  1. Hi, Just wondered if any of you had had a go at the following puzzle: http://mrattitude.centelia.org/ It has 40 levels and can be VERY frustrating. When you finish it you move onto puzzle 2. Good luck to anyone who tries it. I finished the first one and I am number 288 on those that have completed it. Regards John
  2. Have a look in the SatNav section. There is a website mentioned there. It's pinned.
  3. The 2007-2008 disk I got for my 1998 LS400 is excellent, but does not do postcodes. It has COMPLETE UK coverage and does not drop you off "in the vicinity" of your destination, but instead guides you all the way there. It does do house numbers. Lots of good POIs as well.
  4. Definitetly i will keep on looking ,lets hope i can find a good one. Mine's Nice !!! See her at http://gallery.mac.com/tjohnwez#100060 Pics taken with my mobile phone, so they could be better !! John
  5. I took my 1998 Mk4 LEXUS LS400 through the car wash and left the ignition on with the aerial up !!!! Anyone know where I can get another or something that is compatible. I haven't tried calling my local LEXUS dealer as I would expect they would want some exorbitant price for one. I've called a couple of local breakers, but no luck. Regards John
  6. Hi my 1998 Mk4 automatically moves the nearside mirror down when I have the switch set to the right and reversing.
  7. I have just ordered a 2007-2008 update disk for the Lexus CD based SatNav in my 1998 LS 400 from http://www.cheaptoyotaparts.co.uk/ It cost £89.00 delivered. Chewy.
  8. Hi All, I need to remove the stereo/satnav system from my car to get at the rear of it. I pull off the upper central airvent and removed the two screws that secure the top of the unit, but I am not sure what to do next??? Anyone got any ideas? Regards John
  9. Dear All, I've recently bought a 1998 LS400. It is a fantastic car of that I have no doubt. However, starting at around 65ish MPH and above there is a lot of wind noise from around the area of the driver's door mirror, resulting a a whistling sound. I have tried sitting in the front passenger seat and there is little or no noise from the passenger door mirror. Anyone know if this is normal?
  10. My freinds Plasma went pop - VERY Expensive to fix. Have you looked at Rear Projection TV. A 46" RPTV with 2000:1 Contrast ratio costs around £900.00. The TV, although floor standing is typically only 12" deep. Picture quality is EXCELLENT. Alternatively, I went for a high quality, loow noise SONY projector. I bought a motorised drop down screen (72") and this is the dogs danglers !!
  11. I took the car into Kwik Fit and they did a free brake system check and told me it was a faulty brake sensor. They said if I ordered one from Lexus they could fit it. Coming back and reading the further replies, I checked the brake lights as suggested. Lo and behold, one the rear brake lights was not working. Thanks everyone for your help. There is nothing the owners manual that says this could be the problem when the warning light comes on, only had brake on or low brake fluid level.
  12. I guess all LOC members (or the majority anyway) are not Labour voters. As such the poll is only representative of a moaning middle class? Comments
  13. I emptied the washer bottle, refilled it, thumped it, then the light went out. Guess it was a sticking and/or faulty sensor switch. Brakes. When the car starts the light is on. If I release the handbrake the light on the dash goes out. When I then put my foot on the brakes (not handbrake) the light comes on and does not go out until ignition is turned off. I suspect from what you say that this could be related to a low pads sensor. It states in the manual that a message should come up saying that the pads are low - I am not seeing this message. I'll take the wheels off and have a look at the pads tomorrow. Thanks for the help
  14. Hi All, I've just replaced my 1998 BMW 740 with a 1998 LS 400. What a car !!! Anyway, small problem. When I bought the car the Washer Bottle warning light was on. I didn't worry too much about this as I assumed filling it would exstinguish the light - It hasn't. Has anyone an idea on this one? Secondly, the handbrake warning light does not go out even when the handbrake is released. This started happening after I bought the car. I've checked the brake fluid level (as suggested in the owner's handbook) and it is just above the max level in the filler tank under the bonnet. Has anyone any ideas on this one? Thanks all.
