  1. I agree. In fact a while back I had a bloke go out of his way to compliment me on my JZS147 at the local car wash. I said his car (a Maserati) wasn't too bad either!
  2. Very nice, hope you are enjoying it
  3. Brilliant! Look forward to checking it out
  4. Always liked that car
  5. Hope you are keeping well. I kept making the same mistake until I eventually hung on to my 5th one! They are still out there, but way less than there used to be available.
  6. Sounds like a plan. MK is a good location.
  7. Hi Tommy! I've not been on the Aristo forum for ages as my computer doesn't seem to like it, thinks its a fake website or something.
  8. Hi Paul Still got my JZS147. Drove it the other day when they had not gritted the roads for a bit. Its parked up again now as they started the gritting again! Glad to hear you are getting yours back on the road. It was the first Mk1 that I saw. Cheers -Nick
  9. Had one for a bit, nice a car. No major problems. Our one didn't suffer from corrosion. There was a JDM 4x4 version but it was not officially imported to the UK, although have seen a few grey imports. It would be a Toyota Altezza Gita.
  10. Chips, yes i am lucky! One has to go though 'cos I only use the one. Its going to be a good deal to someone with a good home for it. Your car is looking nice. Lowered now with new rims? And Goodoldgrandad, you are right it is a rare breed!
  11. Norkep, Reckon I need more than 10mm cos I frequently have passengers in the back plus luggage. Do you know anyone good who could remake the decat? Cheers.
  12. Your car looks GOOD. My '94 Aristo sits pretty low, and scrapes on speedbumps etc realy easily. Was it difficult to modify the decat to allow for more clearance?
  13. Well Nice. Makes me want to respray mine! You should get good money for those rims on ebay if you decide to get new ones.
  14. Right, I'll leave it then! Cheers for all the info. -Nick.
  15. Chips, yeah saw it on the trader. Looked like a good one at a fair price. Good call getting the cam belt done though. Hope you didn't get charged loads 'cos of that bolt. I guess they'll be ready for my one! Norkep. It puts my mind at rest a bit that your one has been like it for ages and still going strong. Lookin forward to checking out your car on the 18's. I want to subtly lower mine but still keep a luxury ride. Have you lot seen the illegal streetracer MK1 Aristo on Autotrader with 800 bhp! It looks insane. 15 grand though.
  16. norkep is yours a '92? Mabye they put out a batch that are prone to doing this. I don't remeber from when I saw your car, is it lowered?
  17. Ha ha talk about false economy! The previous owner of my car in the UK had it since '99. I wonder if using normal unleaded for all that time a opposed to the higher octane stuff had anything to do with the problem? (Unless he was putting diesel in it!) Hey Chips was your Aristo the one that was for sale in Wales with the gold alloys? Hows the front lights doing? Mine ain't too bright. Bristol isn't that far from Harrow, and I've got some mates down there I need to visit. Next time you see your mechanic maybe you could ask him if he fancies fixing it, and if so how much for the job? Plus changing the timing belt and water pump while were at it (mite as well take the opportunity while its all apart!) Cheers -Nick.
  18. Thanx for your input chaps. Yeah seems like it is valve stem seals, but I thought it strange because the engine is not a high miler. Also wouldn't it be smokey in traffic if it was valve stem seals? Does anyone know if it will damage the engine if it isn't fixed immediately? Anyone know a good mechanic with low overheads who would be up for doing this job!?
  19. Hi everyone. My Aristo TT has been great fun so far. One concern though. I'm getting a puff of smoke (oily/white) on cold start up only. The rest of the time its ok. Any ideas? Overfuelling? Valve stem seals? Strange if it is 'cos its not a high miler.Maybe its just burning off oil left in the turbos? Or maybe I neeed to use a certain kind of oil? Heard these engines like semi synthetic. Oh yeah there is another thing. Think my heater valve (engine bay near the windscreen wipers) is leaking water. Has anyone else had this problem? Photos soon with my new (to me) TOMS split rim alloys. (Was no point in sending photos so far 'cos the car is factory standard!) Was thinking of subtly lowering the car. Has anyone done this? Cheers, Nick.

Hi Denys! So how many Mk1 Aristo tt's do we know of in the UK? Only a handful I think?

Ha ha you lot have got good memories. All the cars looked mint. Yeah that was so funny, I was going on about tt Aristos and there was one 15 ft away from me! The show was good, especially the 'suicide girls'!! Yeah got the offset info, just need to figure out how wide i can go without having to mess about with spacers etc.

Thanx for the welcome. Think I met some of you lot maybe at your Donnington meet in the summer? I just happened to be walking past and saw loads of Lexus's so I came over and said hello. Norkep do you remember a youngish guy with spikey hair being fascinated by your car and asking you loads of questions about it?

Great site. Thought Id say hello. Just got a '92 Aristo twin turbo in silver. V.fast for such a big and luxury car. Was running a V8 Soarer. Lovely car, but needed 4 doors so the Aristo seemed logical. Are the mk1's known as Vertex or is it only the mkII's? I want to get some new rims. Does anyone know how wide I can go on a Mk1 without modding the car? Cheers!
