Dear everyone,

Compliments of the season and I am quite new here on the platform. I have an es350 2007 model with an AFS warning light blinking on my dashboard. I had to open my headlamps to wash them because they looked dull and foggy due to dust that entered them. Before I washed them, the AFS warning lights were not blinking and the AFS worked perfectly when driving at a turn.

After the repair, the AFS warning light came on. The headlights washer guy told me he fixed everything perfectly. When I switch on the car, the halogen bulb re-adjust but after a while, the AFS blinking light comes on. I have watched videos on You tube but I am not getting a solution to my specific car model. Is there a sensor that needs to be connected under the headlights or anywhere around the front bumper? I will appreciate any advice I can get so that I can either do it myself or go back to the mechanic for proper repair.

Thanks!

I will add that if the lights are similar to the AFS ones on the RX in that era then the AFS swivel ECUs are part of the headlights and have internal connections, plus a connection into the wiring loom that is separate to the power supplied to the bulbs. There are no external sensors near the lights - really only the height sensor on the suspension for self-levelling which you wouldn't have been anywhere near.

Ideally you will need to obtain the fault code that is being generated to help narrow down the problem to one of the headlamps.

Thanks to everyone that reached out to me. Apparently not everything were connected to the headlights when they were coupled back in the front bumper. I found out that one of the connector that controls the AFS was not connected to the headlight. Immediately it was connected, the AFS blinking light on my dashboard stopped.
