Remote keypad not connecting.

I recently posted about the power steering on my 2006 GS300 failing after the Battery was recharged following it going flat whilst left stood up for a few weeks.

The other day, after it stood for a week or so post charge, I started the car to take it to a garage for diagnosis of the problem, but hey presto the power steering was working again.

After a couple of more days I went to take the car out and neither of the two key fobs would register - so I had to open the car using the 'key', with the alarm going off and an error on the dash saying no key located resulting in my not being able to start the car.

The batteries in both fobs are relatively new, so any suggestions on best approch for rectifying this issue would be appreciated.
