  1. You can only have the Hybrid batteries tested each year for the 15yr warranty at Toyota or Lexus dealer.
  2. Mine just had it's major service £505 interim is £285 but one of the many things they do on the 10yr service is change the anti freeze, strip and clean the brakes etc, they had the car for over 3 hours and to be fair I probably would have gone to a local garage this time as it would have been much cheaper and I could have done a lot myself, but getting another years warranty speaks for it's self, plus if I was to sell it, it's a selling point as I would sooner buy a car with full main dealer history, they don't cut corners.
  3. It all depends on price and condition really, I bought a 2014 ct200h last year with 45k miles but I wasn't worried as it came with full Lexus history, just had it serviced for it's last year of relax warranty and it now has 10 stamps in the book.
  4. I think you'll find they mean press the eject button and swop the disc, ooops
  5. I've just booked my Lexus in for it's 10th service, so another year relax free warranty, if I decided to sell it, it will go with a bigger warranty than Evans H gives, but it's probably the last one it will get at the MD.
  6. Think it must be a sales pitch as when I bought mine they wanted to sell me the ceramic coat and interior protection but I declined, as how do I know the previous owners hadn't had it done, 2 previous by the way.
  7. When I bought my CT which is coming up to a year ago now, a 2014, the salesman assured me it could not be stolen via the canbus and my insurance is normally around £300 FC, I'm not looking forward to it's renewal as I'm hearing a lot about insurances doubling.
  8. The only time I experienced tram lining was on a rear wheel drive car, some tyres don't like the ruts on the road, have you recently changed any tyres.
  9. Excellent, thanks for that I've been levering the dam fob the wrong way, mines type A yes it slides forward, great stuff.
  10. Would the relax warranty cover the key fob battery, I only ask as the dash says my fob battery is low, I would normally do this kind of thing myself but I watched a video on battery replacement for the Lexus but can I hell get the top off the fob using the fob key or a screw driver, thought I was going to break it. It's a fair way to my nearest Lexus dealer and I considered dropping in to a Toyota dealer to see it they could help out.
  11. Open door and lay on your back and look under the door, you should see the holes quite easily and poke some wire up them to clean out or run your fingers under it the door edge.
  12. I use an App on my phone called vehicle smart, but it shows me nothing about that car, only it's last MOT, it might be because in was in NI. In the past when I've been waiting for the salesman I've took a photo of the name and address of the last owner on the log book.
  13. Hi SB, well done they are a good car, though personally I wouldn't go near a black car, they show all the scratches and dents or one with a sun roof, don't want to worry you but I can't find any info of this car either with my, on phone App, has it had a plate change, better safe than sorry.
  14. I can see it was first registered in Barrow in Furness, a bit late now but I always avoid cars from the coast it's a bit salty, I'd have asked them to show you the engine bay, looking for rusty pipe clips and bolts, in the current climate there are a lot of cars being used as submarines.
  15. You never mentioned it's service history, it's always worth having full Lexus history then you get the 10yr warranty on the hybrid batteries which are checked each year or it can be done at a Toyota dealer for a reasonable price. That way if a dealer has done all the servicing you know it's not been messed around with. I bought mine from Lexus and it came with a years warranty plus it's always worth a look under the bonnet to see if any nuts and bolts are rusty, the fasteners, pipe clamps etc, in this currant climate you have to make sure the car hasn't been used as a submarine or driving through a Ford regular, a seller wouldn't go to the trouble of changing any pipe clamps and a few nuts and fasteners here and there, as a further thought and I'm not being bias I would never buy a car from the coast or Scotland unless you live there(LOL) take the first two letters from the reg and see where it was registered, it will give you an idea how rusty it is underneath and if all that doesn't float your boat pardon the pun a little app on your smart phone is great called, Vehicle Smart it's free put any reg in and it will give you a lot of information, if a car is MOT'd all previous MOT's showing mileage, how much road tax etc.
  16. Just something for you ponder over before you rush in, one Lexus I owned was in a bump as they would say cosmetic, headlight, bumper etc. The insurance company recommended repair centre was Stoneacre, the repair cost £4500 but the total cost was just over £10k with the car hire like for like, the repair was so bad the car had to go to Toyota, when they looked at it they had to get it inspected and take photo's of the car under the cosmetics, cost a further £5500 to put right what the first garage failed to do plus the car hire again so the full cost was over £20,000. If you must go down the repairable route have it inspected and don't pay top dollar for it cause when you sell it that will be the first thing they kick you in the goolies about, it's not what the outside looks like it's what's behind, tread carefully.
  17. Mines not top end but it has everything except the sun roof which I didn't want any way.
  18. Looking at that picture and being a member of the CT200 club, are you taking the Michael.
  19. I'm with Moleman on this one, I purchased the map update from www.satnavishop.co.uk, I think it was around £60, downloaded to a memory stick and installed it in the car. It's a big file and takes around 90mins to install to the car, Lexus wanted £250.
  20. You didn't say if your car has a sun roof, I've had a car before and in the mornings the inside on the wind screen would be dripping and in some cases it would be frozen. It is evaporated water what condenses on the cold glass like in a house, if you have that then you definitely have water ingress somewhere, have you had your spare wheel out yet and checked, check if any water in the battery area, right hand corner.
  21. Put your car in for the service and take a demo car out for the day, no charge there.
  22. If your back floor carpet is soaking it's a fair bet the water is coming in from under the rear door cards, Take the door cards off the side it's wet at and check the plastic seal and make sure the door drains are clear. My father once had a car and couldn't understand why rust was half way up his door, the drains were blocked, once unblocked you should have seen the door emptying.
  23. All though the battery was completely depleted the AA man said after starting the car and running a few checks said the battery was fine and the recovery charge was charging great. I asked how it could charge when it keeps stopping, told me while the car is in ready mode and keeps starting it will take most of the boost power from the Hybrid batteries but not run them down completely, just to a safe point. I think I better take it out tomorrow for a blast to charge the Hybrid Batteries up to full again, as they were full before I left the car running for an hour and now down to 2 bars.
  24. Ok, I left the car for a fortnight with out starting and we've had a few really frosty lately days so went to it yesterday and the car wouldn't open, took the key out of the fob and opened the door, foot on the brake and nothing. Not sure if it's the original battery, but the AA is on the way, he might tell me. I could start this myself but hey why its under warranty still, but I have a question what won't help, I have noticed every time I walk past the car, the interior light comes on,(obviously the key is in my pocket) I only noticed this when walking past it in the dark, now I always carry my keys in my pocket but is this normal and is it something that can be changed. I know someone is going to come back and say leave the car keys in the house or don't walk past the car which but be difficult where it's parked and inconvenient.
