  1. Hi Folks, My NX shocked me the second time with the Brake Power Low warning, all the Dash lights came on, it was an array of warnings, there were a couple more about collision detection failure etc, captured the four pics (attached): The first time this occurred, I took it to a Lexus dealer for diagnosis. They could not pick anything, cleared the codes and advised me to contact them again if the problem recurred. When it happened first time, my car ran fine after a few minutes of stop/start. Today, the same behaviour, I stopped the car for a couple of minutes, full off/on and it was back on the road. I might have done approximately 600 odd miles since it last happened over a month ago. During these occurrences, the car brakes lost power (as the dash warning says) and it required much more force on the pedals to slow/stop the car - it is a scary situation, especially as it happened twice during peak traffic times. Has this occurred to you or can someone shed some light on the already full-lit Dashboard please🙂 before I book another appointment? Lexus dealer is miles away but have a Toyota dealer much closer - not sure if they will check this one. Please share your thoughts. Thank you.
  2. @flookyk: Update: My friend has purchased the RX. We asked the dealer about the protection plate, and they fitted it free of charge. Thank you so much for your tip; it was really helpful.🙏 🙂
  3. @wharfhouse: thank you so much - It took multiple chases, but in the end, I am glad it was done FoC. Ok, in this case, I will double-check the water pump issue before booking the service. Otherwise, I will be in a situation where the Lexus warranty is active and Marshall performs the work, and I am uncertain about how that will impact the Lexus warranty.
  4. Good news - the front discs and brakes were replaced free of cost. As for the water pump, the recent inspection report says it is not 'actively leaking' - which means it will leak soon 😄 I am booking a Lexus service so it will activate the Lexus warranty, does anyone know if they will address any existing issues under the first Lexus service which activates the warranty? Thank you all 🙂
  5. How much does it cost roughly if you don't mind, please? Thank you.
  6. I agree, if Lexus isn’t listening - collective action is necessary. Lexus claims to be a company that takes care of its customers and receives high scores on customer surveys… it’s ridiculous to let customers suffer due to their incompetence. There are numerous complaints and instances of theft, yet no resolution has been reached. Lexus thinks it is okay for their vehicles to be stolen this easily - this is no customer service! It is time for Lexus to take this matter very seriously and stop sweeping it under the rug. One of my friends is almost through purchasing an RX, should I warn him and probably cancel the sale? I do not wish to see him in trouble.
  7. Just curious to run my NX quotes for next year. To confirm I am on the correct website, are you all referring to NFU Mutual Car Insurace? Thank you :)
  8. Hi @wharfhouse, Thank you for that. My car has 60k miles on the clock. I have asked them about the warranty and now Marshall wants to do another inspection to check if these can be covered under warranty.
  9. Thank you @ColinBarber for replying. The Marshall dealer did the service and provided me with their approve warranty for a year - since this was not by Lexus, I missed out on the relax warranty. I went through the Marshall documentation, and it looks like the waterpump will be covered. My next service will be at Lexus which will activate the Relax warranty which should help me in the following years. Brakes - sure, I will double-check the wear level. Lexus says it is between 3 - 4mm and needs urgent attention. The pre-delivery inspection report from Marshall says the wear is at 60%, I am assuming this should be around 4.5 mm, maybe? And for the worn discs, I can't really tell, got two visually shiny discs, but Lexus say they are worn, but I am not sure. It sounds good, if the breaks could go for at least a year, I will get a few quotes. I have a local Toyota, will check their prices as well. Lexus quote came to about £450 I think, but I see prices with 50% less - not sure if this must be done at Lexus or elsewhere is fine. Thank you.
  10. Thanks for replying @Bluemarlin. The pre-delivery inspection report indicates that the brakes are fine and says 60% wear. I also had another issue regarding the tires not being replaced before delivery, which I complained about and they resolved this issue. Now, another problem has arisen - it is evident that they did not conduct thorough checks. The inspection report does not mention anything about the water pump though; it appears to be a standard checklist. I have contacted the dealer, waiting for a reply - hope they resolve this.
  11. 40k, that's very good low miles for an NX, they are very good cars. I am only on 3 months, so can't comment much, but so far I am enjoying it. However, based on my experience, please purchase from a Lexus dealer, check the service history, and check the overall tire condition and brakes. I am driving it in Normal mode and not eco, noticed more MPG in Normal mode than Eco. All the best.
  12. Thank you @Spock66. It is under Marshall Approved, not Lexus. Ok, thank you, the water pump that's good to know, at least one less thing on the list. Cheers.
