a joy to own (apart from the 2 faults mentioned). It’s hard to have a true comparison because at the end of the day there is a big price difference but the CHR is a very capable and smart looking car,it’s very well equipped and the boot is much bigger than the UX,as for comfort the seats in both cars are good with the UX edging it.It’s a hard choice but I think your wife would be happy with either.
  14. I WANT a record player in my car now! As for using the “extras’ in cars it’s true that you don’t need them but sometimes they are nice.My wife’s car has none of the aforementioned extras but gets from A to B the same as my car!
