  1. Going to try something a bit different as far as tracking.. range is on the climb like most are reporting. Currently at 48/44.5 (started with 40/38 on delivery in dec) now reseting history every month to allow for more realistic performance against kWh and mpg. February in screen shot, every week has seen at least a 150m+ trip (non stop) twice a week, so challenging to absolutely influence mpg over this distance on the back of EV compensating. but… tracking at 65+mpg over 1.3k with miles per kWh climbing to 2.9. Should start to see 70mpg+ return and climbing over 3m per kWh Real world though? I’m only putting in £35 of fuel each time for a 310ish mile trip. EV cost is literally at 80p over the 85miles I’m getting based on a charge both ways. I charge at home on the outbound (own cost) charge at office for the return (no cost, yes lucky I know..) I’m On an off peak tariff with British Gas and Hive at 9.5p per kWh alongside a new beta incentive to allow the charge to be longer of the full off peak window to support low grid usage.. This reduces the tariff to 5p per kWh hence £0.80p for 48miles. Incredible..!! So, at the moment it’s already running at 8.6p per Mile combined.. far cheaper than a hybrid and would absolutely wipe the floor with a similar sized diesel SUV.
  2. Hi Ken, I’m in a F-Sport Prem Plus, previously in a Premium. Differences: Ride, lower profiles and larger rims has a marked affect on handling and urban driving. Feels very surefooted on more open roads of course.. economy is compromised though as a result of Rim/profiles. Big difference in seats too. Very firm but still comfortable. You feel very much planted.. I’m continuing to do long journeys and they’re still comfy but not to the same extent as the prem though. As you’d anticipate no discernible difference in actual performance, very similar. If anything the prem felt quicker.. but that’d be due to the slightly lower weight in the main I’m only 2months in but have already covered 2.8k. Winter too of course.. looks great though tbh… so I’ll cope with the reduced economy Pete
  3. First month down against ownership.. and range steadily climbing, in spite of cold temps. Started with 40.8, now at 46.0 four weeks later. AC climbing slowly, real world performance more around mid 30’s. Bodes well though if I’m seeing steady increases at this time of year

Have just taken delivery of a replacement NX, previous recorded 13500miles and averaged out at 3.6m per.. and 96mpg.. that being said I took delivery in April, so perfect time to start as far as seasons and steady increasing temps. Current NX now just under 1000 Showing 2.7m per and 68mpg (couple of long trips in already) be interesting to see how it fairs up towards similar mileage/performance. I’d suggest it’ll struggle to achieve similar based upon taking delivery in Dec as its start point
  5. Have just taken delivery of my replacement NX450h+ fSport Prem Plus Starting on 40.8/37.6 first full charge last night, entered the stats into my hive app guesstimating 2.6 m/kWh. Wasn’t far off indicating a charge of 38miles. Showed a charge capacity of 15.06kWH. That the greatest capacity I’ve seen so far, may dip off as it settles but bodes well. now back to the job of educating the traction, albeit in the winter of course.. hope to see 60+ again as with my other NX. The difference being this time I’m running on bigger rims with a lower profile.. it’ll make a difference for sure..
  6. Tricky one here.. and up for debate.. I think that the premise of the higher figure quoted, as opposed to real world is based upon the battery showing its capacity factoring in Status/Temp/need to receive to run Systems. The real world performance, like anything is based upon the driving conditions and use of onboard systems such as all accessories, heated seats/steering wheel/climate control etc. All of this exacerbated by the road conditions and outside temperture. In any normal ICE vehicle economy falls away in winter due to all of the above, lots of idling and engine working hard to maintain all core components, all whilst keeping you warm.. which can only come from the engine essentially. Its the same in a hybrid, whilst it'll do its best to drop into EV (as part of its HEV platform) the reality is that the engine will kick in more to do all of the above, hence appearing to drop away in performance. It's no longer a case of 50% plus of journey in EV. It's therefore sensible that this should be the same in the PHEV. The variable factor is the outside temp. The range will always be an indication of its capacity, the practical performance is then based upon use and climate. Think a full tank of fuel in spring/early summer "v" winter.. you get more for your money... It's perfectly feasible that you could work towards the higher number on any other given day.. but the car essentially isn't smart enough yet to understand predictive temps and what that'll do. I now tend to enter my real world miles per kWh into the vehicle section of my Wall charging app (Hive in my case) this then tells me based upon kWh received via the charge as to the possible range. So in the summer I was running at 4.1 mile per kWH against a capacity of 14.3kWh, therefore I tended to get 58 ish (and did) now its more like 2.1-2.3 miles to kWh, so.. based upon the capacity also dropping off a little to 14.1 is now more like early 30's.. again, feels realistic.. Lexus Link+ predicts 55/48. it's a big variance but it's based upon not knowing what the temps are and additional factors. Long read... sorry... open to theories though..

Still returning decent numbers.. always above 60 with good returns around 50ish (motorways etc) but as Ken says if you don’t want to be cold.. then it’s a different story.. heat, seats and wheel means 40 at best.. so from 4.3kWh to more like 3.1kWh.. big reduction. Did see 14.2kWh charge last night though, so good capacity still.
  8. I’m definitely on the descent albeit small incremental reductions. same for real world performance, 3.3 - 3.7 miles kWh and last 20% drops away quite quickly. However… still seeing range of 63/62 with 14.3kWh capacity, giving me a real 52ish miles or so.

