  1. :) Not saying this is the answer but all I have done this past 2 yrs is once a year lightly sand the wheels to smoothish, stick supermarket bags in the holes to protect the discs and mask off the tyres (in situ), and spray with halfords silver wheel paint. I got carried away last year and sprayed on some laquer too, but not really worth it. When i finished the wheels looked really good unless you went down close and critical. For about a tenner, thats what i would do. Maybe I am just tight ?
  2. :D AhA! So that's what they do in Dublin, must say I did see quite a few IS in Dublin, but none in the countryside, I now know that if I see a 2Litre IS in my mirrors on the Sligo road, then the strange side lanes beyond the broken lines are for me to pull my 3Litre IS onto to allow you to cruise past so that I dont run into you. I finally know what they are....women's lanes. (Apologies to those who have never driven in the Republic, and don't know what I'm prattling on about.)
  3. Sorry, did'nt realise this was a boy's only post
  4. :D It's got to be nice, I'm swopping my platignum 200 for a blue sportcross this weekend !!
  5. :D Near the pride park footy ground, next to the toyota dealer. Went without booking in this week and they diagnosed and sorted my coil problems whilst I drank nice coffee, A good first visit. 6. :D Flippin eck you lot, I posted to do this months ago, not a lot of support then...where woz ya (misquote from Delia)
  7. :D Best of luck Janey! Keep smilin' B
  8. I find that my lexy is pretty slow unless I get the revs right, she really starts to move around 3500/4000 rpm, and keeping her in that area through the gears prevents her from being embarrased by most young pretenders. Took me a while to sort it, but now us two ladies make a lovely pair !
  9. :D Is it time to split the IS forum between old and new IS ?
  10. :D Just had my second yearly service carried out at Inchcape Toyota at Derby, they have a team that's Lexus trained and both years they have been great to me!! they also give 10% on Lexus Gold Card. Really good to deal with, and efficient. They tell me the new Lexus dealership in Derby will be up and running in November...Hmm I might stay with Toyota ? the only downer is the Yaris loan car! £138 all in for a 70000 intermediate service.
  11. Go for it, you won't be disappointed. Feels a lot faster and quieter than the 200. Sounds like Lexus won't be making a replacement so could be a future classic (anybody know how many they sold?). And its faster than the new IS250 :winky: ← THANKS for the opinions, better look for a good un then. :D
  12. Hi Just hi-jacking my wife's poll name to ask you a question. Her IS has been/is superb, I need a small estate and I am having a look at an IS300 Sportcross, is this a good or a bad idea?? any comments?? :D
  13. :) Ive just finished refinishing (if you see what I mean) the standard wheels with a twenty quid refurb kit from Halfords. Basically it was just a bit of hard work sanding, masking and then spraying. They look fine now, and as they are now under control, it wont take long to refinish them (yearly?). Of course if you are just looking for an excuse to get some nice shiny new ones then.......
  14. I have just spent a day on our nasty corroded and kerbed alloys, using a refurb kit from halfords (reduced £20). All it really came down to was cleaning, sanding, masking and spraying (they give you 4 tins of paint in the kit - matt silver). There was not enough paint, but the result was a big improvement. I shall just sand them off and spray them periodically, blow the refurbs, as it's so easy to kerb them anyway. Sleeves rolled up...get stuck in!
  15. thanks! I will have a chat with the dealer when I have some cash. In the meantime I have seen a refurb kit for the wheels at Halfords car accessory shop, I might try that but I do not expect miracles. I live near a little town in Derbyshire called Melbourne by the way. Thanks again. ←
  16. Hi everyone, I see wheel corrosion is a topic, i read with interest as mine are orrible!, anyhow the lighting on my clock keeps going on and off, is it possible to gain access to sort without adegree in cardashromovalism? or is it a dealer job at the next service?/
