Irregular spark after replacing engine

Recommended Posts

Hello all. Recently I replaced the engine in my IS200 after an engine failure. The new engine will not fire up and I have narrowed it down to the spark. Here is a video of the spark plug while cranking and you can see that it doesnt spark at regular intervals.

I've tried other spark plugs and coilpacks but it is still the same. I have measured the resitance of both the cam and crank sensor and they both show to be in spec. I also cleaned up the ground wire from the engine to the Battery but that didnt help either. The only thing left I can think about is the ECU, but considering that it worked with the old engine I'm sceptical that it would be the culprit.

Does anyone else have anymore ideas?

Checked the clearence to the sensor which was about 0.8mm. I did see that some of the studs of the trigger wheel had almost rusted away completely.

Will change the wheel and see if there is anything else wrong.
