  1. I feel you may be right brother :D Am still kakking myself about the EGV potential problem though. Can anyone confirm if this would be fixed by Lexus even though the warranty has expired.
  2. Thanks for all the replies peeps. I went to see the car yesterday and it really does have all the toys. DVD screens in the back with a Playstation included. Ex Lex demo plus one owner. I drove the car for 15 minutes and it didn`t feel sluggush or anything. Nothing special either I might add. Absolutely cannot fault the luxury side though. Just looks the mutts marraccas. The dealer actually called Lexus and asked about any outstanding recalls or warranted work carried out but they wouldn`t tell him as he`s not the owner?????? Hmmmmmm. All they said was something about a rubber mat. Hmmmmm even stranger Have to see a 2008 Accord this morning them will make my mind up after that. P.S. Here`s the car http://users.autoexposure.co.uk/vehicle.cfm?Account=AETA13580&Style=6&Id=AETV15797032&feature=active_sharing
  3. When the recall work is done, is it stamped in the service book, or would it just be a receipt?
  4. Just been reading about the 5th valve being replaced. Is this a manufacturers fault to be replaced under warranty, even if the official warranty has expired? I`m getting depressed now reading about the faults. I was soooo looking forward to getting this car but having 2nd thoughts now. Squeaks etc don`t bother me, just mechanical problems. I`ve only got until tomorrow to make my mind up. Is there much difference in mpg between the petrol and diesel?
  5. Cheers for that Col. All new cars have various anomalies like you describe, of various degrees. I`ve only once ever bought a brand new car and had more trouble with that, than any other. I`d expect though, as a 4 year old car would have these niggles sorted. I was looking for some advice on any mechanical worries I should be looking for on a 50k mile model. Does anything need to be changed out at around this sort of mileage? (I know my original post says 60k but it`s actually 50k miles) I`m quite happy to compromise a bit of fuel consumption over luxury. I don`t do excessive miles anyway and also have my Supra for the weekends :D I`ve also to look at an Accord which boasts 60mpg or so but I know which car I`ll be buying if the Lexus is a 'straight' car. I like toys :winky:
  6. Copied this from another section. ........................................ Hi Guys, Haven`t been around since getting rid of my GS300 some years ago but am going back to Lexus again. I read, albeit some older posts, where people were condemming the 220D as a terrible car basically. I`m looking at a SE-L tomorrow. 2006. 60k miles and was wondering what peoples opinions were nowadays. Also, is there anything, problemwise, I should be looking out for? Thanks in advance.
  7. I think you did a wee bit. £500 cheaper would have been nearer the mark but that`s only MY opinion. I haven`t checked Glass`s or owt. Andy
  8. I had Black Diamond discs AND pads on my 300 sport and were superb. Took a lot of bedding in mind with a fair bit of squealing under light braking. Even after 500 miles. They were 'glazed' and a wee rub of sandpaper to the pads sorted that out. Andy
  9. Hey Pimp.....how you doin` these days. Interesting post mate. Well I have the same problem with my GTO and am expecting my universal (well I wasn`t going to Mitsustealer for it) sensor tomorrow. 50 pounds delivered including the special spanner. I would say that we should change the sensors every say 25k miles as a force of habit because they`re gonna be on their way out by then anyway due to the very nature of their location. Andy
  10. Thanks lads and I`ll still be hanging around the site tho` for a while. Got a real bargain here. It needs a clutch though but I knew that anyway. Has a good spec list as well. Was out pricing a paint/graffix job for it this morning so it may look different in a month or two. Maneesh......what a difference mate. Dunno how it compares to an Aristo but the power is phenomenal compared to the N/A model. Supposedly running 380 BHP Couple of snaps for those who are interested. http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d117/lic...er/100_1502.jpg http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d117/lic...er/100_1511.jpg http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d117/lic...er/100_1506.jpg Andy
  11. Well lads (and lasses if any).........bought myself a GTO yesterday so the Lex' has gone into Autotrader today. Hopefully I`ll manage to sell it soon and pick up an old Mondeo or something to run around in. Don`t think I`m asking daft money for it but time will tell. There aren`t many Sports around. It`s been great being on the site and wish I could have contributed more. I`ve enjoyed speaking to you all, especially to The Pimp. Maneesh.......get yourself a proper fast car mate :winky: You know you want to. All the best, Andy
  12. It`s been mentioned before so try http://www.247spares.co.uk/ I`ve used them and they`re OK. Good luck with the search. Andy
  13. Am I being thick? I can't figure it out What time is it saying here??? 5:35 or 8:40?!?! You got me brother :duh:
  14. Hey pimp......have I found the watch for you :D http://www.tokyoflash.com/viewwatch66W1pim...sy-watches.html ATB, Andy
  15. thanks, im not the type of guy that has vaseline lying around though :D :P :P All I can say then mate is to get a life. Ye dunno what you`re missing :winky:
  16. Hi Pimp.....I don`t think it`s too bad looking at that. You SHOULD have covered the badge in vaseline (or similar) then washed it off after painting. Nice job though mate. Andy
  17. Hi mate...... I tried buying something from these people months ago and found them to be very unco-operative. Andy
  18. Hi Maneesh....without getting into fusion bonded epoxies and all that stuff (which are the REAL hard wearing coatings) no ordinary paints will withstand stoning so my suggestion would be just to use a normal can of spray and touch it up often. Can`t be more than a 10 minute job. Loved your 7 sec mowtah by the way :winky: Andy
  19. Yeah.....I like boxing though not so much nowadays. I loved the 'golden middleweight' era with all the greats, Hagler, Hearns, Duran, Leonard and the numerous other quality boxers of that time. Will we ever see their like again as I don`t think there has been or will be a crop like them over a sort of 10 year period. The heavyweight division is a joke these days and much prefer going to the 'gentlemens boxing evenings' and supporting the youngsters.
  20. Looking good there Mike. Do you feel it's improved the performance or maybe RR figures to confirm.
  21. Yeah mate.....there's a pic on Maneesh's thread on his kit. I have installed a shield at the cone but guess it's just not good enough. It's a bit tight for space but as I've said elsewhere, it sounded worse, so was always a bit skeptical about it's ability.
  22. Dunno if this is a scoop or not but while on holiday in Austria last week, the Japanese photographers from Lexus were there doing a shoot of the LS 460L. I have no idea if this the/a new model but managed to blag a couple of snaps before getting hunted. They wouldn't let me near them to fotograph the interior. Cracking car though.........
