  1. Strictly speaking, launch control can be fitted to any car. On my system I had a whole new stand alone ECU fitted, in which I had launch control added. It can be done on an auto (I think) but there is a bit more messing about and bother to get it to work right.

Launch control is basicaly a rev limiter which kicks in until a certain set speed is reached ( for eg 10kph).

My car limits at 3215rpm until 10kmph. (then all hell breaks loose :o :P :D ) It can obviously be set to different levels for different cars. I also have a set amount of ignition retard tapped in. This causes the engine to work against itself. In turn the turbo starts to boost because it is under pressure. The result is that I have 0.2bar of boost while sitting on the line :huh: (ready to go)

I know that Race Logic have a traction and launch control system, but that GRiM could not get the launch control working with the IS200 electronics setup.

Have a look at this and you should hear the turbo winding up to 0.2bar (low boost) before I "launch"

  2. Spot on Owen glad to hear from you so soon!! :)

I have got a few spare pounds here right now to book or give a deposit but not for long as I just discovered that I have a tiny Lexus driver on the way :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Better yet,,,,, it is due in October so the closer to august (earlier) the better  :P .

PM me and I will sort you out with the goods :shifty:

    Gav.

  3. I built a custom turbo conversion but the manifold and turbo are the same as the one in the kit Dave (Prolex) is selling. I have an Autronic SM4 stand alone ECU. I have a full custom 3" stainless exhaust with all cats removed, braided oil lines and braided fuel return line. uprated fuel pump and regulator, denso iridium plugs, blitz dump valve and lots of other little toys :P

Our dyno is still not running properly over here as it need to be calibrated after some problems. I am guessing somewhere between 250bhp and 270bhp. I have new injectors to go in which will allow a slight raise in boost but only to about 280bhp. They are going in next week! :D

  4. That is a very in-depth explanation there Bazza!! :winky:

As far as damage to my exhaust etc goes you are right about that which is why Jonny (mapper) only set the anti-lag to mild to save my turbo and manifold. It is really just a toy for messing with as it is not set as vicious ALS.

Ellz---- That is just a slight over fuelling that gives a splutter when the bike lets off. I have that tapped into my map aswell so I get a few splutters and pops when slowing down through the gears :D

I also have the launch control set up in the car which basically limits the revs to 3250rpm until i pass 10kmph. There is a bit of ignition retard in there too so I get about 0.2bar of boost while sitting on the line :hehe: This can obviously be adjusted to suit different cars etc!!

  5. has anyone tried this mcguires stuff, ive seen quite a few adverts around for it...........

    Have a Look here Matt!

This is after I used the Deep crystal 3 stage system. The pics are only of my missus' old motor and were taken after slight rain with a mobile phone but the stuff worked absolutely brilliantly. It is the best I've seen without the help of a buffer or polisher.

This 3 stage system is only to be done every 6 months to a year so I use the Meguiars Gold class polish on a regular basis. It is carnuba based and is much easier to use than the Autoglym stuff as it is a very fine polish and only a very light coat is needed each time!

I would strongly recommend that Autoglym users at least give the Meguiars a go so you can see the difference yourself :o

  6. Got your PM Owen. I am deffo still interested in going but as you can understand I don't wanna book if the meet is gonna be a flop with nobody there or is cancelled etc etc.

How many are still going and how much is the deposit for me and the missus??

At the very worst I could take a day trip down there If I don't get booking.

  7. I got pulled before with slightly differently made plates and the cop showed me a card with all the rules and requirements for a reg plate. There was no rule for having an extra space between the T and G. It only stated that the space had to be present between the 0 and R.

    I'll see how it goes.

I nearly got attacked with the window tint tester last night though which wasn't a nice feeling as they make you pull your tints off on the spot!!!!!

  8. Long time no see guys and gals :whistling:

I finally sorted out the problems with the dvla and dvlni with getting my car registered to me properly and in doing so I was also able to transfer my personal reg back onto my own car at last. I have had this number for a while but couldn't put it on my last car as it was a 91 crx vtec which was too old to accept the reg.

I liked the L3X plate but it wasn't personal enough for me.

    Here's a couple of pics

  9. Hahaha LOLOLOLOL.

I am in Italy right now. :D :lol::lol:

I am in Livigno snowboarding with my wee bro, couple of mates, girlfriend and her friend.

Snow is top notch, and a few of us went on to the powder yesterday which was cool but it pulls the legs right out of you :o

That is sooo true about the italians

Some of them are also very rude and ignorant

    But hey, Its all good

  10. Yeah the beeping gets on my nerves too but then again I have two seperate beeping noises. the normal warning beep and also the beeping from the rear parking sensors that are not even being used anymore. Steveaudiox told me when he sold me the car that it had been hit lightly at the back and he replaced the rear bumper. He didn't like the look of the sensors in the bumper so he didn't get them fitted again. I assume they are dangling somewhere in there behind the bumper now and are just beeping away for no reason :duh:

My car now sounds like a ring tone from an old monophonic phone when in reverse
