Atf Colour

Hi guys.

I have been reading a few topics on the forum and a lot of posts refer to the ATF being a "cherry red" colour.

I have checked mine and it is a pale pink colour when cold, (I haven't checked it when it is hot).

The car has a full Lexus service history.

Does this seem right to you guys?

Should I just check it when it is hot, does it change colour according to temperature?

Pale pink, cherry red.... either will be OK, when the trans starts to wear it leaves particles in the oil, it then starts to go brown and look like clean engine oil so as long as it doesn't look like that I'm sure you will be fine

Thanks for that Pete.

The fluid is nice and clean so it looks as though everything is OK.

It's one less thing to worry about.
