  1. I will be having a eye test for my prescription lenses in a few weeks when my local Specsavers re opens closed for refurbishment. They do a lens that has an anti glare coating I will have this applied and will see if it works John
  2. I finally managed to check out my sun roof drains.i managed to push trimmer wire down the front ones went down quite a long way.the rear ones I could not find as they are hidden..now tried to close the sun roof.that was ok went later to try again sun roof won't open 😞 now decided to give up and seal it up completely I keep getting a dashboard warning moon roof open it seems completely closed,so some sealent will be purchased soon.. Any suggestions thanks John
  3. I find my 9 year old grandson is flexible and small enough to do this sort of thing
  4. I assume you checked your reg number on the tfl website. The ulez doesn't come in to force until september.the lez is in force now but only inside the north and south circular.what part of London did you drive in.i would object to the fine as you can have your say.i had a similar experience a year ago driving over the bridge on the M25 I had paid the toll the day before but got a letter saying that I didn't pay and will be fined.i sent copies of the online receipt.2 weeks later in get the response they will waive the fine but don't do it again. I'm afraid you have to deal with idiots on computers.good luck anyway John
  5. Thanks to everyone for the response. I can't really want to put it into a garage and have the expense of having all the interior taken out. I have watched numerous videos on YouTube and tried the trick of pushing strimmer line down the front drain hole it whent down quite a long way but stopped where I imagine it exits in the engine bay.i couldn't find the rear drain but by then I had enough of fiddling around in the drizzle.i did find the passenger side rubber seal was not fixed in place pushed into place as best I could. If it still leaks I will seal it up as I don't use sun roofs anyway.i will continue to post any success Thanks John
  6. Well getting really stressed now.the rear passenger floor is soaked I think it is blocked sun roof drains. Will have to remove the carpet to dry out an seal the sun roof completely
  7. It seems that the boot space is leaking from the roof rails any suggestions on how to seal around it. can you only get to the bolts from inside or can you remove the plastic cover on the outside to access the bolts to seal around it
  8. Thanks everyone there is a lot of good information from knowledgeable people on this forum will let you know when I have sorted this out
  9. Thanks for your help.when I get a dry day I will start with checking the sun roof drains.then also where it's coming in around the rear door.the rear lights have some condensation in them so once I find how to remove them I will fit new gaskets if they have or use some sealent. I've seen the previous posts on how to clear sun roof drains so hopefully this will work.
  10. When I bought my rx400h I checked very carefully for wet carpets every where.all were bone dry 👍 Now they are all wet front driver side and the boot space where it's running down the side onto the boot floor 💦💦
  11. Can anyone recommend a good quality replacement the ones fitted are very dim. My previous car had a really bright set fitted, they were on the car when I bought it they lasted 7 years never needed replacing so I don't know what make they were. Thanks in advance
  12. I got it from a dealer in East london.elite never responded to my phone calls or emails I phoned one day and both phone lines were not answered so gave up on them . I whent to four friends in Ilford got a good deal in my price bracket 11 months MOT full Lexus service history 2years warranty and a free MOT when due and a new bosh battery. I had a test drive for over a hour arranged payment on the spot they had it washed and valeted and drove it with me to my home in north London the same day. The power door problem has been fixed I tried the button in the glove box but it was no good in the end I resorted to the land rover Discovery trick disconnected the negative battery lead for about 15 minutes re connected problem solved so far I'm very pleased just need to get used to it and where all the switches and how everything works.
  13. After looking at a lot of rx400h how some people expect to sell them I don't know. One had different tyres on all wheels, broken wiper blades scruffy interior the list could be endless. However found a good one eventually more information later. But have a problem with the power door,it worked fine for days until the recent ice and frost it now won't open I've tried the reset button in the glove box but it still will not work. Any suggestions would be gratefully appreciated Thanks John
  14. Thanks for the replies.my budget of £6000 is my max.i checked out the mot check on that car and it was ok but obviously the car had a bit of use since the ad was posted. Elite motors did not reply to my phone call they said the one I was interested in may have been sold and we will call you back in an hour that was yesterday and I'm still waiting. I'm not very savie with tech so I will try and post in the right place, I'm of the age that doesn't understand it or use it l only got a mobile phone last November. The search continues luckily I'm not in a hurry so can take as long as I like.thanks again for the response
  15. Whent to check out a rx400h. It was at a dealer in Hemel hempstead.i was told it was at their London mill branch so of I go .I turned out to be a residential road,a guy turned up with the car .so far I'm very unimpressed ,had a look around it anyway.front tyres almost bald in side was really dirty mud and leaves everywhere.started the engine there was a loud clunk as the electric motor started.by now I'm thinking of walking away, asked to give it a test drive the answer was no unless I paid a deposit. So I left as it was a complete waste of time. So still looking 😳
  16. Thanks Sundance elite add is where I've seen some interesting vehicles will try and get to go and check them out
  17. Thanks for the update. I've seen a dealer in the Croydon area that seems to have a good selection in my price bracket max £7000 .they have various well maintained service history and a reasonable warranty. There is also a private seller near me with a 06 model that looks ok but I don't think the belts have been replaced. I will be checking the everything you have suggested Thanks for the information I will post on the forum as the search continues
