  1. Doughnuts all around then? 😂
  2. Just noticed these two. Firstly, how low can you go! Check the lights out too, I could seriously do with some of them. ******* "Some people say", that Neil's X1OUT is the most powerful SC430 out there.
  3. Hi Neil Thanks, I hope you had a good Christmas, I wondered if it was you on the track putting X1OUT through its paces!
  4. I know what you mean, we suffer with no lights on local roads, that's why upgrading all my vehicle lighting was a priority! Now not bad for a vehicle that is over 15 years old. Anthony
  5. That's ot bad its only a couple of months! 😁
  6. No Glyn....you are probably normal but not if you get a Lexus tattoo because I want one first! 🤣
  7. My good friend and neighbour Darren drove my car for me this morning as I am currently unable to. We went out for about 90 minutes and that will have circulated all the fluids, exercised the brakes and all the joints a work out. Shame the weather was poor drizzling at best, raining heavy at worst! Holme Moss in the pennines! Looking down on Holmfirth! 20221230_103230.mp4 Driving down home! Hope you enjoy the pictures as I enjoyed to journey. He was well impressed by the SC but not surprising as he drives a Tesla and his toy is a MX5! Anthony
  8. Nice pen and brolly, genuine Lexus, by the looks. Also a cargo net, great accessory! Thanks for sharing, Anthony
  9. Hey Perry I have garage envy looking at all that room you have behind your car when the door is down! 🤣
  10. Well done Perry, you used your ingenuity to make it look like a professional job! No pictures of your Lexus Pen or brolly? Were they presents from your other half? What is next on the horizon?, the sky's the limit! Anthony
  11. My SC has that very light grey boot upholstery, which is probably the worst colour there is! Matching luggage would be impractical and would look scruffy in no time! So black or brown would be better. There is a small leather goods shop Marsden (next village) which I have used, who are perfectionists and make their own goods. I might speak to them in the new year. I will give an update Anthony
  12. Caught red handed! It was the first day I was allowed to go into the garage, only for a limited period if I dressed up warm and spent the majority of my time sat down and let Lexiguy Junior do the leg work! We dropped the door down and I inadvertently forgot the sitting down bit! 😂 I always have to push the boundaries! Anthony
  13. I noticed a paint bubble on the osr roof pillar and after a close inspection all around the roof there were two. When it was pressed it was moisture under the paint. I took a pin and pricked the bottom of both the bubbles to allow any moisture trapped to exit the area. I believe that like the roof, this rear screen frame was painted before I bought it and is made of aluminium. I suppose when the weather gets warm and dry the loose tops need removing and touching up. Regards, Anthony
  14. The luggage is very lightweight and is made of a thin nylon type material. Dissapointingly the bags have no supporting framework and no extra pockets. I tried the luggage this morning and it fits well with space all around to handle both bags being packed to busting. On each side of the front bag in the space behind the rear light clusters has capacity to put extra bags probably 12" x 12" x 12". I believe it is expensive for what they are but it is the only product on the market I am aware of and it will be interesting to see how it stands up to use! The only option to consider is now I have the templates it would be possible to have a specialist leather worker to make some bespoke bags. Not cheap I'm sure but they could look, feel and smell brilliant. Anthony
  15. Hi guys I must have been very good this year as my SC430 obsession has been encouraged with all sorts of goodies. I do regard myself as really fortunate after recent events just to be here enjoying all the fun and festivities. Firstly, with not being used for weeks on end I need to keep my battery trickle charged. Secondly, the last thing I want to do is bang my head on the boot lid because of the lazy struts. Thirdly, tailormade luggage bags which fits the strange design of the boot area. I hope you guys have been good too and your passion for all things Lexus SC430 has been satisfied this Christmas, if not you will just have to treat yourself! Seasons Greetings, Anthony
  16. Hi Norm Welcome to Lexus Owners Club, I hope you become a regular contributer to our friendly forum. We meet in June in Coventry and I'm sure a great time will be had by all. Its a time to look around probably the largest amount of SC430's ever assembled in the UK. Also without doubt the biggest SC430 knowledge pool ever. You don't say where abouts you live, if you did, local help or suggestions may be offered. Good luck with your enquiry, I am sorry that I have never heard of this concern before but I'm sure you will get some answers. Regards, Anthony
  17. Hi Ray These are my thoughts and I'm sure you have had some of them. Firstly it is not a safe engine and the possible implications of the belt breaking would require expensive repair. Are there any entries in the service book, an engine sticker or documents which indicate when the belt was last changed as it would be surprising and worrying if it was running on its original. Who previously changed the belt can also be of concern as a documented change by a Lexus Dealer would give most owners more confidence. I have found Lexus dealers are very helpful and will check your vehicle on the lexus system for a previous change and give you the benefit of their thoughts. Good luck, Anthony
  18. Hi guys Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers it is appreciated. I am not a patient patient more inpatient especially when I was an inpatient! It is true but enough of that silliness, I continue to improve most days by stretching my capabilities like improving my speech and diction, improving my walking and gait, also exercising my facial muscles to look more normal. Surprise surprise my goal is to be in Coventry in June with you guys and I believe that is totally possible. I have booked the room, I don't know who is more excited me or Lexiguy Junior.
