Bad smell in IS220D cabin when fan swiched on

Hi, just wondering if anyone else experienced bad smell in their car, similar to exhaust or soot. 

I have tried almost everything to get rid of it from air freshner sprays to air con purifiers but after a week comes back. 

Thought it might be the exhaust (manifold to cat) but that was ok. I did notice soot near the turbo area on or near the actuator which maybe the cause, any ideas what it could be and to solve this problem,l. Any advice would be very much appreciated, thanks

By the sound of it,the soot/exhaust fumes is leaking into the car through the vents when the fan is switched on,so it is very likely that you have got some sort of leak somewhere in the engine bay🙄
