  1. Yes it is. I’ve got to be in the right place and in the right mood. I nearly always turn it off if I’ve got somebody in the car.
  2. I might have said that until recently but with the surround sound and the sub, I’ve never let my music rip so much since I’ve had the ML system. I have a 25 mile commute through mostly sticks where I won’t disturb anyone.
  3. There’s a YouTube video where he claims it’s surprisingly good.
  4. I can tell you categorically that it is. Lexus have finished building the 250h so it’s just a question of depleting UK stocks. There will be a few changes to the spec too but mainly the Mk5 powertrain, digital dash and electronic gear shift.
  5. Mine still has a mind of its own. Sometimes it connects and others I have to mess accepting or rejecting terms etc. it’s a clunky system, far from perfect.
  6. People running NX450+ and RZ,s complaining about other people’s pension eh? It’s a despicable entitled culture we live in these days and I can’t for the life of me understand the logic. I’ve got one of those pensions and if I lost it, I’d be routing for those still with one to keep it, not lose it too but that’s the world we live in. We’ll have to hope people running old Vauxhalls don’t wish Lexus owners bad luck. The neighbour hit a pot hole in her Mazda coming to the airport for me and it ruined a nearly new all season tyre. That was several weeks ago and they’re still fighting it. Of course there will be people claiming free tyres in bogus claims which won’t help the cause but we can deflect that by blaming pensions.
  7. Why is there a safety issue going forward? Explain how this happens. Explain this please. Where and how do the pads stick on the disc?
  8. I think terraclean is more for carbon fouling Phil. This is more likely to be inside the engine. I’ll pass it on.
  9. Thanks Colin. I’m finding stuff on the subject and it’s becoming apparent. At one time I would have pulled it all apart but those days are gone so I’ll feed it back. Once an engine gets to that state, it’s usually beyond recovery without major surgery to get the carbon out so prevention is better than cure with regular oil changes and good quality fuel. Cheers Colin.
  10. Hi folks. Got a mate with a 1.8 CT on an 11 plate with pushing 100k on it. He’s had it a long time but for the last couple of years it’s started using about 2 litres per 1000 miles of proper 0/20 oil. No leaks or smoke. Before I delve into it, is this a common issue on this engine? A search is bringing up anything but useful information.
  11. They’re having to circumnavigate Africa thanks to the Red Sea trouble.
  12. A good paint supplier will have a set of swatches on a ring. Tell them grey and you’ll get about 50 shades (that’s where I’ve heard it before!) and you’ll find something so close you won’t be able to tell.
  13. I think the bottom line is, have a go and see if it shouts at you then decide 👍
  14. If you like it that’s good but I’d rather have something a bit more substantial like the moulded things you get in most other cars. There’s a lot of noise comes from the boot and it would help keep it out.
  15. It’s nasty tat really Brent, not at all worthy of a Lexus in my opinion. There are much better designs than that on very ordinary cars. I use mine most of the time and can fold it dead easy now.
  16. You could do worse than spen four euros on Lexus techdoc where you can trace the wiring back to source. It probably has a sub loom rather than a complete one.
  17. They’ve done it. Are you ignoring the post above? As for anything JLR, it might as well be stolen because it’ll be at the dealer more than in your possession.
  18. Off you trot to BMW where everything is super and perfect. Good job you’re on a high income, you’ll need it 👍
  19. If you are fussy like me. I’d get a touch up from Lexus and have a go. Don’t rub it down just touch it in. If that isn’t to your liking go to a body shop where he’ll just repair your touch up with it.
  20. I accept they might be good but things like that shout at me! I did put my ocd to one side and tried a set but I couldn’t get them to stop skipping and clunking on the direction change. It’s not a “tried it at school and didn’t like it” situation, I tried it at some expense and they ended up in the bin. I get the proper Denso ones from carparts4less and the next set is in my garage waiting. I’m very fussy so as soon as they streak or foam, they’re out.
  21. Hopefully the park under the bonnet like they do on a UX because they’ve got that big daft adapter stuck up in the middle.
  22. Correct. It’s a super engine. M15 three cylinder version of the M20 in our UXs.
  23. Of course your description of the people and their comments overrides your findings. You are right and they are wrong attitude. There are also paranoid trolls that claim being anonymous is necessary for their own safety despite the fact that they’ll come on here to make disparaging comments instead of not commenting at all. It says a lot. I’ve not had any problems with my terrible UX although there are things I’d improve in a hypothetical makeover. There’s a big difference between a car being faulty and finding you don’t like it but there’s no drama in that.
