  1. excellent topic, i have been involved in the setup of, sorry( Nissan ) for road/ race drifting, and track days, the drift is 90% geometry 10% madness, all the settings i apply are based on my experiences of geometry, before i disclose any settings i wonderd what you at LOC would suggest for the Lexcus setup?
  2. Nice to read a vote of confidence from you guys, Parthiban No car is designed to wear tyres in such a dangerouse way, the camber on the Lexus is very exacting, and will not allow any exemption from it's tollerance, go there, and, beware, wheel alignment will not detect camber, only a full geometry will do this, my best advice in a fatal field of tyre wear is, get a full geometry test, have the front cambers set as far positive as possible, and expect the offer of fine tuning, as far as the dealers are concerned, it's your problem now, not there's.. read my site www.wheels-inmotion.co.uk i make no money from the site and i sell nothing but advise, all said this may help and since it's free then why not... as far as the dealers are concernd to be fair this is your problem now not there's.
  3. I am really angry, i told STS that i was going to offer the wheels to LOC and that the IS will be the reader, now seemingly they don't fit! tomorrow i will find out for sure, and let you all know... ← sorry LOC Tony is correct the 18" wheels have the wrong stud setting....
  4. I am really angry, i told STS that i was going to offer the wheels to LOC and that the IS will be the reader, now seemingly they don't fit! tomorrow i will find out for sure, and let you all know...
  5. your tyre wear is NOT normal, no manufacturer would make a car that wears tyres in such a leathal way, the geometry is wrong, this needs to be addressed now or you will need two more tyres real soon...
  6. The company i work for have decided they will no longer be selling wheels so they now have 27 sets that have to go by the end dec, they range from 14" to 18" the makes are BOSS and OZ, the mad thing is that the price is "make an offer" what's left at the end of dec will go in the skip? the areas are Hitchin, Herts/ Canary way, Norfolk / and Strood, Kent if your looking for wheels then phone 0870 850 4567 from there you will be re-directed, If need be then name drop Tony Bones ( wheels-inmotion ) or Simon Holt director of business developments, and name your price, 18" wheel don't offer more than £40- £50 each, if you buy tyres as well then offer less, try £30- £40 per wheel. i'm not saying the offer will be accepted, but there is a good chance it will. This is an hand on heart deal for LOC only.
  7. you need to be aware that a 40mm drop will spoil the geometry to the max.. and the consiquince without recovery can be fatal.. read camber basics at www.wheels-inmotion.co.uk this may help with what to expect if a geometry is not done? pm Scorpion in the forum his advise you can concider as ( the word ) the Lexus is a lady, and needs to be treated like one? if not she will bite your arse ← Huh.....im no expert (far from it) thats why i put people in touch with you Tony. :winky: ← well me think's that your word is valid, look at the views that follow you! You can express the importance needed with this example for a geometry. I had a Lexus today, not from LOC but he had a blow out, nsr, what amazed me was when i conversed with the owner and opened up my concern with the tyre condition he wasn't even aware there was a problem???? RAC fitted the spare tyre and off he went on his merry way, when the tyre was removed it fell appart ( for true ) when the customer returned to the centre i tried to explain this is not normal and my advice was recieved with total unconcern, he calmly said "is that my tyre" and showed no emotion? i was in disbelief, the tyre was in two peices and the owner showed, now concern.. good for business i suppose but if you are behined a blue IS200 index KF03*** move over, there's going to be fireworks. Just goes to show how awareness within this forum opens up the need to team together with all our advice, at all levels so that we can avoid prat's like him...

  9. for a full geometry seems real cheap? but if that is the price then go for it... the loss of the front tyres would be? £150/ £200 or so..
  10. please, please have the geometry tested, you know there has been a incident why wait for the cost of tyre replcement, beat it in advance, the Lexus setup can be recoverd, ← Exactly as you point out in your website. Pot hole at 30mph. But this was no ordinary pot hole and I rekon I was probably at 35-40mph. The car shook and my groin felt no better after. It was at night. I saw it too late. However I am impressed by the strength of the mk 2 Gs300 it took it well. I spoke to my local lexus mechanic (not lexus) and he says that if theres no difference in the ride then dont worry. But I am more concerned about my alloy and the double wish suspension on the right front side then the tracking. No doubt the tracking and geometry will have been affected. Hope it has no affect on the VSC or the TRC. No bulbs fused. Where and how do I get it checked and recover 'lexus setup' ? Thanks ! ← Where in the UK are you? the GS300 has a camber tolerance of 30', that's a nat's **** and one nut... geometry you must have or you will pay.