  13. NX is a great car, I am enjoying it, but please do ask about the water pump and when it was replaced, I missed checking this and it is not a cheap fix. Mileage is about 42 which is good for the size. All the best
  14. Hi fam, My NX 300h underwent a health check today, I purchased it nearly 3 months ago. The results revealed a leaking water pump, front brake pads and discs worn down to 3mm. There is also a high bacterial reading, requiring anti-bacterial treatment. I had plans to have the car serviced at Lexus when it is due for its MOT in a couple of months. I was hoping that this service would activate the Lexus service-activated warranty. Unfortunately, I did not anticipate issues with the water pump and brakes occurring before that. The car is still covered under the Marshall-approved warranty. However, I am unsure if the water pump, discs, and pads can be replaced under this warranty, considering they were not identified during the pre-sales inspection check. Has anyone had any luck getting these replaced under warranty? To add to the dilemma, Marshall Group no longer owns any Lexus dealerships; so, I am uncertain about the status of their approved warranty or how the arrangement works. I may have to get this replaced in one of their garages but not Lexus unless they can pay Lexus. Would like to hear your thoughts, please. Thanks, Kind regards Bill
  15. Hi All, I was looking to install Dashcam for Lexus NX 300h 2015. Could you please share some thoughts about the Dashcams you use, please? I think I saw a Dashcam offer on the Lexus dealership but failed to ask for details at the time and the centre is now closed (Maidstone). Thank you, Kind regards Bill
  16. Oh, that's not good. How would we find these are not changed... we expect them to do their job correctly. 'Oversight' is a fancy term to use to coverup the mistake. 😕
  17. Ah! Okay, thanks for sharing. I hope Tunbridge Wells performs as I am debating between Canterbury and Tunbridge, Canterbury is 5 miles farther, but a better drive than the twists and turns roads to Tunbridge 🙂
  18. Thanks for this. I have been using Shell for a long time, but considering their focus on profits, I am interested in switching to another fuel provider. I have Esso, Asda, Tesco, and Sainsbury’s closer to me. I am wondering which one would be the best alternative to Shell? Should I switch to Sainsbury’s? Although Costco is a bit far for me, whenever possible, I fill up at Costco. I have noticed that the MPG is higher compared to Shell. I have not yet tried E5s, but perhaps next time I should try the Costco E5. I appreciate how Costco offers quality fuel at a much more affordable price. The savings on fuel alone make my membership worth it 🙂 .
  19. Thanks for sharing that. I was wondering where they moved .. also Ashford, that is interesting.
  20. Marshall group seems poor for sure from my experience.
  21. If we service at Toyota, will we still get the Lexus Relax warranty? Sad to see the Maidstone Lexus closed, the next ones are a bit far for me, either Tunbridge or Canterbury.
  22. Hi Rod, Welcome to the community. It’s great to hear that you’re considering the Lexus NX300h. I got my 2015 Luxury NX 300h a month ago and it is a brilliant car. Switched from a BMW. Lumbar support, I agree with you, though the seats are very comfortable, at times I feel some discomfort, I am not sure what is causing it or if I am just getting used to it - overall I am happy so far. The ride is amazing and quiet, play your music and hit the road, enjoy the beats - and on EV mode, superb experience. 2018's I am sure it will be even better 🙂 As others have shared, please purchase from a main Lexus dealer. ⚙️Service history: Even if the car carries an approved badge, ask for the service records to ensure that the vehicle has been properly maintained. You can ask if you could view the service history or a printout to help you. This can give you an idea of any past repairs or maintenance that have been done. 🔋Battery health: Inquire about the battery health of the hybrid system. Typically, hybrid batteries have a long lifespan, Lexus Select-approved cars should be fine, but it’s still worth checking their condition and any warranty coverage. 🪝Upsells: The dealer will offer upsells such as paint protection, gap insurance, alloy wheel protection, tyre insurance and extended warranty. If you opt for any of these, there is room for negotiation. From my experience, they rarely negotiate on the car price, but they do work out discounts on these extra products. 🛠️Service: The service is not cheap, full service will cost about £598 and the interim about £305 I think. However, the Lexus service gives you peace of mind and an extra year of warranty on every service, which is brilliant. So I would suggest sticking to Lexus service centres. And.... definitely get the service plan, they spread the cost over interest-free, which should work out to about £35ish a month for two years. The adaptive cruise control is something I need to get used to compared to my BMW, the one on Lexus I felt is a bit too aggressive with breaking. Apart from that, I cannot comment much on other factors such as reliability and maintenance since I am a very new Lexus owner; so far I love my car - the build, the drive, the music, and the fuel efficiency (41 MPG on eco). On Eco, sometimes I feel that it needs more power, but just turn the dial and it delivers. The Normal and Sport mode makes it even more fun to drive, but I am okay with Eco mode as it suits my commute. It is not a 0 - 60 car under x seconds car but can deliver power on demand. I can see it is very thoughtfully designed, everything is in place where it should be. Love the EV mode, and wish it can do more miles on EV mode 🙂 I was after a 2018 but not sure how or why but this 2015 came along and I just bought it - as you can see, I am happy with my Lexus so far. I hope this helps. Best of luck with your purchase! Warm regards, Bill
