  1. I don't know for sure (have a call booked with my dealer tomorrow) but I think its more likely to be the immobiliser Lexus insurance fit as part of their offering or a version if it. 🤞
  2. Sounds like there's a fix coming in addition to the plates👍
  3. The article contains an official response from Lexus so lets see
  4. Apparently our plight has reached BBC Watchdog and will be shown tonight, 7pm.
  5. I've reinsured with Hastings this time following L&V's withdrawal. 100% increase on last year's premium but 50 - 60% of that isn't Lexus related specifically
  6. Is it always the nearside light/wing they go for? Just wondering where to site my CS gas canister ring pull 😉
  7. Just ordered and installed a map update from this company. So far so good, uploaded without a problem, Map is working. Dealer update £200 Sat Nav shop £40!!!!!!!
  8. Very concerning all of this, seems all we can do is fit a trick immobiliser and hope for the best
  9. Is there any theme to where these attempted thefts take place? On a side street, supermarket carpark, at home on the drive etc? Or totally random?
  10. I cant get this to work on my 2017 Gen 4 car. Is this older version of the sat nav not supported fully?
  11. Mines the same, sometimes I get a 120mph limit in a 30!
  12. Do you have a pic of that fitted to the car, with and without towbar attached? Presume its removable? Well done on the wiring integration, the Lexus dealer fit version is very involved, carpets and trim out etc....
  13. Yes, ive noticed that too. My renewal isnt due for 40 days, they say the best quotes are to be had approx 23 days prior? Just wondering if i should grab a deal now if theres one available or leave it 2 - 3 wks and risk other underwriters pulling out of the market for this car?
  14. Same here, my last towcar was an absolute monster, BMW X5M 2.4 tonnes, 750bhp, 900NM, self leveling rear suspension. Made micemeat of our 2 tonne twin axle. Had serious resevations about the RX after that but have been pleasantly surprised by its towing performance. Perfectly adequate for a 1500kg single axle which we now have.
  15. Just had my 'renewal' through from L&V. As others have reported, they have declined to insure again! Souring the ownership experience this nonsense is.
  16. Definitely isnt. Ran 0-20 and 5-30 in mine. No difference the cars computer can detect. Engine runs smoother and quieter on the heavier weight oil though. Much nicer
  17. Thanks Colin, That makes sense, I towed our 1500kg van back from the Cotswolds today, approx 100 miles, nice and steady in Sport Plus Mode. Couldnt feel any difference from Custom really. The old girl returned 23.1mpg overall which is excellent for such a heavy large engined petrol car 👍
  18. Yes, the 500h is plenty quick emnough for the real world but at the price point its competing with premium German stuff which are much faster and glittery for similar economy/road tax etc. Dont see much of a market for it same as you
  19. Well, i flattened the plug in battery on the 60 mile drive home from the dealer and was unable to charge it up at home cos i didnt have the right adapter.... it was still showing 60 plus mpg when i took it back 5 days later! Very impressive
  20. Tyre update, Main Dealer service/MOT. Even wear all round, slightly more on front as expected. Less than 3mm wear max after 6000 miles, half of which towing a caravan. Happy with that.
  21. Its the same chassis as my 2017 version so its 2000kg. That said, ive towed 2000kg TA caravans with much more powerful BMW X5's and wouldn't really fancy that load on the RX. She tows 1500kg single axle quite nicely though.