  19. Hi Len Thanks for that lessen in TPMS systems and what alters their lifespan. Perhaps it should be included as a workshop topic for the SC430 weekend next June. Anthony
  20. The diagnosis was a fault in the osf TPMS sensor which was renewed and the system was reset. Now has no warning light....result! In the 18months I have owned this car I have had 3 of the 4 sensors renewed. Perhaps they have a lifespan and there time is up, so 1 to go I reckon! Anthony
  21. Thanks for your kind thoughts, Yes not good news, on Tuesday 22nd November I was fitting a loft access ladder in the garage and my step ladders toppled over sideways and I fell hitting my head on the floor . I woke up in a pool of blood which was pouring from my head, my nose and my left ear. Claire and Tom took me to the hospital, I don't know how they got me in the car but a good job they did as they were told that the ambulance waiting time was 5 hours! I dont remember it but I was rushed into A&E and subsequently diagnosed as having a fractured skull and a bruised brain. Claire said that when I arrived at hospital the doctor who saw me initially told her to expect the worst as she could lose me. Now that was a sobering thought...how near I obviously was! I spent 4 days in hospital and on discharge was told I couldn't drive for at least 6 weeks, but it transpires that it could be as much as 6 or 12 months. Reports from GP, ENT consultant, Eye specialist and the neurologist fill form the basis of the decision by the DVLA. 🤞 On return home I was walking with a frame and doped up on strong pain killers including morphine. My face was all numb on the left like I have had a stroke or Bells Palsy and carers were coming twice a day to get me downstairs in a morning and upstairs at night. I am determined to get myself right again and I am told my progress has been excellent. I am now pain free, mobilising with one stick, my facial droop is still there but has improved, so has my speech and sight. I saw the ENT consultant on Tuesday and after removing a massive plug of dried blood, I can now hear in stereo despite having a torn ear drum which is healing One bonus is that I can still order Lexus bits on the Internet, also I can stand at any front window, open the garage door to look at my car which makes me smile (lopsidedly) and spurs me on to improvement! I am so fortunate in so many ways. So remember guys......Live every day to the full guys! 20220819_100047.mp4
  22. The guys at Lexus Leeds are absolutely top notch! 👍 My car was in today and was collected and delivered due to me not being allowed to drive because of a recent accident, sustained injuries and health problems. 🤕 Yesterday afternoon they brought my car back after repair with 3 presents. A Lexus bear, flowers and the invoice. All of them were generous and kind! 😃 I gave the Lexus bear to my youngest who was over the moon, the flowers were claimed by my wife and I was left happy and smiling after paying the invoice. Win, win, win! 😊 My heartfelt thanks and appreciation go to the professional, efficient, polite and kind staff who consistently deliver the above. 🤝 Anthony
  23. It is sometimes a fact that even if you know what all the buttons do and the reset procedure the tpms warning light remains on. I do think that a warning light is there for a reason and feel unhappy to disconnect it. That is the current situation with my vehicle and so on Friday, Lexus Leeds will be collecting it to fully resolve the problem. I am bracing myself for what could be an expensive repair! I will let you know 😟 Anthony
  24. Hi Glynn I have often thought an SC430 would look great with front and rear windows dropped without the roof being down. Like an American muscle car. I remember seeing an American electrical specialist post a YouTube clip that made this possible by an electrical modification That mod of being able to control the rear windows independent of the roof mechanism would probably be the answer to both. I wonder if Calvin (SC430 MODS) has ever investigated this and found a method of achieving it. Keep us informed. Anthony
  25. My car has a service plan and I use Lexus Leeds who are part of the Vantage Group. I have nothing but praise for the dealership and all the staff but they use a central call centre to book vehicles in for work which is less than ideal. I have met most of the problems identified earlier in the thread and commiserate with all you out there that have to suffer it. I find it best to call in or email a service advisor with the request and ask for a call back to confirm. Good luck guys, Anthony
