Tranny Problems

I have a 93 gs 300. The car will start off driving fine and then a couple of minutes later the tranny just cuts out,no bang no noise or anything. Then I'll shut the car off and restart it a couple of seconds later and it will drive fine for a couple of minutes and then the tranny will cut out again. It does this over and over. Does this car have an Automatic Transmission Control, or some ohter type of device that would make this problem occur? Any information could be of help. Thank You

What do you mean by "cut out"? Do you just lose drive like it is in neutral?

Have you checked that the fluid level is OK?

Yes i've checked the fluid levels and they are full. Thats why i was trying to figure

out if there was some kind of module that might be bad. Yes it does exactly what you said, just like neutral.

Maybe worth checking the solinods and the wiring inside the G/B, if you have access to some ramps, easy enough for you to do but requires you going into the G/B by draining all the fuild and removing the sump. I had to do this a while back -

Picc below shows the wiring and solinods ( top centre) that maybe the fault

Did your car have the same problems?

hello this site has more pics on the transmission (its really to do with a tran modification, it may help)

I have recently purchased another gs300 1993 and sometimes it overrevs or refuses to change gear. I have recently renewed fluid (about 4 months ago, from lexus i think it was type iv cant remember  ) and it has run fine but recently its got a mind of its own. I personally believe it might be the throttle position sensor (i could be wrong)but i dont have specs to move it into position.
