  1. Worst decision I ever made: buying an RZ. Best decision I ever made: Buying on a 2 year PCP so they can have the overpriced piece of junk back next May
  2. Exeter? From my experience they would be bottom. Service department is dire. As I say, my experience but based on a lot of poor service.
  3. Bob, how did you book this. I was thinking of doing it for a longish trip in September but my dealer hasn't a clue. Did you just email Lexus Reserve?
  4. If you are using the M4, there a lot of chargers just off the Motorway. Bristol for example have many but Ionity at Chippenham Pit Stop is literally 1/2 mile of the M4 and only a couple of miles or so from Leigh Delemere is usually good and I've never had to wait. Leigh Delemere eastbound only has 4 and usually full or not working but westbound has 6 or 8 and never had to wait. There are many chargers just of the motorway which are a better bet when you are on a longer trip.
  5. Bob, just spoke to my dealer who confirms I could have a car for up to 2 weeks each year. As I bought the car last June he said I need to get a move on if I want one for 2 weeks before June comes around. He said they only found out 2 weeks ago about this scheme which I find hard to believe.
  6. Although I think this is a good move, I don't think it is a good look for either Lexus or ev's in particular. "Buy a 72k Lexus and we'll lend you a car for when you want to travel somewhere" Can't wait to see the response from the anti ev lobby and press when they find out.
  7. Go into the menu for trip information and press update. This resets it. I always do it before a long trip to see what the car does. Also, after a trip when you switch off if you look at the centre screen it always says what your current trip is in miles/kwh irrespective of whether or not you have reset the trip meter. Doesn't stay there long though.
  8. Lexus fitted front and rear cameras to my NX450+ and I never had a problem with DAB or indeed anything else.
  9. I bought my RZ in June 23 and I got the second key and locking wheel nuts in January. Might be a bit quicker now
  10. Bob, well it could be worse. At least second hand prices have remained stable for the last 2 weeks. Mine is still worth 40k after 9 months!. That's if you could find somebody to take it off you. My dealers says they are reluctant to take any RZ's in px at the moment. That's confidence for you.
  11. It goes off automatically after a few days.
  12. Bob the only time it worked for me was when there was nothing behind me on the motorway. Just a gimmick to me. You don't have to manually enter chargers as POI. You just go into the menu once and say what you want- could be restaurants, petrol stations or whatever and it always displays them on the map. My map always shows icons for ev chargers wherever I am
  13. Bob. the lane change function is available in the RZ but I've yet to get it to work satisfactory. I also had it in the NX 450+ Takumi I sold last year and that worked some of the time. The idea is you hold the indicator stalk down lightly part way and if the road is clear it moves you over. Most of the time a a message on the screen says function not available or something like that. With regards chargers, you can add them in the map as -I think- POI and if you press it will navigate you to it. I had a low battery warning come on the other day and it automatically came up with a list of chargers which it would navigate to. As you say, it didn't tell you if they are available.
  14. Bob, I'm looking at the Telegraph now but I can't see the article in the car section. Can you point me in the right direction? Forget it, I've just found it. Senior moment I'm afraid
  15. Every new Lexus I have bought has had the tyres overinflated on pick up. The RZ pressures should be 2.6 bar front and 2.4 bar rear. At the handover I checked and they were 2.9 bar all round. I mentioned this and they took it to the workshop to adjust and they came back at 2.7 bar all round which they say is the manufacturers spec. It's not so I gave up and adjusted myself as I always do after pick up. As for things being checked at the PDI, well that's a story for another day!
  16. I would be amazed if they lower the VAT rate to 10% on new ev's but you never know.
  17. If you can get one with a huge discount it's a no brainer. But do not pay list price or anywhere near that.
  18. Yes, first ev. Am I pleased with my Lexus?. Short answer is no for many reasons I won't go into here but my previous posts highlight some of the issues. Suffice to say Lexus should never have put this car on sale with the numerous issues it has had. The software update has made a significant improvement which they could have done last April and would probably have made a difference to my view.
  19. You are so right Paul. I've just had my council tax bill for the new year and they have put a £30 levy to help fund their gold plated pensions. Yet my private pension was reduced after a certain Mr Brown withdrew dividend tax credit all those years ago which finished off DB pension in the private sector years ago. I know this is not the place for this type of conversation but it annoys me that I have to fund a gold plated public sector pension out of my reduced private sector pension. Rant over and mods feel free to delete my post if you think it is inappropriate.
  20. Did a 100 mile trip from Bristol yesterday mainly motorway at a steady 60mph. 8 deg temperature and raining most of the way so wipers, ac and lights on. Worked out at 2.9miles/kwh which I thought was good for this car in these conditions. On a previous trip from the Reading area a couple of weeks before in better conditions again mostly motorway I got 3.2miles/kwh. Since the update I have also been getting up to 3.5miles/kwh from local driving which I got nowhere near before so overall pleased with the update which has made a significant difference.
  21. Range test of 12 ev's including UX300 e and RZ 450e. No prizes guessing what came last. Albeit this was before the new software update for the RZ although I expect the result wouldl be similar
  22. I have always had to press mine in the middle to get it to close and sometimes it takes a couple of goes. Didn't realise it was a known issue so your dealer is obviously better than mine as they told me it was normal. I'll mention it again when I go in. Surprised you are getting the locking wheel nuts so quick. Mine are not available yet and I've had the car since last June. Just another thing to mention to the dealer
  23. Yes, I found out today and i'm having it done tomorrow
  24. Thanks Colin for rubbing it in! I'm told by Lexus CS that the imminent software update will "significantly improve the range and useability of the car". I hope they are right because this long term Lexus owner is very annoyed with Lexus for releasing this car for sale without the updates they have had in the pipeline since last April.
  25. Bob, I wish I could get anywhere near that. We went to Tesco this morning 9 miles away in 30/40mph roads. No aircon but heated seat/radiant heater on and in eco mode. Got 2.4miles/kwh. The dealer says this is normal. I think I will get him to look at this forum again then perhaps he might take me seriously.
