Dipping Door Mirrors

I have had the car since October. I have had the rear tinted by 35%, however this is not as dark as the RX400H I had as a loan car whilst mine was in the garage. When I was driving this I noticed that the door mirrors went very dark when cars behind tried to blind me with their lights.

Since then I have been trying to work out whether my door mirrors are in fact dipping? And yes before you ask I have an Se-l so they are standard fit.

My first thought was that I guess they use the sensor on the rear view mirror, this is on Auto (the green light is on). Due to the additional tint being put on I thought maybe this was causing the sensor to throw a bit of a wobbly, but as I said the RX400H had much darker tints applied and they still dimmed.

So, is this another thing to get Lexus to look at or am I expecting too much. If I switch it off I really do struggle to notice a difference.

Let me have your thoughts and cheers in advance

The door mirrors barely dim on my IS300, almost unnoticeable - I had to check the manual to see if they were fitted!

I had an RX350 loaner and the door mirrors went very dark - if anything a bit too dark.
