  1. You won’t get a spare wheel with the ES, just a can of goo. I assume it was the same with the BMW unless you had run flats? There is a solution, see the thread here if you’re interested-
  2. Try to get the dealer to update the software to include Apple Car Play/ Android auto F.O.C. if you can. Otherwise about £ 250 & the standard nav is the only thing I dislike about my ES 2019 (premium pack). I’ve probably owned 20+ cars over the last 15 years (Jags, Volvos, BMWs, Mercs) & more recently a Lexus GS 300h, NX 300h & now the ES. The Lexus are far & away the best of them. The GS was getting a bit dated & not very fuel efficient, I no longer need the load capacity of the NX.
  3. I had an NX 300h Luxury for a year up until last November, nice car but decided SUV is not for me. We were on holiday in September & travelled all around Spain in it, average MPG was 35 I bought an ES 300h with premium pack (69 plate so last before the 2010 price rise and so even with premium paint (mesa red) just under the £40k price new so no higher rate VED. Obviously less boot space & no folding seats but it’s adequate for me I also purchased the modified boot tray to fit a space saver spare wheel (separate post in this forum). There is less wind noise than the NX but obviously access is more tricky with the lower seating position. Mine is almost Takumi spec with heated & ventilated seats with memory, extended seat cushion (electric), rear sun blinds, BSM etc. On a run last week to Ipswich & back (320 miles) I averaged 48mpg. I also had the Apple Car Play upgrade done. Horses for courses, I would test drive both. I absolutely love the ES but that’s my personal preference to suit my lifestyle
  4. See my earlier post on this thread. The tray was just over £300 incl VAT, the spare wheel with tyre fitted by dealer plus the retaining bolt to secure the wheel in the wheel well (the thread is already there) was about £250 including VAT
  5. I ordered the shallow spare wheel tray from Lexus Nottingham 64779-33280 which was delivered in 3 days & is a perfect fit, so thanks for the info. Price is now £252.22 plus Vat i.e, just over £300 I enquired on a separate thread as to whether a Camry hybrid kit would fit but got no confirmation; Nottingham Lexus (also Toyota on the same site) weren't sure as I doubt if they have even had a Camry in stock & of course they have now been discontinued in the UK & there are very few about. There are also very few GS450h space savers around, but the (extremely helpful) Parts Manager at Lexus Nottingham came back to me the same day after doing some research for me with a suitable space saver for my ES 300h Premium Pack (18" wheels) plus the appropriate securing bolt.
  6. Hi all. GS space savers seem to be in short supply at the moment. I've recently changed my NX 300h for a 69 plate ES with Premium pack so I'm looking for a similar solution. Any idea if a Camry spare wheel (2019 model) would fit? I also noticed that the Camry tool tray looks very similar (same bodyshell I presume other than the extra bracing) & as a UK standard spec might be available (and probably cheaper). Photo attached of the Camry tool tray. Any help gratefully received
  7. Thank you peniole, it looks like it. The 2018 manual shows muting as a speaker symbol. I've just downloaded the 2020 manual which shows it as you described. Must have been a software update when ACP was installed. I'll give it a try tomorrow. Cheers
  8. Hi I wonder if anyone can help? I've just traded in my GS 300h for a 2018/68 NX 300h luxury with premium nav. As part of the deal the dealer did an upgrade to include Apple Car Play. When I move to Lexus navigation after entering a destination the left side of the screen looks like the pic below. According to the manual there should be a mute button on the screen (it isn't under the extras when I access the three dots ... either. When I use Google Maps with ACP there is a mute button on the screen. Any idea what the problem is; I've tried audio settings changes but no joy. It's bad enough having one female giving me instructions, let alone two. Thanks all
  9. Thanks to all who replied but gave up in the end and p/ex’d the GS for an NX 300h 2018/68 Luxury with 18k miles and one owner from new. Very pleased so far, although missing the memory seats (and fuel economy!). Life is full of compromises.
  10. Hi all I'm considering changing my GS300h Exec edition 2017 for an ES with Premium pack as I want the memory seats option (2020 MY on I think). The one thing putting me off is the lack of a spare wheel. The 2019 Toyota Camry has pretty much the same body shell AFAIK & does come with a space saver wheel and kit. Any reason why it wouldn't fit in an ES, and what (if any) mods need to be done? I've asked the Lexus dealership but they don't want to know. Thanks
