Touching Up And A Bit Of Spray Painting...

Recommended Posts

Hi all, I have a bad habit of scuffing the bumper on my Sexy Lexy GS300 P(97) but I recently had the day from hell.

  1. First I scraped the car down my wall - 1 hour later the wall was 4 feet shorter lol!
  2. Next, I whacked the right side front bumper with a bollard - fortunately I pulled it back out with no visible damage
  3. 2 hours later I scraped the left bumper with a white painted wooden post, this has surface crazed the paintwork.
  4. Then I went to Tesco, and someone had whacked my passenger door - fortunately a guy saw it happen and was witness for me, I got to drive around in the RX400H for a few weeks :D
  5. and finally 10:30pm in Asda some Mutha****** chipped the paintwork over my number plate with a towbar, I have cursed them with swollen piles he!he!

So, after a few days of calming down I am in a good place again and at one with the universe, what I would like to know is how does one patch up bumpers, I can do the metal body work, that's pretty easy, just time consuming, but do I need and special primers fillers etc?

As a secondary question, can you re-tension slack seat belts because whenever I get out of the car the seatbelt doesn't go back unless I feed it back?

TIA

Indeed, Just bought some spray paint from Toyota to get ma'baby back up to her usual gorgeousness. got some car body filler etc and some primer just need a good day and some serious sanding.

I forgot to add, 2 days after my disaster, my girlfriends car got written off, and she is now cruising around in a new Golf GTI loan car... talk about quick off the mark... and road handling is superb, it's like being on rails.

Can do, I'll take pics at regular intervals and make a bit of a tut.

I've been using the touch-up paint I got from my local Toyota dealer, I had a few chips here and there and around the driver door key area and its come up pretty good, it comes with clear instructions and it can be done within an hour including the top coat.
