Hi guys I’m in need of help with my is200.

I just changed the engine and  It started but skipped ON Position when turning the key it just went to START straight away.  I heard this grinding noise from near the gearbox area so turned it off left it for a few days replaced the clutch and pressure plate and loom as mine was chopped up from turbo charging it, went to start it again and ticked over good. Drove it that day no problems. Next day I went to start it the grinding noise came back and it was skipping the ON position and went straight to start again. I changed the starter motor, Loom checked all the earths. I went out the next day and started up fine again drove it around for a few hours and when I was driving home I lost power and the grinding noise came back the fuel light started flashing and smoke coming from down the back of the engine near starter motor side, this is the same symptoms as day 1 btw. Just Ed fitted another starter and doing the same thing. I have plenty of fuel in the car. Fresh oil and coolant and filters. I also changed the starter relay.

Has anyone any idea what I could try next because I’m at a standstill here. Thanks
