Problems With Sc 400 Stereo

i have just bought a lexus sc 400 a week ago. after i bought it i notice there was a problem with the stereo. 5 out of the six speakers in the car (not including the sub) were not working correctly. all you could hear out of them was low end sound, no mid or high end would come out of them. since it is highly unlikely that 5 out of the 6 speakers in the car are blown out i was wondering if anyone else came across this same problem and what was causing it. the stereo and all the speakers are stock. thanks

I ahev come across this on a GT4 celica in that case it was the amp but the bad news was it was so pricey to get it repaired we put double din sony in instead.
