  1. oh no nothign wrong with owning luxury/low running costs at all. just saying if u use a car like lexus alot or use it for work then is gonna cost a bit in petrol so therefore it shouldnt be use for that purpose in my opinion. yes some people probably think of getting LPG as solution but i wouldnt.

Yes Precisely what i thought! if i needed to use a car frequently for work or just wanted to be economical then i get a er....more economical car like a civic or a small diesel car as my daily runabout.
Sorry, but gas in luxurous car? Personally i think it is just not right:)

what's wrong with having a luxurous car that cost's peanut's to run its just as fast and just as quiet and by no means less luxurous

(and the government get less money for each mile i cover, helps me sleep at night) mabey if thay weren't so mutch of a set of theving bast****s id just use petrol ,and look how many diry desiel luxurous (noisy, smelly, somkey, oil burners) cars there are (all be them german)

  2. in my opinion i dont think LPG is worhth it really. of course is gonna be expensive if you use the car on ocassional basis like a job in your company that requires lot of travelling & especially a LS430. i would suggest buying a smaller car with a smaller engine to save all that money or perhaps a diesel car. thats what i would do. as i said a much more economical car thats cheaper to run & use the ls430 for leisure time/weekends etc....

  3. an chinese actor called 'Alex Fong' you may not heard of him & know who he is but he is famous in Hong Kong / Asia if you ask anyone from there. he been in LOTS of films / TV series/appearance. anyway he owns a Toyota Altezza RS200, his other car includes a porsche 911 & subaru.

  4. isnt Holden Commodore(&other Holdens) same as vauxhall omega?

cars like landrover, rover, mini & jaguars etc got indicators/lights stalk on the left these are designed as right hand drives arent they as these once were british?even tho u can get these in left hand drive......

i seen old MG of the 60/70's & the very early mini's they have indicator/light switch on the right but somehow later on they switched to the other side....

Holden is designed as a RHD.

  5. i heard a while ago under car lighting is legal providing it is not visible! i.e. you cannot see it easily or at all!

last time i read through the regulations regarding lighting to vehicles it didnt mention specificaly the prohibition of under car lighting.

Altho i could see there being a problem if they were blue, green etc etc.

and as they are indirect lighting (i.e) not lighting up infront or behind the vehicle i cant see why there would be a problem with them.

Altho im not having them on my car as neons, but i realy like the idea of floor illuminating lights! very nice touch!

  6. yes not to mention some car permits that only allow you to use your car at weekends only. not to mention anything not factory standard is illegal but people still modify anyway.

You've got to be bloody rich to afford ANY car in singapore, let alone a lexus!

The import tax on them is stupid!

  7. Yes (some) American cars in america has red indicators but at the rear. & no is not legal to use them in UK. even though lot of aftermarket 'lexus style lights' for say civic has red indcator & can readily buy them on eBay or accesory retailers in uk but still illegal & fail MOT.

i fitted PIAA plasma FX sidelights on my old car & got fined for it even though it wasnt blue or maybe unnoticebly so orange defeintely illegal even though you see JDM MR2 with them.

as for Landrover with them, you fins that they have both white & orange sidelights so they be ok providing there is a set of white sidelights as well. but if its just orange sidelights itself then is illegal.

  8. i dont think Es300 is ugly at all. maybe the look is more to the asian/american side. or same reason why lot of luxury cars like Mark II & Mitsubishi Diamante isnt sold in europe. i think these cars look very far east, nothing wrong with it, reason why i like japanese cars is its japanese/far east looks!

just wonder why the Camry isnt sold in UK anymore as its meant to look more european, hope the new Legend comes to UK later on, suppose to be improvement over the old one with 4WD i think rather than FWD like the old one.

unless the ES300 is FWD??doubt it? Audi A4 is FWD (exception of Quattro)but there been in with BMW/ Mercedes rivals for yrs & still is.ccant remember if the A6 is FWD or RWD.

Why no Lexus ES in the UK? Is it because it is just too ugly?

  9. yeah i know feeling watch your speed!! in Essex there is always lot of police on part of a dual carriageway blocking off 1 lane on a thursday afternoon randamly stopping 'any cars' while other police were stopping other drivers & another using somethign plugged to a laptop monitoring cars passing by. i got stopped few yrs bk as my sidelights were supposedly 'blue' maybe it was but it was very unnoticeable! i still see lots of JDM MR2 with orange sidelights these days!! i got fined for it, even though my 1st offence, would of thought a warning for 1st offence maybe not now but few yrs ago?? then he gave me a lecture for 10 minutes & i wanted to go!! he even said 'its people like you stopping us police from attending something urgent' i didnt ask to get stopped & ask for a lecture for 10+ minutes. he could of just did what he needed to do & let me go. but tried to make me feel guilty/my fault if he couldnt attend something urgent but if that was the case i wouldnt!!