  11. It'll be worth it guys believe me. :) Give him a ring first though. ← which phone number interested in booking it in on the 23rd !! ← 01923 234666 but please allow me to profile your situation in advance of your visit,
  12. please, please have the geometry tested, you know there has been a incident why wait for the cost of tyre replcement, beat it in advance, the Lexus setup can be recoverd,
  13. "Faith" the quietest word ever written. WIM was built becouse i am sick of seeing people getting ripped off, i have an insider view of the fast fit industry so i can see how you become a target, WIM is a warning and education so that you can have a level of expectation in advance of any corrections. Any alignment/ geometry problems LOC have i am willing to help with, you don't need too come to me since most of the wear issues are down to the settings ( fine tuning ) fitting wider wheels or lowering suspension only needs applyed geometry calculus, the mathamatics can be assessed without even seeing the car, Scorpion's IS200 will be a excellent example too us all since we now have a true fingerprint of the geometry, std suspension, and new tyres, in 2000 miles time the geometry will be re-measured and i will compensate for the reaction of the Lexus fluid suspension, and tune scorpion's driving style, we can all benefit by this since the settings and consequence will be posted here, with " Faith" the centre reservation will be denied the imprint of the Lexus emblem due to the fast fit rip off's Tony
  14. Thanks for that vote of confidence Scorpion. LOC was one of the first forums that embraced my web site, when i read the posts it became evident that WIM could really help, i offered as you know £25= test + £16.50 for one adjustment? even if all seven are adjusted you only pay for one, the fine tuning is free, this may seem too good to be true, where's the catch? theres not one as Scopion can validate. the company i work for allow me 100% control with all aspects toward geometry and i can apply this as i see fit, Lexus is for me a wonderful car to measure since it is multiple adjust, so most times any trauma can be recovered, result for you, result for me, the time taken for the geometry as far as cost is concerned is irrelivent £25/ £16.50 whatever, the real geometry settings come from the fine tuning, this is were the geometry angles are customised to fit the driving style, i recognise this and that is why the fine tuning is free, and then can be concidered final. i make no money from you and my offer is real hand on heart. Tony
  15. No it's not... go get it sorted.
  16. Heard that a few times...mainly from women True to say " one size does fit all woman" lenght is a measure of hope only....
  17. You are more than welcome, as you saw my work is in the trauma area with cars, and for sure your car is hurt, but far from dead, rather then half **** something you have gone the whole way, and from my opinion i fully respect that, becouse your geometry will be harder to recover but (WILL) be the most impressive once done, the car in my centre will be known as the dogs ?, as far as the solutions you offerd to me i say no and no? can you try www.spcperformance.com. As much as i want to help i also need to reply to domestic geometry problems that i get every day, so my free time although devoted to LEXUS, i need to deviate my attention an play catch up..... Must say guys mathematics my area, spelling not, some people say "oh but i'm dyslexic" fact is for me it's all due to poor education ( sad or what ) whatever advise is from the heart so bear with the rest......
  18. Please do.. but if not lets share the problem, maybe a visit is not necessary, mathematics within geometry sometimes only needs the symptoms????
  19. It's for real guys, Hi scorpion.. If you dont get an offer of a 1000 mile re-check then all adjustments made to the car are conciderd final? this must then assume that your LEXSUS is 100% standard, IT'S not so the need to customized, the geometry must be made to measure, one size does not fit all????
  20. OK, thanks for the trust... the way things need to work out is this, i work for a company that is going to move along with my method towards geometry, i needed someone to take a leap of faith so that any information i post on this site is valid and so are the applyed corrections? But all companies need to make money (sad or what) So what i propose is this for LEXUS owners club only, Geometry test £25+ vat Adjustments £16.50+vat each plus 50% discount, so in effect you only pay for half of the corrections, but all are guaranteed, payed for or not? fine tuning/ 1000 mile re-check and adjustments Free.... Today with Mr Singh we worked for two hours or so with the cars geometry and at the end of it all it cost him........Nothing but a hand shake? i'm not out to make a living from LEXUS and since LEXUS were the first to embrace my web site i will honour my written word for you all. Tony
  21. Scorpion, you was right Low? waaaaay......Low?
  22. It's up to you? email or phone me at work 01923 234666 seems along way to come, i'm in watford? but whatever you do don't get a wheel alignment, get a full geometry... if you want to come to me i will sort it......for sure
  23. I did say i'll get it on the ramp some how........? it would have been easier to lower the world, than try to lift that car up??? lol, next time we should be in the new centre if not i will use the mot ramp, the loss of two or three £40 test's is not a problem, i said i will set the car up, and set it up i will... the problem with this car is that it has been lowerd to the max, and to be true i think it looks real good But the upper parallograme of the car is so low the camber adjusters possition is out of reach toward real compensation, in fact the OSR camber was near 3d 58' and the worst camber on the car, so this became the first point of attack, but the cam only recoverd 58' so it became pointless adjusting the rest? nsr toe was 50' pos front toe was neg/ and pos so the rack and steering wheel was offline this was all re-set, more work to be done but this car once set will set the standard (fact) Tony
  24. Don't you worry i'll get it on the ramp...... some how? annoying thing is Jan/Feb we are moving to a purpose built alignment centre, but as i say...... some how?
  25. The drop of the ride height will never be a problem, this will deny body roll and keep the centre of gravity low, the drop in height be it one inch or five will all be subject to recovering the geometry to the factory base settings, this base will be the cars fingerprint and from there you can then apply fine tuning, example wheel size, tyre width, body weight (human) driving style, and handling expectation will all need to be customized, The maths As an average IS200 one inch drop front = 45' negative. Camber 1/100 = 75' negative toe/ total = 7mm negative or 1 degree 10' negative SAI will move to the max = + 30' per inch drop or so? caster = more toward positive Rear = 30' negative. Camber 1/100 = 50' negative toe/ total= 4mm negative or 40' negative One last thing toe/out/on turns will increase by about 30' per inch, this will without doubt wear the inside of the outer tyre when turning left/ right All the maths still don't allow for wheel size etc???? so it can be seen there is no absolute rule within geometry.
