Is200 Sat Nav Problem

Recommended Posts

I have just bought a 1999 Lexus IS200 which has the standard lexus navigation within it, hasnt been updated as yet. However, I want to go to Alton Towers and it could not find this which is understandable, yet it couldnt find Alton at all neither any of the surrounding towns or roads.

Is there an updated disk I can buy, if so, how much and will it make much difference as Alton Towers was around in 1999 when the car/nav was made so surely it should be on this disk. Other than that, it makes more sense using a simple road map rather than spending thousands on a Navigation like people do.

If someone could get back to me that will be great.

Cheers

You can get an updated disk from Lexus, if your car is a 99 I beleive it will be a CD that you need, the newer systems use DVD.

You can check which you have by looking at the disk in the boot - just lift up the right hand side of the boot floor and you will find the nav unit!

I beleive some people managed to buy the Toyota Avensis disk and that worked with the Lexus system - I'm not talking from experience here however. The Toyota disk is much cheaper than the equivalent Lexus disk.

Good luck :)
