  1. May I ask how they fixed the fuel tank. I had a leaky tank which meant oxygen getting into the mix [loads of smoke accelerating] Oddly enough no fault lights showed on dash. Tank repair putty didn’t work so I had a second hand tank fitted. Hope this helps
  2. Sensor easily fitted as it’s under the bonnet, cost of Lexus Italian clear out £300 and doomed to failure. Imho
  3. I had the same problem. Lexus salesman stated that to clear the vsc light their technician would drive the car home with additive in tank and rev it hard[likely to cause head gasket failure]. Eventually took the car to Stansted and dpt taken off and cleaned. Fault was faulty sensor… £35 approx on ebay
  4. Lexus quoted me £705 for a tank with 3 weeks delivery. Spoke to a guy who stated rust remedy followed by jb steel putty and finally a coat of Hammerite. Seems to be holding fine. [my leak started when I used injector cleaner, economy increased from 40 mpg to 44 mpg but I had a stain on my drive. Various videos on YouTube about changing ‘repairing a tank on the is250.] Hope this helps.
  5. Tim909 - isn’t it easier just to blank it off. Must admit the thought of all that carbon entering the system is quite scary. I blanked mine and no warning lights. Just my opinion.
  6. Lexutor - may I ask how much a new tank costs please. I’ve got an is220d and it’s leaking on the weld between the two halves of the tank [rust] . Apparently it’s a regular thing . One of the main reasons tanks fail is people use injector cleaner which destroys the tanks liner. One mechanic stated jb weld putty is a brilliant solution for leaky tanks if done correctly. With your car did they only suggest replacing the heat shield and new tank? Kind Regards John
