Heating stopped working earlier this year, after awhile it started working again nice and warm on the cold days.on a recent trip I turned it down as it was a nice warm day, that was a bad idea now if I turn it up to heat the car it just stays cold I'm really tired of this problem. However on a reasonably good note.after filling the roof rail seams with the captains creeping crack cure the floor has dried out.hope it lasts 😳

Thanks for the response.i have an eye test regularly so cataracts is not a problem. I know the operation is quick and painless ,my wife has had hers done a couple of years ago.. only problem is that she's able to see things like dust or the weeds I missed in the garden -
Like many other drivers of a certain age I find headlights a bit bright. I use yellow clip on filter lens that helps a lot. My question is years ago the m.o.t. used a machine to check the level and spread of headlights if it was incorrect you could adjust them,is this still part of the test I don't think you can adjust lights anymore.

Many thanks for the suggestions I don't have the time or inclination to start taking the interior apart.i don't have a garage so working on my driveway in this weather, so that's not going to happen. I've looked at the video's on YouTube and they all seem to be a lot of work. I've had seven cars over the years all different makes and none have ever given me this sort of problem Thanks again 😕🥴 -
I have a wonderful paddling pools in the rear passenger foot wells.i keep bailing it out but within minutes it's back again. My local ex lexus mechanic says the only way to sort it out is to remove all interior panels and head lining and try to trace the leaks.having read other posts on this I can't Face the Idea of the expense and time involved,so I will just keep drying it out until the floor rot's away then scrap it. This is definitely the only lexus I will ever own

I'm afraid everywhere is full of bad drivers.i live in London but all major cities have drivers that feel entitled to drive like p...ks .if you come to London here are a few things that may help you There is a minimum speed limit of 45 mph especially in supermarkets carpark don't drake until you are 1 foot from the junction never indicate most people don't know where the stalk is use of horn is compulsory if you have to slow down for any reason as is the wave of the middle finger black cab drivers own the road mini cab drivers are no better they all seem to drive white Prius any rubbish in the car can be dumped out anywhere there are a lot more things I could say but that's enough to start with, just remember every pedestrian wants you to knock them over and every driver wants to crash into them. Sorry rant over time to pour a large whisky and calm down 🤬 -

Dropped the car to my mechanic for a quick inspection.he recons it's likely the thermostat, having looked on YouTube it seems to be a real problem dismantling half the engine, but he also thinks it might be an air block Will just wait and see what happens in the new year -

Thanks for the reply.i must have pressed the mirror button by mistake now I know I will probably use that function again. As for self healing I wish it would heal the body seams that let in water that fills the rear foot well and make the head lights brighter It's really appreciate that member have such knowledge -
Owned my rx400h for 12months now,in this time strange things have happened. tailgate not working on the key or the dash button then working again. . heater not working properly then working properly again. now the exterior mirrors dip down when I select reverse. I wonder what next.

Went out yesterday heating working fine but today it would not warm up at all 😕. Slight heat from side vents but footwell cold and no heat to rear passenger vents.the more I use this car the more I realise it's the worst car I've ever had.the foot wells still fill with water 💦💦💦

I gave up using any sat navs years ago. They all seem to send you in the wrong way.where I live it sends me along roads that I don't have to go along as I know how to get to most places Perhaps I'm old school I can read a map so always use one.the main problem with technology is tomorrow it will be out of date and it will eventually break down.

You learn something new every day. The engine overheating signal flashed up and the temperature gauge got into the hot area. I always check the coolant regularly.i thought the coolant tank on the right side in the engine bay was the one for the radiator not so appently it's for the hybrid system . the header tank for the radiator is under a trim on top of the radiator if you didn't know you would never guess as it's well hidden. fortunately my local mechanic new where it was and filled it up.so no damage done I can now check this regularly. 😀👍

Ridiculous satnav
jdlexus replied to jdlexus's topic in RX 300 / RX 350 / RX 400h / RX 200t / RX 450h Club
I had a 2006 land rover discovery the sat nav was excellent and really easy to use. Maybe I'm just getting old .I don't use the satnav very often only twice in the last 6 months.happy to use the old-fashioned way a map 👍😁 -
I had my 07 RX 400h for 8 months.the satnav is impossible to use.ive read. the hand book several times but can't make any sense of it. I've had satnav in my past 4 cars which were simple to use input post code then street name press go and of you go mine gets half way through the post code then won't select street name .some streets don't exist even though they are on a map and were built in 1927 So it's absolutely ridiculous and rubbish Rant over John

ULEZ and Rx400h 2005
jdlexus replied to Ezzie's topic in RX 300 / RX 350 / RX 400h / RX 200t / RX 450h Club
Its probably a glitch in the computer at tfl . I had a similar problem during lockdown.whent into the zone in my land rover which was not compliant.i paid the charge the day before but was still sent a penalty charge.i sent a copy of the receipt for payment and a copy of my bank statement.weeks later I received a letter saying it had been cancelled.i also sent a copy of the tfl checker saying it was compliant. Just shows you how you can't trust anything or anyone at all John -
Welcome John There are no silly questions I've had loads of really useful advice from other members. Good luck with your Lexus ownership

I have not made a decision yet . I'm having a service later this month so I will be taking to the mechanic for his suggestion. John -
Back in the early 70s I had a wv beetle 🪲 we all waved at each other. These days I think people are to miserable to be waving at you unless they are cutting you up
