It says in the text Scott that I’m not keen on the original five spoke wheels. It had those Jim shows above.

I do exactly the same. I’ve got the ML system which sounds really good. Don’t know if wiring it is actually better but it makes me feel like it.

I went round Jim but their F Sport didn’t have paddle shifters. However, I think it will be OK because the back is pretty much open. I’ve attached photos. If you get one you want the small size.

I tend not to use that either. Of course by having it wired it charges anyway.

Aye mine only connects when it feels like it. Sometimes unplugging and re plugging the phone does it (I prefer a wired connection).

No. Models that have a starter are fitted with a high cycle starter motor and a matching battery. Hybrid models don’t have a starter at all. They use MG1 (motor generator) to start the engine. If a car stops a hundred times in a line of traffic it does no harm to shut it down a hundred times. If you couldn’t hear it you wouldn’t know it had done it.

They should remove the ability to disable stop start. It won’t pass type approval without it so why allow it to be disabled. It doesn’t effect the operation one iota so what is the advantage of turning it off?

I’ve got a disklock and a neighbour has an F Soort. I’ll go try it at weekend.

I live in the mainly hilly area of Derbyshire and if I’m following something or just going as fast as I need, I knock it over into the manual gate. At “normal” speeds it defaults into position 4 which is often mistaken for 4th gear. It works in a similar way to gears but it is actually level 4 of engine braking OR power if you are accelerating. I drive mostly in normal mode and flick it into sport to pass something (and boy will it pass) but you can get a similar effect by using that manual shift. Is it dangerous or distracting? No is it thump, racing cars have similar things so I’m not having that. It’s just different to drive with and it is quite effective. Don’t knock until you’ve tried it they say but give it chance.

You only get the pretend noise on the F Sport models.

EV mode on the current gen 4 set up doesn’t amount to much but it will if we get a gen 5 version. I haven’t got paddles on mine but I frequently knock the shifter over into “selective” to hold the car back on hills.

Right, I’m with you now. Yes, the urgent UX has the V4 powertrain and needs up dating to V5 that’s true. I doubt that article is accurate because firstly, I’m not sure it will physically fit but it only needs the V5 mod to increase the power and the battery efficiency. In combination, there will be less revs, less noise, more power and much more input from the battery as the Corolla. It needs to be done soon or there’s no point before the next model. in any case, I find mine quite nippy and 8.7 seconds is fast enough to 60.

One minute a new engine, the next not. Conjecture and speculation comes to mind.

I want my Lexus quiet, not making daft noises! I actually find the F Sport seats more comfortable than the Takumi and I hate over bolstered seats.

The one thing I’m not over keen on are the standard five spoke wheels so I’ve been on the lookout for a set of sport wheels. I’ve found some on eBay and they will get my all season Goodyears next week. More pictures to follow.
