Tyre Crabbing

Do any of you experience crabbing?  I have the F-sport wheels with 225/40 18 on the front. The tyres are new(got them last year) Good year asymmetric 6. Off late given the cold weather ive been experiencing really bad crabbing when doing a U turn in the morning immediately after setting off. I hear loads of pops from the front tyre. It sounds like the pops you hear when they install new tyres and inflate it for the first time. Its not as bad after driving for a while (i assume the tyres warm up) . Is this normal? Also what impact does it have on the tyres? For others considering Good year asymmetric 6 this might be something to consider - i know they're summer tyres but if you dont plan to switch between sets during the winter might be worth getting all season tyres or potentially a different brand. Do other brands of summer tyres do this too in the winters? I haven't experienced this before on any of the cars i have owned also we have a honda jazz also with summer tyres but that doesn't crab is it because those are slimmer tyres?

All the time in very cold weather. The rubber is very hard when cold and skips and judders on parking turning. It's OK, just a "feature". At first I thought it was a problem with the steering/suspension. But it's just big cold hard tyres.

Yes - all summer tyres do this in winter when they are cold and it gets down to around freezing as the tread blocks lose their elasticity - gets better once the tyres have warmed up after a bit of driving - lots of thread on here about it. No need to be concerned, though it's quite startling when you first hear it.

Maybe an additional factor could be that the Jazz is front wheel drive and the Lexus is rear wheel drive?

My wife's Toyota Yaris hybrid started doing it this week in the cold weather reversing back off our drive and applying full lock. I think any car with stone cold tyres can experience this.
