  1. Bob, I did refresh it a number of times and it was showing 46% until about 10pm last night when it suddenly updated and also showed the actual location of the car. Just a glitch but something that shouldn't really happen. This app is so behind the competition it is embarrassing.
  2. This morning I went to a Pod Point charger and the app was showing 46% charge. After 2 hours of charging it was still showing 46% although the range had increased in the car. Now, some hours later it is still on 46%. Not looking good is it?
  3. Bob, just one comment. Every Lexus I have ever bought has had massively overinflated tyres and the RZ was no exception. Usually I have an uncomfortable ride home until I get the pressures reduced . I therefore checked the RZ before I drove away I think from memory they were 3.3 bar all round and I asked them to reduce them before I drove the car away. They duly did but set them to 3 bar all round! As you say, reducing the pressures makes a difference. Why they can't get the tyres right at the PDI is another Lexus mystery.
  4. I'm Android version 4.18.0 updated on 14 July.It says this update includes "plan your journey" and "send to car" but it doesn't
  5. No update for my app yet Bob. Still the same useless app it has always been. It beggars belief that Toyota/Lexus cannot get a basic thing such as this to work. We can all live in hope they will provide a descent app one day but I won't hold my breath.
  6. Colin you are right. Locking wheel nuts were always fitted in the UK. It used to be in Portbury up to a few years ago and then the dealers started fitting them at the PDI prior to delivery after the Portbury facility closed. I really cannot understand why wheel nuts cannot be sourced in the UK.
  7. When I bought the NX450 plug in March 22, it came with 2 keys and the card key and locking wheel nuts. I was told by my dealer that all cars this year will be initially supplied with one key because of a shortage of components and that the second key will have to be ordered. They also told me that Lexus have stopped supplying locking wheel nuts to all new cars and even told me my NX wasn't supplied with them when clearly it was. I subsequently spoke to Lexus CS who told me locking wheel nuts will be supplied to all cars supplied without them by the year end and the second key within 3 months or so. Of course, i then have a 200 mile trip to get them fitted and the key programmed.
  8. Interestingly, I've done a couple of longish trips on the Motorway at a steady 60mph (I don't drive fast these days) in econ and with the ac on as and when needed. I'm getting 2.9m/kwh which is around 185miles. I haven't had a problem charging on the motorway -yet. However, for the last couple of weeks I have been driving locally on 30/40mph roads and I am struggling to get above 3m/kwh for some reason . I know the forthcoming software update will increase the range as they are reducing the buffer.
  9. I had a charger fitted free by Lexus when I bought the NX450 last year. Not sure if there are any deals available with them now but you could always ask . Otherwise be prepared to pay £1000 or so for a charger. With regards to issues, there is absolutely no problem with build quality and it is what you would expect from a Lexus. Most of my issues have been niggly ones mainly with the software but also intermittent charging issues on ac which will eventually be sorted. It doesn't stop me using the car. I always wanted an electric car and as i have always owned Lexus I waited for this to arrive. I thought long and hard before I bought it and overall it is not a bad car but I think it is overpriced for what it is. I'm still a bit peeved that I only have one key at the moment which is inconvenient and no locking wheel nuts until the end of the year but again, it will eventually be sorted As always, my opinion and I would suggest a good test drive so you can make your mind up. Good luck!
  10. Colin, I have been discussing this and a number of other issues with Lexus CS. I can't say much at the moment but I will report back when I am able. I was initially told by CS that I wasn't plugging it in right which was puzzling because I never had a problem plugging in my NX450 using the same chargers. I should add that the dealer has admitted that none of their technicians have a clue about this car as they have had no training. All queries have to go via them to Lexus CS which further delays any response
  11. I have had intermittent ac charging problems from day one which also happened on the demo car I had. It either works or you get a loud clicking noise for ages and I have to keep unplugging and plugging in again. I have reported this to Lexus but they don't seem to think it is a problem but as I can still charge with a bit of faffing around it will have to wait until I can take the car in which is a 200mile or so return journey. I'm beginning to think my long association with Lexus will soon be over.
