Doors Locking Automatically

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, I notice with my IS200 Sport that after a while the car locks itself automatically.

Can anyone advise how long the car waits before it does this and is it intelligent enought to know that if the keys are say on the seat that it wont lock itself and lock you out!!??!!

If you unlock the car with the remote and do not open a door within 30 seconds, the car will automatically lock the doors again as it thinks they may have been unlocked by accident.

If you open a door they will remain open until you lock them?

Is that what you mean?

Ah ok, so it's only if you unlock them remotely and then don't access the car that it automatically unlocks.

So if I remotely unlocked it, got in then got out and left the keys in the car I don't have to worry about it automatically locking?

Yes, I had this happen once, lucily I was at home so had the spare keys.

Unlocked the car, got in the passenger seat of 2 seconds, left the keys on the seat, closed the door. Car locked itself when I went back inside.

Only if you open the drivers door does it not lock again.
