  1. Hi Folks, My NX shocked me the second time with the Brake Power Low warning, all the Dash lights came on, it was an array of warnings, there were a couple more about collision detection failure etc, captured the four pics (attached): The first time this occurred, I took it to a Lexus dealer for diagnosis. They could not pick anything, cleared the codes and advised me to contact them again if the problem recurred. When it happened first time, my car ran fine after a few minutes of stop/start. Today, the same behaviour, I stopped the car for a couple of minutes, full off/on and it was back on the road. I might have done approximately 600 odd miles since it last happened over a month ago. During these occurrences, the car brakes lost power (as the dash warning says) and it required much more force on the pedals to slow/stop the car - it is a scary situation, especially as it happened twice during peak traffic times. Has this occurred to you or can someone shed some light on the already full-lit Dashboard please🙂 before I book another appointment? Lexus dealer is miles away but have a Toyota dealer much closer - not sure if they will check this one. Please share your thoughts. Thank you.
  2. @flookyk: Update: My friend has purchased the RX. We asked the dealer about the protection plate, and they fitted it free of charge. Thank you so much for your tip; it was really helpful.🙏 🙂
  3. @wharfhouse: thank you so much - It took multiple chases, but in the end, I am glad it was done FoC. Ok, in this case, I will double-check the water pump issue before booking the service. Otherwise, I will be in a situation where the Lexus warranty is active and Marshall performs the work, and I am uncertain about how that will impact the Lexus warranty.
  4. Good news - the front discs and brakes were replaced free of cost. As for the water pump, the recent inspection report says it is not 'actively leaking' - which means it will leak soon 😄 I am booking a Lexus service so it will activate the Lexus warranty, does anyone know if they will address any existing issues under the first Lexus service which activates the warranty? Thank you all 🙂
  5. How much does it cost roughly if you don't mind, please? Thank you.
  6. I agree, if Lexus isn’t listening - collective action is necessary. Lexus claims to be a company that takes care of its customers and receives high scores on customer surveys… it’s ridiculous to let customers suffer due to their incompetence. There are numerous complaints and instances of theft, yet no resolution has been reached. Lexus thinks it is okay for their vehicles to be stolen this easily - this is no customer service! It is time for Lexus to take this matter very seriously and stop sweeping it under the rug. One of my friends is almost through purchasing an RX, should I warn him and probably cancel the sale? I do not wish to see him in trouble.
  7. Just curious to run my NX quotes for next year. To confirm I am on the correct website, are you all referring to NFU Mutual Car Insurace? Thank you :)
  8. Hi @wharfhouse, Thank you for that. My car has 60k miles on the clock. I have asked them about the warranty and now Marshall wants to do another inspection to check if these can be covered under warranty.
  9. Thank you @ColinBarber for replying. The Marshall dealer did the service and provided me with their approve warranty for a year - since this was not by Lexus, I missed out on the relax warranty. I went through the Marshall documentation, and it looks like the waterpump will be covered. My next service will be at Lexus which will activate the Relax warranty which should help me in the following years. Brakes - sure, I will double-check the wear level. Lexus says it is between 3 - 4mm and needs urgent attention. The pre-delivery inspection report from Marshall says the wear is at 60%, I am assuming this should be around 4.5 mm, maybe? And for the worn discs, I can't really tell, got two visually shiny discs, but Lexus say they are worn, but I am not sure. It sounds good, if the breaks could go for at least a year, I will get a few quotes. I have a local Toyota, will check their prices as well. Lexus quote came to about £450 I think, but I see prices with 50% less - not sure if this must be done at Lexus or elsewhere is fine. Thank you.
  10. Thanks for replying @Bluemarlin. The pre-delivery inspection report indicates that the brakes are fine and says 60% wear. I also had another issue regarding the tires not being replaced before delivery, which I complained about and they resolved this issue. Now, another problem has arisen - it is evident that they did not conduct thorough checks. The inspection report does not mention anything about the water pump though; it appears to be a standard checklist. I have contacted the dealer, waiting for a reply - hope they resolve this.
  11. 40k, that's very good low miles for an NX, they are very good cars. I am only on 3 months, so can't comment much, but so far I am enjoying it. However, based on my experience, please purchase from a Lexus dealer, check the service history, and check the overall tire condition and brakes. I am driving it in Normal mode and not eco, noticed more MPG in Normal mode than Eco. All the best.
  12. Thank you @Spock66. It is under Marshall Approved, not Lexus. Ok, thank you, the water pump that's good to know, at least one less thing on the list. Cheers.
