  1. Hmm, you certainly got a bargain! How is the front section of the exhaust? It was blowing between the o2 sensors on the Y pipe when I owned the car. Glad it's mot'd and back on the road, enjoy.
  2. Sunroof frame is rusted on mine too, and o/s rear window cloudy. Luckily the w/bone bushes have been replaced and the wheels look suspiciously clean so I'd say they have already been refurbished too.
  3. Still all good on the suspension front, I may as well move on to the next issue, there is quite a list. Steering wheel doesn't move. Sat nav dvd player. Rear shelf sub woofer. Exterior lock button on the drivers door. Front parking sensor. O/S headlight squirtie. A/C leak. Maybe a very slight leak from one of the exhaust manifolds, only noticeable from outside the car. I'll probably look at the steering wheel first, if it were your car what order would you tackle the jobs in?
  4. I managed to track down the business selling the part on eBay and yesterday, around 3 pm, paid cash straight into his bank. Fairplay to the bloke the parcel was waiting for me when I finished work today at 2 pm. I've fitted it and, so far, the car hasn't lost any height. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1WxABAbPancsblOZrJBmnHt75kjxFhLgv/view?usp=drivesdk
  5. So I went ahead and replaced the valve module and, fingers crossed, it seems to have solved the problem. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1WxABAbPancsblOZrJBmnHt75kjxFhLgv/view?usp=drivesdk
  6. No longer required as I've just purchased the one linked to above, I did pop into my local main dealer but they wanted over £500 instead of the £274.88 I've just paid. Fingers crossed, A, that it turns up and B, that it fixes the suspension issue...
  7. Yep, and today after closer inspection I have found this part to be leaking from the plastic housing, caused by it's metal bracket corroding. The shock is a sealed unit filled with oil, there maybe some electrical magic added to adjust the firmness. The 'spring' is the airbag which is controlled by the valves I linked to above, they are mounted externally and adjust the amount of pressure in each bag accordingly.
  8. I've just had a closer look at the rear distribution valve and it is leaking very slightly, from where the plastic is in contact with the (corroding) metal bracket. They have the part on fleabay but I don't really want to spend almost £300 just to then uncover another issue with the suspension... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-Lexus-LS430-Air-Suspension-Rear-Valve-Block-Height-Control-No-2-4809650040/203335283824?epid=1713774933&hash=item2f57ba3470:g:0yMAAOSwXXpgaL3O
  9. I'm looking for a good used part rather than new, just incase there are other issues... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-Lexus-LS430-Air-Suspension-Rear-Valve-Block-Height-Control-No-2-4809650040/203335283824?epid=1713774933&hash=item2f57ba3470:g:0yMAAOSwXXpgaL3O
  10. As I mentioned above, there is a unit under the rear of the car, near the diff. This has two valves on it that, I guess, control the amount of air going to the struts. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-Lexus-LS430-Air-Suspension-Rear-Valve-Block-Height-Control-No-2-4809650040/203335283824?epid=1713774933&hash=item2f57ba3470:g:0yMAAOSwXXpgaL3O Edit:- Just found the unit online.
  11. I've been looking at BC coilovers for £787.55 but don't want to ruin the ride, I would rather try and find where ever the leak is coming from and keep the car standard. https://www.driftworks.com/bc-coilovers-for-lexus-ls430-00-07.html?gclid=Cj0KCQjwsLWDBhCmARIsAPSL3_3GOLwx7fPPhxfUBg9L9KfyVGUiPd9ABUvKJflrtK_9owGsqYkCObIaAt1UEALw_wcB
  12. I'm not meaning to be rude, just curious! I'll be 45 next month.
  13. Hmmm, me too. Is there a maximum size? I've looked for a 'faq' area on the site but to no avail...
  14. Fortiswick old boy, you simply aren't trying hard enough. Seriously though I think it's always a good idea to find out the limits of a new car, that way you have more of an idea of how it will handle if you ever need to take emergency avoiding action. What car did you have before the RX? I've always been a Vauxhall man, Cavalier CDX, Vectra 'B' CDX, and I've just kicked the Omega habit, I had somewhere between 20 to 30 of them.... Anyway, I hope you are able to enjoy your new car for many more years to come. Cheers, Rich.
  15. The rear suspension does inflate when the engine is started, the system also reacts to the different modes as selected from the dash switches, it just deflates at the rear within 5-10 minutes of switching off. On another note I had the a/c re-gassed today and the man only wanted to put in 650g, I mentioned that I had read it should be closer to 950 for cars with rear a/c and he checked another source to confirm! He also said that his machine had recovered no gas from my car so I guess there maybe a leak from somewhere, although for now it's blowing icy cold.
  16. Just finished removing the o/s r wheel arch liner to clean and also inspect the strut, also checked the pipe work and the rear distribution valve, all appear leak free. I plan on removing the underbody plastic covers to check the pipes running along the body but I don't expect to find any issues...
  17. Thank you for that, I found the height sensors but they just measure each corner of the car and send an electrical signal to the controller, there are no air lines on them so they are not a valve. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1UxovRSfZnNsN9LFi-Sx68AvdoztEnb9X/view?usp=drivesdk
  18. I also had a close look at the strut it's self and sprayed soapy water everywhere, no obvious sign of a leak. The following picture shows the archliner, there are 5, 10 m.m. nuts that are hard to see, three across the front edge and two on the top, you can see the big circles in the sound absorbing pad... https://drive.google.com/file/d/1UW5kAI6CjomUoOjhpJRfwmgBD6sPEAzW/view?usp=drivesdk

  22. ...a picture showing how it should sit. Yesterday I stripped out the passenger side rear wheel arch area to try and find some valve, nothing there but it did give me a chance to remove some of the crud that builds up, I was impressed by how solid the car is...