  12. Probably off topic but I'm glad you can wash your car. We've had an hosepipe ban for the last year despite the highest ever rainfall in July and now August. Yes, I could fill a bucket but it is not the same and our local car washes are rubbish.
  13. As I said Bob, I don't think the Ultrasuede is bad, just that in my opinion leather for a Lexus is much better and feels more upmarket especially for the price of the RZ. By the way, have you had any update on the spare key and locking wheel nuts? I've told I should get the key next month and the wheel nuts at the year end, Why the wheel nuts take so long is a mystery to me
  14. Mine is Greyscale colour. Don't get me wrong it is not bad but I think leather is more appropriate. A neighbour has just picked up a Merc EQC and sitting inside I thought it looked better. I was more envious though of the software which is miles better than the RZ in all areas. For example it gives a detailed breakdown as to where the energy is being used such as aircon etc plus % soc and other things I think would be useful. Also, if you put a destination in the satnav which is greater than the range, it suggests charging point stops on the route which sadly the RZ doesn't do. Perhaps a forthcoming software update?
  15. The only thing I disagree with is the seats. I really think a car of this price point should have leather seats like all the premium competition. To me they look cheap but of course that is just my opinion and others will obviously like them.
  16. Bob, did you make a note of how many miles per kw hour were showing on the dash? I tend you use this as a gauge for how much range I can get. Struggling to get over 3m/kwh on current 30mph local journeys and it is settling at about 2.9m/kwh on 60mph motorway journeys.
  17. Could be but still a wide variation in price
  18. 68? A mere youngster! Seriously though I can't see why there should be such a wide price variation. I've used Saga for years and always found them competitive. I was expecting them to turn down the RZ as a new car but they quoted without hesitation. My wife is also on the policy which I am told reduces the prices and it is also garaged overnight which I presume lowers the premium. But there should not be that much variation in price so I am baffled.
  19. All I can say is wow. That's a rip off. Why is mine so cheap. Apart from being an old codger!
  20. I paid £395 in March to renew the insurance on my NX 450 plug in. When I bought the RZ Takumi 2 months ago I was quoted and I paid £537 for the year. All with Saga.
  21. That's why i'm glad I've got dash cams fitted. They can show up some interesting things!
  22. Mine shows 196 miles with ac and 246 without ac on a full charge. Is this a demo car? The demo car I had showed I think 160 miles and an efficiency of 2.3m/kwh. I have never seen efficiency this low and just assumed the car had been hammered on the test drives
  23. Bob. Just another thought. On every Lexus I have owned prior to the NX I bought last year I have left the ac on permanently because that's how I used to like it. With the NX, the ac wouldn't stay on by default and it was always turned off when I restarted the car. I checked with Lexus and they said that as the NX always starts off in ev mode, the ac was off by default to preserve the battery. I can understand this logic. However, it makes no sense for a full ev to have the ac on permanently if you want to preserve battery range. I'll see if I can dig out the email reply I had from them. Your dealer is talking rubbish and as I say, mine is off unless I turn it on. I would get back to them and tell them to sort it out. As for losing confidence in Lexus, join the club. I have sent 3 emails to Lexus cs over the last month and so far no reply. The dealer is little better in responding to things unless you keep pushing. Always came back quickly before I bought the car though.
  24. What update for the map? Is this a dealer update or over the air?
  25. Hi Bob I have mine set to climate concierge and auto which I always leave like that. The AC definitely does not come on unless I switch it on manually. I only switch it on if the car is misting up in rain or if the boss is too hot. I've just tried it with auto and climate concierge switched off and I can put just the fan on with no AC on. I tried Android auto but I find it a faff having to plug it in each time so I just use the normal screen which I find ok.