I have to say I even find that the HV range is very reliable.. for example I’d set off on for the 266 round trip with 236 HV and 64 EV. charged again at destination with having 154 HV range (63 EV) by the time I was home had a HV range of 48.. so yeah.. it’s a generally a reliable figure too.. depending on how you drive of course

I’m on the descent now… (albeit from a very decent place, 64.4) most noticeable trend is the useable kWh capacity is decreasing, I’m assuming due to the need to preserve more to maintain optimum hybrid systems/state of charge etc.. I’d peaked at being able to have a usable 14.79kWh (July) to 14.31kWh (last night) With the decrease in miles to kWH too I’m seeing what looks like decent starting range to losing around 20% of that as a real world performance. (Used to lose no more than 10%) Depending on drive of course. A coldish (single figures temp) early start to London yesterday saw 3.6kWh rather than my previous 4.1-4.4kWh. Pretty much the same on return. however Car still returned over 50% of the journey in in EV (combined 136 miles of the 266) essentially only used fuel for one way (if you look at it like that) great return still..

So we’re on the turn.. peaked at 65.2 last week but now dropping away (albeit slowly) today was 64.9/64.2 funnily enough though the AC is creeping upwards? real world mile per kWh is also dropping away, normal journey home returned 3.8 (mainly country roads and urban) rather than above the usual 4+ Have a decent round trip ahead this Friday, 270ish there and back, mainly motorway but no doubt stacked as per.. full charge outbound and return so will see how it gets on. (Ran lean on fuel this morning to say the least.. that’s the confidence I guess though that a PHEV offers)
  13. Well the spike in temperature we’re all enjoying has delivered a new high.. 64.9/63.6. Achieved 62miles in full EV (real world) this morning before HEV kicked in, landing 133 miles later (isleworth) having achieved 107mpg with 82miles Having been in EV. It was busy.. (very) but moving .. on the way back managed 54 real world (with AC) and achieved 95mpg combined, almost exactly the same ratio of the journey in EV. hoping to crack 65 before this mini heatwave disappears..
  14. Hi Colin, Just like you my zero EV range reads as 30% for normal HEV operation. Although I would say that I’ve noted that the traction charges up to its capacity of 14.79kWh (as highest I’ve seen from hive) based upon that and my summer 4.2 (ish) miles to kWh then that does match the predicted range of around 64. It’s the better than expected capacity that making all the difference I guess.. no software updates as yet either as it’s not been serviced either cheers, Pete
  15. Agreed.. have also noticed that when I’m down towards its lower 3rd the capacity drops significantly as does the miles to kWh. Was tracking easily at 5.1 over a distance of 40miles to see this drop back to 4.1 before HEV dropped in..

I think I’ve peaked now.. stuck at 64.4/63.8 for last 3 days.. real range also starting to drop back too, most likely battery now having to utilise some of capacity to maintain core temperature. Still managed 57 miles though.. which included 53 on motorway (albeit the extended car park that is the wonderful M25) Basically Epsom to just below Oxford…
  17. This may be their migration to LexusLink+ the new version of the App? I moved over as part of a general update and it’s not capturing all trips and also now only reports the rolling month rather than all data (trips etc, performance) a bit annoying tbh. I guess it’ll improve though hopefully
  18. Getting 50 from a 53 in rural is excellent.. and equally harder to achieve than tye types of journeys I do. for me it’s a bit more straight forward. I’m easy on the throttle for a start and take advantage of hills and breaking gently and aim to regen through coasting and dipping off whenever I can. I’ve had quite a few Toyota/Lexus hybrids so driving this to achieve decent economy isn’t really any different, pretty much the same approach and style when driving in EV. Best ever on EV only in this NX was from one of my regular Epsom-Midlands return journey (do this weekly, M25 Junc 9 - Junc 16) From set off I got all the way past Oxford services on the M40 before the EV dropped out, That was literally 62 miles. For me, on motorways, adaptive cruise is the best option and set to 64 when on EV only, then to 68ish when on HV. Yes I’m taking it easy but it’s just so much less hassle these days. Do this journey every week in peak traffic so tend to keep out of the way.. (nutter avoidance tactics and dozens of cameras) These EV journeys are full To empty though and more to the point over a very steady pace. I’m in at 8.2k now, 3.8miles/kWh. 97mpg to date and indicating that over 61% of the miles have been in EV. Reckon that’s about right. EV’s can be taught, and a PHEV is no exception. But…. Reality? There’s an always an Audi/BMW swaying from side to side behind me and invariably a Tesla filling my rear view mirror… Don’t really care any more though tbh, 150+ miles equals 3 to 3.5hrs regardless of when I set off or how I drive, or how fast.. so steady and chilled for me 😉

  21. I’m beginning to think that my NX does appear to potentially a bit of a one off.. One of the reasons why I found this forum was because I was trying to find out what the real world useable % of the traction battery was.. looks like I’m over 80% useable capacity now and with the better temps I’m seeing 4.3kWh urban easily, hence the 60+ range being achieved. I actually expect I’ll hit 65 before the temp starts to dip Great to be here.. Pete
  22. Hi, new to thread and forum, have covered just over 8k since April this year, lots of weekly motorway use 400mile per week (midlands to London and back every week) 150miles each way, non stop. Full charge out, full charge back.. Average miles to kWh: 3.8 average mpg: 95.7 able to use around 14.8kWh of the capacity battery now up to 63.7/63.1.. (started at 38 when picked up late March) I can regularly get late 50’s on the range (have had a couple just over 60, but I was definitely playing the range game) EV only mode (not auto) until expended then onto HEV, most of these journeys see average EV distance as well over 55%. Use AC sparingly but never feel uncomfortable either.. Admittedly I’m usually in heavy traffic (M42/M40/M25) but use adaptive cruise all the time and take full advantage of this. PHEV’s love a steady pace and even better stop start.. Off peak tariff at home, (9p per kWh) so around 2p per mile in EV have had Uxe300 previously so understand how to get the best out of the range but this car is amazing.. Awesome car..!!
