  1. a black is200 full body kit by lexus i presume as with the rear spoiler. reg no. A2** LEX

this car is always outside a house 95ish % of the time in Eastwood Road in Rayleigh Essex so i think he/she lives there. sometimes this is200 is fitted with a roof rack.

  2. cars are gettinh more complicated nowadays......i try contacting the previous owner, my (& friends/family) experience of buying a car,i always only get one key that is quite annoying since it comes out of my pocket for some spare keys. why dont these people just hand ALL the keys over when changing cars. not like there gonna need it!

anyway not sure how lexus computer system works(in parts department), when i owned a mazda i needed a spare key, i wen t to mazda(only option since local key cutting shops couldnt do it due to immobilser built into the key & being a mazda) & give them the chassis no or registration & they can find out the matching key without handing my exisitng one over. but like i say it probably more complicate d than that now due to lexus(&other cars) got more electrical components.

  3. £600+ for side skirts is bit steep especially if it dont include VAT & sprray+fiting!

if u mean would the car be worth more(with styling kit) when it comes to selling it then shouldnt think so unless is standard factory fitment which i dont think it is on a lexus is200. is like 'max power'(sorry!) feature cars that got full body kit, lowered, sound install, flip paint etc.......when these owners come to selling it they put the price up sky high(higher than what its actually worth) because they spent say 10 grand on modifications not to mention time & effort. i always had impression from friends/family that however much you spend on the car in terms of mods it wont increase the for sale price(some people do increase it anyway), if anything it de value the car's price.

when i looked at modified( or slightly) cars i always had salesman saying well its lowered, got new alloys etc when i try reduce the price!

    my experience / thoughts anyway.

  4. I've never seen a V8 series II in Japan. It's not sold now even if it was in the past.

The GS400 was available in the US from 1998-2000 and the GS430 is available in US and Europe from 2001 (late 2000) onwards.

perhaps not then. i looked at official toyota japan site it dont list it there. maybe they got the 3.0 twin turbo instead that is similar performance.is like the Altezza, apart from the sportcross there is no 3.0 Altezza 4dr sedan in japan which is the Is300 elsewhere. maybe is fact they got the RS200 instead......

  5. The GS is we know it is called the Aristo in Japan.

There are two main variants the S300 and the V300.

The S300 is like the UK GS300 with the 2JZ-GE engine putting out around 220bhp.

The V300 is the twin turbo 2JZ-GTE engine putting out 280bhp (although probably nearer 300bhp).

Both the S300 and the V300 are available in standard form and the Vertex (some people incorrectly call it the Vortex). This is a higher spec model so you get a rear spoiler, HIDs, maybe bigger wheels etc. The V300 Vertex also gets active rear wheel steering.

The S300 is also available in Walnut Package which is like the Vertex model + wood trim interior.

Leather interior, sunroof and uprated stereos are options on all models.

can you get a 4.3 Aristo in japan? i seen a imported mark1 4.0 Aristo which is 4WD but not seen/heard of a mark2 Aristo with a 4.0/4.3 after all you can get the GS430 in uk.

  6. No.as said these wraps Do protect the paint..........thats why they do it to all the "taxis" in germany, so when there life as a taxi is finished.......voila wrap removed, and a popular silver mercedes lies underneath..........albeit high milage, but splendid prestine paintwork :)

ive had decals on my car.which after 3 years have been removed..........voila.........not a single trace of them

stickers however, which are glue based, do need a special solvent to remove

    stickers...........wraps..........decals, all different things :winky:

oh i see now. just that i seen LOTS of cars with fast & furious style graphics & after a while some people get bored of it so they remove it leaving evidence of stickers that was on it previously! not nice!

  7. ok i know its TRD make but why is the front / rear spoilers for the is200 so expensive? just looked on upauto & the 'genuine' aero spoilers from TRD is £395 for front & £465 for rear(boot spoiler). oh yeah it exclude vat & p&p! anything special about it like the material or anything else? looks is good but not exactly 'in yer face' if u know what i mean!

as i remember the f/r spoilers from lexus(geniune i beleive) dont even cost that much although the spoilers from lexus(well actually a toyota part) are different design.

  8. the reason why the accessor de valued the van is its been repaired previously.they must of known if it was repaired through insurance or its been bought like that at first so then it be on the history. is like when p/x a car & they found out is been involved in a accident gives them a good reason to de value it. as for salvage well there bunch of cowboys, i always hear about them ripping people off all time.

  9. lowered springs, there is always lots on eBay for is200 but they go very quickly. speaking of eBay as long as u dont buy those so called 'performance mod' for few pounds that claim to give u extra 20bhp, yea right! i think i saw one on eBay listed for lexus. clear rear fog lights come up time to time also. there was new set today starting bid £0.01,no reserve! may gone up by now!

  10. i been told fitment of alloy wheels are quite limited for is200 compared to other cars or if they did fit them they needed spacers!well i actually know someone with a is200, he spent long time looking for some alloy wheels & lot of them didnt fit & found one that did that needed spacers. unless Halfords fit them on i wouldnt recommend going there.they also given wrong advise or unsure when ever i(use to) go there! try elite direct in rainham, they a lways do deals there.

  11. bit late posting. saw a Yellow/gold type colour i think! GS430 in China Town, Central London on sunday, near Gerrard Street, was parked just outside a multistorey car park nxt to a mini chinese supermarket & newspapar shop(selling chinese newspaper & mags).

cant remember the reg but its either a personal plate or a northern ireland type plate with three letters followed by four numbers.

  12. I'd get a Lexus from the UK, wouldn't bother with the 'Toyota' Altezza, no dis-respect to the Altezza owners .... but I think it's silly when people buy Altezza's .... then put Lexus badges on it.

It's a Grey Import .... not the genuine Lexus :-)

    Blah !

I think its silly when new member try a talk about something that they OBVIOUSLY know NOTHING about!!

Been here many times, so i will say no more... :tsktsk:

And for your information "mate", you would be VERY VERY surprised now many people wanna buy ALTEZZA badges for there is200`s!!!

Each to there own, but i also know which i prefer money not being an issue.

    ha ha ha.....

toyota altezza/lexus is200 all the same. theres nowt silly about putting lexus badge on a altezza.

if u order parts from a lexus dealer say for an is200 u find it says 'genuine toyota parts' even the lexus grille.

  13. going independant is one thing but watch out for the cowboy garages. or better still (if your lucky) find a garage in your area thats specialises in japanese cars or toyota/lexus speiclaist. as for getting less when trading in, not so sure if it makes difference. as long as paper work & servicing records are provided.