A Police Officer who calls himself Scarface !!!! I stand by what I say, I see a greater Police presence on the roads with their mobile speed traps than in town patrolling the streets. Can't remember the last time I saw a PC on the street. I am sick to death of watching my speed, afraid of some Copper jumping out with his radar gun to catch more easy meat. Got my first three points recently for doing 35 in a 30 limit. The road was empty !!!! Now I have to watch the speedo constantly instead of watching the road. I respect the individuals who choose to join the force and understand the pressures they are often under but the system stinks. Motorists are an easy target. It has gone too far.

  10. bad news, hope it comes back in 1 piece soon....

i could be wrong, i heard that you can get fined if you got out the car & the car is started up as this happened to someone a yr ago on a cold freezing winter & that police man happened to walk past..........

i done things like this before but never again even though where i live is 'quite peaceful part of the area'

  11. hang on, aint toyota parts in UK from japan anyway??i think so. so that means they have contacts in japan. & they can order most parts if its officially made by toyota. sounds like them not being helpful

I did speak to a contact in Toyota who assists with parts enquiries and he said my only chance was to find a 'friendly dealer' - ie, one that deals with Jap parts.

    .

  12. u find lot of these aftermarket pedals dont stay on that well. few years ago i bought some pedals by 'Type R' nothing to do with honda. theyre rubbish! the pedals moved about & the clutch pedal always came off as the fixing clamps were thin & bent very easily!

    Mate,

    I bought these:

They look exactly the same as the Lexus OEM ones, but have TRD written on them  :D  and were easy to fit (EVEN FOR ME).

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...ssPageName=WDVW

Only cost $26! But the guy wants $29 for postage!! However they do look good.

    Just need a footrest now!

I ordered them. They are crap!

They don't fit and are weak. Small screws, small clips. Will make driving unsafe. And I don't know for UK but in Germany its illegal to drive with pedal covers without any TUV-certificate.

    Be aware!

  13. u need to be in the motor trade. i seen in banzai magazine some 18yr old that owns a JDM supra all modified with bodywork, ICE, lambo style doors etc.... & even NOS, practically modifying the car as if it his!or maybe it is as it turns out he works for his dad in the motor trade, but shouldnt think u can build up your NCB as the car isnt your but the company's....

Scarface dude i need to vent :tsktsk:  :tsktsk:

I feel like doing what this dude i know does: GET A TRADERS POLICY!!!!

I mean he does change his cars regularly but he drives: EVO's, GTO's, FERRARI'S etc. He buys them then gets rid. All the time playing with the £6-10K mark. Making money etc along the way. He is only 25!! he aint loaded but does have some cash to play with.

When i asked him how is he affording insurance he told me such!!

    Makes you bloody wonder though.

I really would like the Altezza. Would be nice if they came fully loaded like the uk IS200 sport/SE

Confused.....I am just P***** off at the moment :tsktsk:

  14. you can have orange sidelights (oem fit on landrover discovery & volvo s40 etc)as long as there are another set of sidelights that are white. ok cars like volvo s40 have orange sidelights but they also have white sidelights as well. but if its just orange sidelights you can get stopped for it. i use to have PIAA sidelights on my old mazda ---plasma fx, cant remember exact name, that was only little(unnoticebly) bit blue but got stopped and fined for it. as far as i know sidelights have to be white.

in countries like NZ & US it is legal to use orange sidelights, thats why lots of grey import MR2 has them & lots of owners dont bother changing it as is not required to change them by law there.

  15. i know lot of you buy CD's & bits for your lexus or for your other cars on eBay but i just been looking thru eBay & list lots of 'new' trainers. would you buy them off eBay or better off going to a high street shop? just that some of these prices are tempting for a new pair of trainers. the sellers claim its geniune & new, if it isnt can anything be done about it?

  16. u checked the bulbs, the other fuses are located on the right hand side of the driver footwell.

dont need a alarm, immobiliser for the esva i shouldnt think. only if the insurance company requires you to buy it. as for the Err3, better off getting a new head unit other words cheaper to! when u say TV is it sat nav, heard it cant be converted for uk use, it needs a CD or something that is virtually impossible to get or need to get a uk sat nav that costs over £3k or something. not sure...
