  1. You can only have the Hybrid batteries tested each year for the 15yr warranty at Toyota or Lexus dealer.
  2. Mine just had it's major service £505 interim is £285 but one of the many things they do on the 10yr service is change the anti freeze, strip and clean the brakes etc, they had the car for over 3 hours and to be fair I probably would have gone to a local garage this time as it would have been much cheaper and I could have done a lot myself, but getting another years warranty speaks for it's self, plus if I was to sell it, it's a selling point as I would sooner buy a car with full main dealer history, they don't cut corners.
  3. It all depends on price and condition really, I bought a 2014 ct200h last year with 45k miles but I wasn't worried as it came with full Lexus history, just had it serviced for it's last year of relax warranty and it now has 10 stamps in the book.
  4. I think you'll find they mean press the eject button and swop the disc, ooops
  5. I've just booked my Lexus in for it's 10th service, so another year relax free warranty, if I decided to sell it, it will go with a bigger warranty than Evans H gives, but it's probably the last one it will get at the MD.
  6. Think it must be a sales pitch as when I bought mine they wanted to sell me the ceramic coat and interior protection but I declined, as how do I know the previous owners hadn't had it done, 2 previous by the way.
  7. When I bought my CT which is coming up to a year ago now, a 2014, the salesman assured me it could not be stolen via the canbus and my insurance is normally around £300 FC, I'm not looking forward to it's renewal as I'm hearing a lot about insurances doubling.
  8. The only time I experienced tram lining was on a rear wheel drive car, some tyres don't like the ruts on the road, have you recently changed any tyres.
  9. Excellent, thanks for that I've been levering the dam fob the wrong way, mines type A yes it slides forward, great stuff.
  10. Would the relax warranty cover the key fob battery, I only ask as the dash says my fob battery is low, I would normally do this kind of thing myself but I watched a video on battery replacement for the Lexus but can I hell get the top off the fob using the fob key or a screw driver, thought I was going to break it. It's a fair way to my nearest Lexus dealer and I considered dropping in to a Toyota dealer to see it they could help out.
  11. Open door and lay on your back and look under the door, you should see the holes quite easily and poke some wire up them to clean out or run your fingers under it the door edge.
  12. I use an App on my phone called vehicle smart, but it shows me nothing about that car, only it's last MOT, it might be because in was in NI. In the past when I've been waiting for the salesman I've took a photo of the name and address of the last owner on the log book.
  13. Hi SB, well done they are a good car, though personally I wouldn't go near a black car, they show all the scratches and dents or one with a sun roof, don't want to worry you but I can't find any info of this car either with my, on phone App, has it had a plate change, better safe than sorry.
  14. I can see it was first registered in Barrow in Furness, a bit late now but I always avoid cars from the coast it's a bit salty, I'd have asked them to show you the engine bay, looking for rusty pipe clips and bolts, in the current climate there are a lot of cars being used as submarines.
  15. You never mentioned it's service history, it's always worth having full Lexus history then you get the 10yr warranty on the hybrid batteries which are checked each year or it can be done at a Toyota dealer for a reasonable price. That way if a dealer has done all the servicing you know it's not been messed around with. I bought mine from Lexus and it came with a years warranty plus it's always worth a look under the bonnet to see if any nuts and bolts are rusty, the fasteners, pipe clamps etc, in this currant climate you have to make sure the car hasn't been used as a submarine or driving through a Ford regular, a seller wouldn't go to the trouble of changing any pipe clamps and a few nuts and fasteners here and there, as a further thought and I'm not being bias I would never buy a car from the coast or Scotland unless you live there(LOL) take the first two letters from the reg and see where it was registered, it will give you an idea how rusty it is underneath and if all that doesn't float your boat pardon the pun a little app on your smart phone is great called, Vehicle Smart it's free put any reg in and it will give you a lot of information, if a car is MOT'd all previous MOT's showing mileage, how much road tax etc.
