  1. I'm not sure how old you are but try one first if your pensionable like us, the wife wants me to change the CT as she struggles to get in and out of it as it's a 2014, we've only had it a year and I'm happy but she's not, unfortunately a 2014 passenger seat does not lift up and she says she falls into it, where as after 2014 the the passenger seat is adjustable, worth a mention.
  2. Sorry but I had to read your post twice when you said Thankfully the wife passed last year. LOL. I'd agree with what's been posted but if I'd had a choice before I bought mine I'd have looked for one with a reversing camera. We tend to use the Wife's Yaris for the weekly shopping run as I'm paranoid about supermarket car parks and save the CT for a more eventful run and on the up side the 2015 Yaris is only £35 road tax and the Lexus is nothing as it's a 2014 so the only really cost is the insurance for both cars, she's just had her renewal through for £275 an increase of £25 which we're not bothered about, gotta wait till next month to find out how much mine will be.
  3. Like Norman my cars 10yrs old now but looks far from it, and mine had it's 10yr service done before it's anniversary to get another yrs warranty, it was chucking down on the way home after the service, so left the car for a couple of weeks before hoovering and wash and wax. That's when I noticed the rear set of mats were missing and being it was late on the Friday then, the valet team had gone home for the weekend and could not check, but no mats were found, to be fair when I noticed and rang Lexus they were picking a CT up so offered the mats out the back of that as a replacement which I accepted, but I never mention about the wash it was given, take a close look at the front of the car, I have cleaned the left side and left the right untouched to show the difference of the smearing. I don't know what the cleaning stuff or coating was used but looked like they hadn't wiped it off, I tried to remove it with polish, then T-cut none of which touched it so had to use G3 Faracela, I think that's how you spell it and it still took me 20 mins just for the left side.
  4. You can only have the Hybrid batteries tested each year for the 15yr warranty at Toyota or Lexus dealer.
  5. Mine just had it's major service £505 interim is £285 but one of the many things they do on the 10yr service is change the anti freeze, strip and clean the brakes etc, they had the car for over 3 hours and to be fair I probably would have gone to a local garage this time as it would have been much cheaper and I could have done a lot myself, but getting another years warranty speaks for it's self, plus if I was to sell it, it's a selling point as I would sooner buy a car with full main dealer history, they don't cut corners.
  6. It all depends on price and condition really, I bought a 2014 ct200h last year with 45k miles but I wasn't worried as it came with full Lexus history, just had it serviced for it's last year of relax warranty and it now has 10 stamps in the book.
  7. I think you'll find they mean press the eject button and swop the disc, ooops
  8. I've just booked my Lexus in for it's 10th service, so another year relax free warranty, if I decided to sell it, it will go with a bigger warranty than Evans H gives, but it's probably the last one it will get at the MD.
  9. Think it must be a sales pitch as when I bought mine they wanted to sell me the ceramic coat and interior protection but I declined, as how do I know the previous owners hadn't had it done, 2 previous by the way.
  10. When I bought my CT which is coming up to a year ago now, a 2014, the salesman assured me it could not be stolen via the canbus and my insurance is normally around £300 FC, I'm not looking forward to it's renewal as I'm hearing a lot about insurances doubling.
  11. The only time I experienced tram lining was on a rear wheel drive car, some tyres don't like the ruts on the road, have you recently changed any tyres.
  12. Excellent, thanks for that I've been levering the dam fob the wrong way, mines type A yes it slides forward, great stuff.
  13. Would the relax warranty cover the key fob battery, I only ask as the dash says my fob battery is low, I would normally do this kind of thing myself but I watched a video on battery replacement for the Lexus but can I hell get the top off the fob using the fob key or a screw driver, thought I was going to break it. It's a fair way to my nearest Lexus dealer and I considered dropping in to a Toyota dealer to see it they could help out.
  14. Open door and lay on your back and look under the door, you should see the holes quite easily and poke some wire up them to clean out or run your fingers under it the door edge.
